2 P A G E 2 How does your garden grow? The Bible is strong on gardening. Whether in Genesis, Jeremiah or the Gospels, gardens play a prominent role in God s plans. Gardens are a special place to bear witness to God s creation. It is a place to commune with God, love your neighbor and care for creation all at the same time. It is for these reasons that Outreach is creating a community vegetable garden here at Good Shepherd. It is our hope that Good Shepherd s garden will foster community among its members while providing fresh produce for our neighbors at Forever Fed Mobile Food Pantry. Gardening together as a church allows us to be stewards of the earth for the benefit of all people. It is a ministry, not just an activity, and we hope you will join us in our efforts to feed our neighbor with a sustainable and ongoing garden ministry. Here is how you can help Join the GSLC Garden Committee to help oversee maintenance, offer expertise, or just help in general. Our panel of esteemed judges will then choose from the entries and the winner will be awarded a prize along with the prestige that comes with naming our garden. There will also be a permanent sign placed in the garden with the new name. So use your creativity, scour your Bible, or pray for enlightenment as you come up with the best entry.
