At our 10:30am service, we welcome our growing Sunday School community of children, teachers and parents. The young people will take an active role today in various parts of e service. Much of our music for e service comes from songs and hymns which we have been using wi e children since e start of Sunday School. St. John s Anglican Church Lunenburg, Nova Scotia Rector: Archdeacon Michael H. Mitchell To all who mourn or need comfort To all who are weary and need rest, To all who seek friendship, To all who desire to grow in relationship wi God To all who pray and to all who do not, but ought, To all who need a Saviour, And to all whoever will worship, This Church of St. John s opens wide its doors and in e name of Christ our Lord, says - W ELCOM E. We come to e end of anoer Church Year wi e celebration of e Reign of Christ, our Shepherd King. He came as our Good Shepherd and entrusted us to one anoer. When he will come to evaluate our life and how much it is wor in his eyes and in ours, he will ask us: Have you cared for one anoer, have you served, especially e poor and e weak? This is not only a matter of serving oer people: it is also serving God, for e neighbour in need is no oer an Christ himself. It is erefore an act of deep fai. In is Eucharist we ask e Lord for generous love and fai. We live in a time when fear is a prevalent emotion. Fear can immobilize us to inaction. Wheer it is responding to e Humanitarian Crisis of refugees, working for reconciliation and justice among First Nations, addressing e needs of e homeless and underemployed, ere is still much for us to do in Canada and around world in building God s Kingdom. We Christians can make a difference! Our efforts are born out of Christian hope and rough e power of e Holy Spirit. Next Sunday begins at great Season of Hope and Expectation e Season of Advent. Let us pray for God s mighty power to be revealed in our lives and in e world. Have a great week and God Bless you. The God of Israel has spoken, e Rock of Israel has said to me: One who rules over people justly, ruling in e fear of God, is like e light of morning, like e sun rising on a cloudless morning, gleaming from e rain on e grassy land. Is not my house like is wi God? For he has made wi me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all ings and secure. Will he not cause to prosper all my help and my desire? But e godless are all like orns at are rown away; for ey cannot be picked up wi e hand; to touch em one uses an iron bar or e shaft of a spear. And ey are entirely consumed in fire on e spot. 2 SAMUEL 23:1-7 The Word of e Lord. Thanks be to God. PSALM REFRAIN The Lord will dwell in Zion forever. R "The ark! We heard it was in Ephratah; we found it in e fields of Jearim. Let us go to God's dwelling place; let us fall upon our knees before his footstool." R Arise, O Lord, into your resting-place, you and e ark of your streng. Let your priests be cloed wi righteousness; let your faiful people sing wi joy. For your servant David's sake, do not turn away e face of your anointed. R The Lord has sworn an oa to David; in tru, he will not break it: "A son, e fruit of your body will I set upon your rone.
