1 Kentucky Caller MONTHLY NEWSLETTER KENTUCKY ROAD CHRISTIAN CHURCH MARCH 2017 Love One Another For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother s were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. It is a message of love. Throughout 1 John, we have seen this common theme and it will continue until the end of the book. How you treat other people shows a lot on who you are. Do you love? In particular, do you love your fellow Christian? Do you love your neighbor? Mar Men s Breakfast John gives two primary examples here of what he means. First, the story of Cain and Able. Cain was jealous over his brother s relationship with God. Able was blessed because he truly honored God with everything he had. Cain, not so much. But rather than fix his relationship with God, Cain killed his brother. The second example comes from the world. When it comes to Christians, the world does not treat them with love. For one reason or another, this is true. And we shouldn t be surprised that it happens. Mar Dagwoods Fundraiser So, what do these examples have to do with us? Everything! These examples show us what we should not do to each other or the world. We should not repay evil with evil, but rather we should focus on loving all we come in contact with. Even those we despise. Even those we are hurt by. Even those who have a better relationship with God than we do. If we want to truly know if we are in Christ, it will show by how we love one another. We will be having our annual Dagwood s fundraiser on March 18th at 12-3:30. This fundraiser will go towards our Wisconsin mission trip for our 6th-12 graders! Please come out and support us as we prepare for our mission trip We will be having our first ever nerf war at the Church for all of those who are 5th grade and under! We will be providing food and the bullets. You just need to provide the nerf gun! If you don t have a nerf gun, no worries! We will have a few for you to use! 4 Men s Breakfast - March 10 at 8am Men, come enjoy a great meal and fellowship with one another. Short devotional following meal. Willing Workers - March 5 at 10am Willing Workers is a group of ladies whose primary purpose is to sew quilts for the children of Shiloh Christian Youth Home. Feel free to join them whether you know how to sew or not. Bring your own lunch. Daylight Saving Time - March 11 at 2am Don t be late for services, remember to set your clock forward before you go to bed on the 10th. Fishes & Loaves - March 6 & 20 at 6pm Fishes & Loaves is our outreach to those in need of a good, hot meal. This takes place every month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays starting at 6:00pm. Easter Event - March 31 at 3pm Come and enjoy the afternoon with friends. There will be an egg hunt, egg decorating, and a bounce house.

5 Awana Club - Wednesdays at 6pm We will meet Wednesdays from 6-7:45! This is a kids club for pre-k through 5th grade! CMCE - March 19 at 6:30pm CMCE is a church planting organization located in Central Missouri. They meet monthly at various churches throughout the region. There is a free meal and a speaker at each meeting. This month Southside Christian Church in Mexico is hosting. MOPS March 21 at 9am If you are a mother with children from pregnancy through preschool, come see what we are all about. Elders & Deacons Meeting March 22 at 7pm Church leadership team meeting. Any one is welcome to attend. Oldies but Goodies - March 15 at noon This is a lunch and bible study that all are welcomed to attend. We are currently going through 2 Corinthians. Bring food to share.

6 Sunrise Service - April 1 at 6:30am Come celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. This year the service will be held at Southside Christian Church with Tony Maxwell preaching. Annual Spring Fling - March 24 at 9:30am Parkview Christian Church in Centralia, Mo is hosting their Annual Spring Fling. See Emily Maxwell for more details. Women s Day & Banquet April 5 at 4pm This in Central Christian College of the Bible s annual women s banquet. Watch the bulletin board closer to time for more information. Ozark Women s Conference April 6-7 Attend an over night conference at Ozark Christian College. Deadline to register is April 1. For more information, grab a flyer from the connection table or talk to Emily Maxwell. Beth Moore - July Come see Beth Moore live! Early bird deadline is March 31st. Prayer is the mighty engine that is to move the Missionary work. J. Hudson Taylor Edwards Family Taiwan This year Alicia and I embarked on a new challenge reading through the Bible in 90 days. After 40 days, one thing in particular has been hitting home as we move through the Old Testament. The Israelites continually make the choice to reject God and run after idols and false gods of the surrounding kingdoms. What keeps a nation from desiring and committing to follow the one true God? This is a question we continue to pray about as we work with the people of Taiwan. What keeps them committed to burning incense to false idols even after seeing and experiencing the love of Jesus in the lives of His followers here in Taiwan? Would you commit to praying more for a breakthrough in the hearts of the Taiwanese people. Maybe we are just a few prayers away from seeing the spiritual transformation of this island. During Chinese New Year in February, we celebrated the Year of the Dog. Sanchez Family Manzanillo, Mexico During January, Susan s life coach, mentor, therapist, and friend since 2012, Mrs. McCreary of Moberly, passed away suddenly. On the very day of her funeral in Moberly, Josh s grandpa Abuelito Sanchez passed away. Sam and Isaac were in Mexico City for 10 days, spending time with their grandmother and cousins and were blessed to spend those last days with Abuelito Sanchez. Keep the family in your prayers as they grieve these two losses. A Bible study has been started in Colima; and Omar, the youth minister at Manzanillo, has started a class with two teachers from Colima who are working in Manzanillo. Shiloh Shiloh encourages children to mature into responsible adults. At the heart of Shiloh s ministry, Christian homeparents care for victims of abuse and neglect as well as other at-risk children. They feed them nutritious meals, take them to church and Sunday School, and run them to the doctor when they are sick. That ministry is helping around 30 children right now. Thank you for your continued support. It means that Shiloh can receive children and help them discover God s love in Show Me No one can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending. Anonymous. I want to communicate to all the broken, hurting, vulnerable children I get to love every day that, thanks to Jesus our past does not define us. We can move beyond the circumstances of yesterday and embrace a new ending. You make this reality for so many! Your faithful support makes all the difference in the world. What a thrill to hear you are able to increase your quarterly giving to $500, a necessary resource in composing happy endings! Central Christian College of the Bible Women s Day & Banquet, to be held Thursday, April 5, The program will feature Cindy Sigler Dagnan. Cindy is an international speaker and author. She will develop the theme, Dressed in Grace. Workshops begin at 4 pm; banquet at 6 pm. Admission is $20. per person. Ozark Christian College Women s Conference, April 6 & 7. Truly Free is the theme. See Emily for more info. CMCE The March 19 meeting will be at Southside Christian Church with Corey Whitaker speaking. Rocky Fork Fellowship will dedicate their new building with worship and tours on March 2 at 7 pm. This is located just south of Hallsville on Highway B. Christian Campus House The spotlight on Columbia and the University of Missouri the past couple of years has been anything but positive. Tucked away on the east side of campus is a special part of God s activity here. CCH has been at work for almost 50 years, helping to keep the faith of students who come as believers while using these same students to show faith to others. The results are something you did not read in the newspapers or see on TV or hear complained about in the capital building in Jefferson City. Lives are changed here and Jesus is seen for who He truly is. Keep us in your prayers as we continue to labor for His glory and let young people know about CCH if they are coming to any of the schools in Columbia. Missouri Christian Convention March 16 & 17, 2018, at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach. Devoted Life is the theme. Dan Sites from Southside CC is President. Wes Wright, minister and professor at Northwest Christian University in Eugene, OR, and Ken Idleman, former President of Ozark Christian College and presently Vice President of The Solomon Foundation will be the main speakers.
