2 From the Worship Committee Needed - someone to do scheduling for Green Acres. We are also looking for two more people to meet with their residents on Sunday afternoons, as well as a substitute. Please see Rick Oosterheert for more information. Pine Rest CAP Program Many people with early and mid-stages of Alzheimer s Disease experience depression. Treatment is available and can make significant difference in quality of life. CAP offers free and professional therapy, so call to make an appointment. South Christian High School SCHS Music Boosters will be hosting our 4 th annual Soup Supper Fundraiser on Monday, February 4 from 5:15-7:15 pm in the Rotunda. The students are raising funds for the Band and Orchestra Trip to Nashville, TN. There will be a take out option for families and staff (servings for 3 ($10) or a family package for $25.). Individual student cost for the supper is $3 and families are asked to make a donation. Thank you in advance for your support. Excellence in Worship feedback session at 11 am today in the sanctuary to talk about the changes in our worship services the past few months. Excellence in Worship Committee The Excellence in Worship Committee would like to invite those who might like to use their voices or their instruments in worship to a special meeting on Wednesday, January 30 from 7-8:30 pm. We will talk about leading singing and playing instruments to enhance the worship experience at Wayland CRC. We will also go through a rehearsal with some new music we will be learning for Lent and Easter. If you sing well or play, please join us. From Council It will soon be time for Council to begin the process of selected nominees to assume leadership roles for those who will be retiring in June. Council covets your prayers during this process. Pray for the Spirit to work within the hearts of those who will be nominated and eventually chosen, so that they are eager and prepared to assume their roles. Youth Group vs. Council Join us for the Youth Group vs. Council Sports Challenge, this Saturday, Feb. 2, at 7:30 PM at Moline Christian School. Doors open at 7:00. Admission is just $1 (or free if that's too expensive). It may be cold outside but the competition is hot! Come cheer on your favorite team. What are they playing? We're not sure yet. They're still in negotiations. You'll find out when you get there! Free coffee, maybe even refreshments.

4 Cadet Sunday Litany (Scripture quoted from: 2 Corinthians 9:8, Acts 20:35, 2 Corinthians 9:7, John 14:15, 1 John 4:21) Leader: Be a blessing. We have been blessed with riches and talents, which we can use to bless others. We are told in our theme verse that, God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. There are many ways we, as Christians, can be a blessing in this world. Cadets/Counselors: We can bless people by sharing our abundance with them. Congregation: It is more blessed to give than to receive. Cadets/Counselors: How should we give? Congregation: give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Cadets/Counselors: Jesus said, If you love me you will keep my commandments. 1 Congregation: Whoever loves God must also love his brother. Leader: The world and the communities around us are blessed when they see God s love shown through each of us, His people. All: We are called to live our Christian lives in love, so that the world will know we are Christians by our love. 2
