1 THE PROVERB Called by God through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit to worship, grow and serve. October 2015 Pastor Wayne Worship Schedule Committee Chairs Session Notes PASTOR WAYNE Pastor Wayne is recovering at LifeCare Hospitals of Wisconsin, 2400 Golf Road, Pewaukee. Phone calls and visits must be kept short, to no more than 10 minutes, as talking lowers his oxygen levels. Cards would be appreciated and can be sent to his home. Please keep Pastor Wayne and his wife, Emily, in your prayers. Sunday School has begun and plans are being made for the special holidays to come. The grounds are made ready for winter. There is activity all around! With Pastor Wayne s illness, he is taking some time to rest and recover. His presence at church will be missed while he is out he is very busy and involved in many aspects of the church. We are making plans to find pulpit supply for Sunday services. Pastor Wayne had also gotten together a great group of young people for a Confirmation Class, which planned to meet weekly and culminate in Confirmation mid-december. Session did not want to disappoint this group! Thus, this motion was proposed at our Session meeting on September 14th: Motion: It was moved to ask Elder Phyllis Warden to conduct the Confirmation program in consultation with Rev. Adcock. Approved. Phyllis has agreed to lead the class, and will consult with Rev. Adcock and follow the class structure that he had planned. We feel that this is a great solution to these unforeseen circumstances. Larry Lemmenes will be the Elder in charge of the Sacrament of Holy Communion on October 4th. Please contact him if you or someone you know would like a home communion visit. r Enjoy the Peace which is found in the Presence of God! Blessings, Kim Koski, Clerk of Session
3 Page 3 - The Proverb October 2015 PASTOR NOMINATING COMMITTEE UPDATE: We Skype interviewed another candidate for our Pastoral opening. After a comprehensive review and Presbytery input we deemed that the candidate s fit was not in the best interests of KMUPC. We still have two candidates who are considering further conversation about our opening. We have requested additional PIFs for review and consideration. As we continue the journey, we will find the best fit for KMUPC. While we have had some setbacks and disappointments. God has a plan for us and we must patiently await its outcome. Patience is a Christian Virtue and we need a healthy dose of it. We continue to ask you for your prayers of support as we continue in the search for the next pastor.
