2 Todd & Hannah Morr Serving in Tacoma, Washington with Josiah Venture Week of March 6, 2011 Todd & Hannah with their children Elijah, Ella Grace, Noelle, and Olivia Todd has been connected with EWO since 1998, when a group from EWO traveled to the Czech Republic to work with Josiah Venture. Since then, numerous summer teams and interns from EWO have served with Todd in both the Czech Republic and Romania. Through the ministry of Josiah Venture, Todd is responsible for a church planting initiative in 7 different Eastern European countries. Their vision is to see 1,000 healthy, reproducing churches planted in Eastern Europe in the next 15 years. Todd married Hannah in April They have 4 children: Elijah (7), Ella Grace Soma School Training for Church Planters (5), Noelle (2), and Olivia (8 months). Their family is currently living in Tacoma, WA, where they are working with Soma Communities, the GCM Collective, and the Acts 29 Church Planting Network. Their specific focus now is primarily to help train and coach church planters, both in the U.S. and Eastern Europe. Pray for wisdom and strength with their involvement at Soma as they lead part of the church. Pray for dependence on the Holy Spirit as they work to see many churches planted, both in the U.S. and throughout Eastern Europe. Pray for the health of their young family, especially during the times when Todd is away in Europe. Pray for Todd and Hannah to have wisdom as parents to disciple their children in the ways of Jesus. 3 Bill & Gloria Bagley Serving in Preston, ID with Tentmakers Bible Mission Week of March 13, 2011 Bill and Gloria are church planting missionaries who serve at Grace Fellowship Church looking to bring the Mormon community to Christ. As a church, they are focused on buying up every opportunity God presents them this year. They want to have at least two baptism services this year and will hopefully receive new members in April and September. They want to have a VBS outreach to boys and girls this summer, similar to last year s VBS coordinated by a short-term team from East White Oak. They currently have a weekly Kids Club on Fridays and a monthly get-together for teens. They also are resuming three small group studies in three area towns and will offer Bible Studies twice-weekly for women. Each Saturday morning they have a Men s Breakfast Bible Study. Dan & Kathy Jacobson Jim & Debbie Chavarria Pray for the Elders and their wives, Dan and Kathy Jacobson and Jim and Debbie Chavarria. Pray especially for Debbie, who is battling breast cancer, and currently undergoing chemotherapy. Praise God that only one of the men is out of work at this time; Pray for Marc and Susie Wilson to find employment. Pray with Bill and Gloria that in the next ten years, God will bring 1,000 people from the Cache Valley to salvation! Nothing is too hard for God! 4 Laurie Soliday Serving in Normal, IL with Campus Crusade for Christ Week of March 20, 2011 Laurie (right) with intern Lindsey Many of you have seen Laurie Soliday serving here at EWO... did you know that she is also on full-time staff with Campus Crusade for Christ? Since 2002, Laurie has been working with 30 different colleges in Central Illinois as part of CCC s Catalytic team. Similar to church planting, this Catalytic team witnesses to students, disciples new believers, and mentors them to maturity in Christ. Recently, the students at all of the Central Illinois campuses read the book The Fuel and the Flame by Steve Shadrach. The first part of the book talks about walking with God and the motivation behind campus ministry. The second half of the book focuses on strategy to reach the campus. God has used the message in the lives of the students. At Illinois College, groups of students even went out knocking on dorm room doors seeking to share the gospel without any prior training! Laurie is grateful for the ways she has seen God work in the ministry of Central Illinois, but is also excited to follow Him in a new direction of ministry. This fall she plans to join the Campus Crusade staff in Berlin, Germany where she will serve with EWO missionaries Matt & Michelle Kent. Students at a CCC Conference This semester will be Laurie s last one with the Central Illinois team. Pray that she is able to leave well and transition smoothly with the staff in Berlin in August. 5 Erik and Jenny Klouse Serving with InterVarsity in Champaign, IL Week of March 27, 2011 Erik & Jenny with their children Levi, Zion, and Jubilee Jenny grew up here at EWO, while Erik grew up in Michigan. They met at an InterVarsity leadership camp in college. After marrying, they joined IV staff in Illinois. Today, Jenny directs the InterVarsity ministry at the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign (16 staff/500 students) while Erik travels the country training students and staff in cross-cultural ministry and navigating ethnic differences. The Klouses believe that working with college students, who become influential leaders around the world, is a key strategy to bring the kingdom of God more fully to earth. Student and Staff Growth Pray for InterVarsity spring break trips to inner city Chicago, St. Louis, and Michigan (March 20-26). Pray for Erik who will speak at training events in Pittsburgh (March 17-18) and Chicago (April 11-15). Pray for leadership training and community building during InterVarsity s week-long camp in Michigan (May 15-21). Family Pray that Levi will continue to be a light in his kindergarten class. Pray that God will provide funds for Erik to work on a seminary degree in Conflict Transformation. Pray for wisdom as they consider their next season of ministry.
