Nancy and I could not have imagined the rich blessings that God has given through these years with you, our church family. So first of all, I want to thank Him for all He has done, and I also want to thank you for giving me the privilege of leading and serving you as Pastor. We have shared many victories, challenges, and trials together. That s what church life is all about. Through it all, God has multiplied our joy and divided our sorrow. I m so grateful for your love, patience, and prayerful support over these years. Your faithfulness has been an inspiring source of encouragement along the way. The Lord has much more for us to do. He has many opportunities for us to worship and serve in His name. Let s pledge that by God s grace we will serve Him faithfully and honor Him until we cross the finish line and enter His presence. As we often say, our Liberty church family exists only by His grace and for His glory. No higher calling is possible. With love and appreciation for you all, Pastor Stan Ephesians 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Thank You - Pastor Stan & Nancy For 20 Years of Service to God and the Congrega on of Liberty Bap st Church

3 Ladies Corner Submitted by: Marie Younce What a wonderful night of Fellowship we had on Thursday, with about sixty of our lovely Ladies and visitors! We even had one family of three generations represented. Our Fellowship evening began with a delicious meal provided by our LBC Food Team Debbie Foran, Scarlett Sells, Sue Hicks, & Brenda White. Their hard work and late night preparations were much appreciated by everyone. Our special Hostess for the evening was Phyllis Campbell. We always love to see that sweet smile greeting us at the door. Thank you Phyllis. Fresh potted plants were given as door prizes to ten of our Ladies, and were enjoyed as centerpieces for our tables. A beautiful display table of heirlooms and collectable type items of jewelry, hats, teacups, antique pieces, and a lovely cross-stitched nativity scene. You could hear lots of laughter as many tried on the various hats, and posed for pictures. Thanks to those that provided these items for us to enjoy. Our Theme for this Fellowship night, was to share Special Memories and Testimonies. This sharing time began with Deborah Walker, followed by Jodi Leonard, Scarlett Sells, & Mary Bowman. They shared about people that had played a huge part in shaping their lives into the women they are today. They spoke of some traditions that are being passed from mother to daughter, and generation to generation. What a blessing and such sweet memories to pass on. Becky Booher then shared in music with a special song reminding us to be thankful. All I can say is that the Sweet Spirit of Fellowship just kept right on flowing.. Our Time of Sharing in Memories & Testimony continued, and I think all that participated were greatly blessed for their efforts. What a blessing we all received as Julia Godsey, Rachel Lunsford, Becky Thomas, Donna Pendergrass, JoAnne Hughes, & Lisa Brown, shared their personal testimonies. And yes, we shed a few tears along with them as we were deeply touched to hear how they surrendered their hearts at the moment of salvation. We were reminded that you don t have to be raised in a Christian home, or be in church, in order to be saved. Thank you Lord. I was honored to close the evening with a few words to challenge us to remember that the choices we make, will be a huge part of what we leave behind. The story of Martha inviting Christ and His disciples into her home, and then choosing to prepare a meal instead of listening to the Son of God, was not a choice that she would have wanted to be remembered for. Our traditions and trinkets are beautiful and special to us, but that is not what is most important. We must tell others, especially our children and our families, about our faith and our moment of salvation. Let them hear how God has changed our lives. It will be something they will never forget. Don t expect them to think we are saved just because we go to church or that we do great works in the church. We must let them hear our hearts. That is a most special heirloom to pass down through generations. Service and works are needed, but they cannot replace our growth in the Word of God, and part of that growth comes from sharing our testimony. So, what are we going to be remembered for? Are we passing on what is most special to us? Ladies, it just doesn t get much sweeter than this True Fellowship shared from the heart. Liberty Rings Page 3

5 LBC Missions This year, LBC Missions is off to a good start. I would like to thank everyone that has participated so far. We just completed our fifth month of Food Pantry. Not only do we supply food to those in need, we also give a gospel presentation and have prayer with those that request it. Many have helped work with the Raceway Ministries at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Bibles were handed out along with books, coffee and cookies. The areas worked were at the Drag Strip, inside the track in designated Raceway tents, and driving golf carts to transport visitors. One was driving a van transporting people that needed to go to the local hospital. Several people were saved during the Spring Race weekend, and many prayer requests were turned in. Our latest ministry was a short trip to Long Island, NY. The team helped a new Pastor and his church, by building a raised sound booth for their equipment, running electricity, and helping setup the system. We also got to give a gospel presentation during a Men s breakfast. Our Mission Team will be returning to the church in NY in late July, to hold a VBS and take part in many other ministry opportunities. Another trip for several of our team members, will be in July as we join the Mission team going to Belize. We will be presenting the gospel through VBS and through a nightly tent crusade, along with performing light construction where needed. Thanks again, to all those that have helped so far this year in our church Missions. Some may not be able to go on the trips, but you have been faithful to support financially, and it is much appreciated. You have been a blessing to many people. As always, I ask for prayers for our upcoming Mission trips as well as for our local Mission work. Philip Younce NY MISSION TRIP Saturday, July 21st - Saturday, July 28th - Please be in Prayer now for this team! Memorial Day Service Thank You Jim Sells & David Anderson for your help in Honoring and Remembering our Veteran s during our special Memorial Day service Liberty Rings Page 5
6 Potter s Field - Update from Janet Chaney, LBC Missionary to Thailand Witnessing the miraculous works of the Holy Spirit is always an experience that produces deep reverence and awe in me as I behold the power of the Living God shining the Light of Jesus into the darkened hearts of men. Scripture reminds us that we, too were once blind and living in darkness. Throughout each week, me and my team carry the Light of the gospel to the people here whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe. (2 Cor. 4:4) We are only carriers of God s message and vessels of His Light and we spend much time in prayer for these who will hear that they will respond to the gospel and be quickened and pricked in their hearts by the Spirit and be made aware of their souls lost condition. We hope for this, we long for it, we pray for it and go weeping before the Lord for them. Many of you join us in praying this for the people also. It would be wonderful if every time we went out, every person would be brought from the dead into new life in Christ. Much of our walk with the Lord as believers requires much persistence and patience. We can too quickly become discouraged when the desired result we are seeking (people coming to faith in Jesus) does not come quickly or perhaps not even at all. We sometimes then re-assess and rethink our methods and approach figuring we have failed in some part or not done our part sufficiently (i.e., not spent enough time in prayer.) We have to continually recall in our minds that we have no sufficiency in ourselves to cure ourselves, so how could we possibly produce sufficiency to win others? God does as He pleases, when He pleases. That s why it s so amazing when we do get to see the power of His gospel, His light shining into the dark souls of unbelieving men. We have been going the Cambodian work camp now for over 10 months. Pastor Daniel and Marina from my church here in Pattaya expressed a desire to come and see the people we work with each week and meet them. I then invited Pastor Daniel to bring the message one night in mid-may and we were blessed to have them as guest messengers. In anticipation of the night when they came, I was so excited for the sake of the people and excited also for myself with hopes that I might learn some new things from Daniel and Marina who have been serving now in this mission field for 22 years. We all prayed for this time and when the night came, Pastor Daniel delivered a very powerful gospel message, complete with some very creative and profound object lessons. When he was finished, there was all of a sudden, an overwhelming response to the message. We had not asked for a response but about 12 people were on the edge of their seats wanting to follow Jesus and waving a raised hand for I want this Jesus! Even the seasoned Pastor, along with myself and two translators were all stunned. We kind of fumbled around like okay, what do we do now? It may sound silly, but it was actually a very serious moment and one where obviously the Spirit took over and we were kind of in shock and awe. Daniel asked my Thai translator Lee to lead the prayer, but Lee felt our Khmer translator should lead in prayer. Good thing the people don t understand English as we were trying to sort out who was even going to say a prayer! We know, and emphasized to the people, that there is no magic or salvation in saying the words of any prayer. In the end, Daniel led those who wanted to receive Jesus as their Savior in a prayer that was translated by Vid, the Khmer translator. The point is that when the Light of Jesus breaks into and through the darkness, even we that believe marvel and are stunned by the glory of God. We were speechless! No one knew what would happen that night. We do not always know what God does with the seeds we sow in obedience to His commands, but once in a while, we get to see a glimpse of His glory and we fall down in the presence of His power. His power not only overtook and saved those who He chose that night at the Camp, but His power also overtook us the teachers. The light of the gospel of the glory of Christ shined on us all that night at the Camp. All praise, honor and glory to Him who sits on the Throne and reigns forever and ever, Amen! What you believe matters and it matters eternally. Wrong beliefs about God lead people to hell we read in Matthew 7: Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness. Many at that time will have thought they had the correct belief, but they were eternally wrong. To have strong and correct beliefs you must have a strong foundation.
