4 Let them thank the Lord for His steadfast love, for His wonderful works to the sons of men! Psalm 107:15 WELCOME: After a week of activity and work, we meet here together for worship. May our worship be sincere. May you worship in Spirit and Truth. May the Lord speak to your heart through His Word today. Then, let Him speak to the hearts of others through your life and your actions tomorrow. Please join us after this morning s service for a time of refreshment in the Fellowship Hall. Children aged 3-5 meet your teacher in the foyer during the offering this morning for Children s Church. ABOUT OUR MESSAGES This morning, Chase Pheifer will be bringing the message. Our series in Acts, King on a Mission, continues as we see Paul preach in Athens. Paul references one of their altars inscribed with To the unknown god, but what was unknown to the Athenians, Paul proclaims as The Known God." This evening, Pastor Drew will be preaching from Isaiah 46 with his messaged entitled, I Am God, and There Is No Other. PRAYERS AND PRAISES We want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards sent in celebration of Leona Van Dusseldorp s 90th birthday and for the many Bibles donated in her honor. She so enjoyed hearing from each of you. ~The family of Leona We grieve along with the family for our brother in Christ, Don Severson, who passed away this past week at the age of 90. Please keep Don s family in your prayers. There will be a visitation at the Mount Funeral Home, Sunday (today) from 2-4 PM and funeral Monday (tomorrow) at 10:30 AM here at the church.

5 Paysen Munneke will undergo a kidney transplant in Minneapolis on Friday, August 17. Please be in prayer for Paysen and his team of doctors and nurses, as well as Paysen's donor and her team. OUR ANNOUNCEMENTS Safe Church Policies need to be signed, by anyone helping with children under the age of 18, before the start of the new education season. Your leaders will be receiving them today. Wednesday Men s Lunch: Each Wednesday beginning August 22, men who desire to get to know God s word are welcome to meet in the Family Room over the noon hour. We ll simply be walking through a short portion of the Bible together. If you would like to grow in your ability to read Scripture and aren t currently in a Bible Study, this is for you! Lunch will be picked up--just contact Pastor Drew if you d like to be included, or bring your own. Contact him with any other questions as well. Hope to see you there! Today is the last day of the Adult Sunday School, which is led by Chase Pheifer. The class starts at 11:45 AM. All adults are invited, and you do not need to be at each class. Please join us as we specifically lift up, Students and Children in Platte for the upcoming School year, Youth Groups and AWANA, as well as the current Youth Culture that pursues Students and Children striving to draw them away from understanding and living out a Biblical Worldview. 6 An Open House will be held at Dakota Christian School on Tuesday, Aug. 14 th, from 7:00-8:00 PM. This will be a chance for parents and students to come and meet the teachers, for K-6 th grade students to bring school supplies to their classroom, and 7 th -12 th grade students to sign up for their locker. Trinity Lutheran Church Women would like to invite you to join them for a Positive Attitude/Gratitude Retreat on August 18 from 10AM to 3PM. Karen Harrington will be the guest speaker. RIGHT TO LIFE-The Tri-county Right to Life will meet on August 20 at 7:30 at Dakota Christian School. Anyone is welcome to come to this meeting to see how you might support this cause. All women are invited to a local IF: Gathering at Calvary Baptist Church on Sat., Aug. 25th from 8:30AM-3:30PM! The speakers featured will be Jennie Allen, Christine Caine, Ann Voskamp & Rebekah Lyons! The conference is free and breakfast and lunch will be provided! There will be a time of praise and worship along with getting into God's word and a time of fellowship with the ladies that will be attending. The theme is on: 2 Timothy.
