1 Chapter 1 : Names of God Bible Study Online - Love God Greatly This keepsake journal is the perfect companion to the book: Praying the Names of God by Ann Spangler, and a beautiful way to show others how we can rely on Him in every circumstance of our lives. Read more. And then over the years I would sing this song to myself whenever I was anxious and scared. I often think about the many times in the middle of the night I would hug my younger self singing this song in my head eventually falling asleep. That song always comforted me. It still does today. Perhaps this song was the seed planted all those years ago that is now become The Prayer Journals. I cannot imagine not going a day without my daily writing and praying visits with God. Because no matter how much I rely on my faith, there are days I when I feel the raindrops of doubt are the ones I do see Him more clearly. If we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us. We know that we live in him and he lives in us, because he has given us his Spirit. We have seen and testify to the fact that the Father sent his Son as the Savior of the world. God lives in those who declare that Jesus is the Son of God, and they live in God. We have known and believed that God loves us. We are all witnesses to that. And love your neighbor as you love yourself. A new day will dawn on us from above because our God is loving and merciful. He will guide us into the way of peace. And when I find myself being bitter about not receiving the thing I want or something not happening when I think it should happen, I go to the prayer journal and I write: I only want what you want me to have and when you want me to have it and not a minute sooner. It never fails to amaze me the feeling that comes over me. All his ways are fair. He is a faithful God, who does no wrong. He is honorable and reliable. Keep me from relying on my own power, my own purpose and the love of this world instead of my love for you. Help me to understand that wisdom is born and grows to maturity through faith in Christ. Grant me the patience and confidence in Your mercy and hope in Your promises. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, who is Wisdom. Amen May I pray for you? The Prayer Journals blog is my personal spiritual journey in conjunction with writing my spiritual memoir. My posts in are a series relating to this theme. If you have just joined The Prayer Journals, I hope you will take the time to explore previous posts on this site. Please reach out to The Prayer Journals if I can answer any questions about keeping a prayer journal of your own. A prayer journal is an intimate communication between you and God. Perhaps you are an illustrator, a painter, a poet, a lyricist or creator of scrapbooks. Use your gifts to communicate with God, however you wish in your prayer journal. God enjoys hearing from you and you will be blessed! Blessings on your day,. Page 1

2 Chapter 2 : Ways of Keeping a Prayer Journal :: Deeper Devotion Praying the Names of God Journal takes these names and makes them personal through heartfelt prayers accompanied by the scriptures where these names of God are found. This beautiful journal will lead you to a deeper faith in the one true Lord. How to Make a Simple Prayer Journal this post may contain affiliate links. Ruthie is a woman full of wisdom and life experience, just the kind of woman I love to learn from. So very timely for us doing the 40 Days 40 Promises Prayer Challenge. Sign up and take the Day Prayer Challenge for yourself here! Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. She just shared a deep burden with you. And then, you forget. Until the next time you see her. And berate yourself for doing it again. Get in the car. Pick out a cute, lined notebook. And make it into a prayer notebook, or a prayer journal. It can be Walmart. What is a Prayer Journal? Quite simply, a prayer journal is a place where you record your prayers, a prayer diary of sorts. Some journals have pre-made pages with Scriptures or prompts to pray through. Below is how I made my prayer journal, and helped to develop a stronger prayer habit. Also, prayer journaling is a great way to reflect on what God has done and record His goodness for future generations. This idea is just one of many prayer journal ideas, but hopefully it will give you a great starting point. A prayer journal is also a wonderful place to write down war room Scriptures to pray. How to Make a Simple Prayer Journal: On the first page of your prayer journal, record a list of attributes of God. The Scriptures say He loves to dwell in the praises of His people. When we praise Him, Who is indeed worthy of all praise, He draws near, and we become in awe of Him. We must never forget to give honor and glory to our God. Begin prayer each day, selecting two or three attributes for praise. You can search for these in your Bible, or better yet, download this free, useful resource of printable names and attributes of God, designed by our own Arabah Joy! Write each day of the week at the top of seven adjacent pages in your prayer journal, beginning with Sunday. Reserve one page, front and back, per day. Under the pages marked Sunday through Friday, write at least one person for whom you will pray. This is your chance to write down that person you keep forgetting, and you can also write her need s. If you do write a need, be sure to date it, so you can record updates. This will be exciting to track as you see answers come about! Jot in names of others as you become aware of needs. If you are stuck and unsure where to start in praying, please try these prompts for your prayer time. On this day, record special blessings that occurred during the week. Anything from having an unexpected need met to being spared from a near car accident. A lot happens in a week. Sometimes my Saturday has three or more entries. Last week, I recorded eight! He suffered internal injuries, endured reconstructive surgery, and lost a few teeth. After just eight months, he is fully recovered and back to work. They know my prayers have been with them daily throughout this entire process. Caregiver friends, ministering friends, grieving friends, and just plain sad friends. I pray for these dear souls. Prayer is powerful in many, limitless ways. My Saturday praises looked like this: My son got a job and found a church in his new college town! My whole family enjoyed a rare, sweet time of fellowship, blessing one another around the campfire one early summer night. Our oldest is pregnant with our second grandchild! So how about it? Will you take up the prayer journal challenge? What are some things you do to implement a practical prayer life? Check this post for books that will deepen your prayer life. 3 Chapter 3 : 20 Prayer Journal Prompts - theinnatdunvilla.com Praying the Names of God Journal [Ann Spangler] on theinnatdunvilla.com *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Ann Spangler, award-winning writer and author of multiple bestselling books, partners with Ellie Claire to create a Promise Journal that brings her passion and love for Scripture onto the pages. When Joshua and the Israelites came out from wandering the desert, God caused the Jordan River to part so they could pass over. He instructed twelve men from each tribe to pick up a stone in the middle of the river as a memorial of how God allowed them to walk across the riverbed during its flood stage. Keeping a prayer journal is the same kind of memorial for you and your children of how God has been good to your family. The prayer journal serves not only as a reminder but also as a way of strengthening your faith when you face more trials in this lifetime. Use the following 7 tips to help you get started in this wonderful journey: Have you ever started with good intentions to eat right and exercise, but then later you fizzle into your old habits and routines? Many of us begin with a prayer journal, but soon its gathering dust on an end table. Our prayer journey should begin with asking God to give us the perseverance to follow through what we plan to do. Finding the right place may be just as difficult as finding the right time to write in your journal. Be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit for the best place to reflect and meditate. It may be early in the morning, late at night, or you may use a lunch break once a week to fast and write in your prayer journal. The Holy Spirit will direct you to the scriptures that speak most closely to your request. Many times the Holy Spirit will quicken your heart to pray in a different direction. You will rejoice in the answered prayer that flows with the word of God. There is always grace in every crisis because the Lord tempers our trials with the power to sustain us. Think carefully and deeply over your prayer request before you write it out. Find those bursts of grace moments that you can give thanks to God. Yet Jesus asked them what they wanted. When we write our requests down with all the specifics, we know what we have asked and thereforeâ we will know when our prayers have been answered. When God shows His glory through our answered prayers, we experience a greater faith in Him. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! Proclaim God for who He isâ awesome, wonderful, faithful, generous, mighty, and holy. Use the book of Psalms as a starting guideline for praising God. Find the names of God that correlate with your prayer requests. For example, if you are praying about a sicknessâ praise God for being the true Healer. The most important step but the one many of us forget is to go back and write how God answered our prayers. By doing so, we give our families something to look back on and continue the legacy of faith. The Lord uses our miracles to build up the faith and courage of others. Take the time today to begin a lifetime of journaling. All rights reserved worldwide Would you like to get the daily question in your FB messenger? Just click the button below to get started. Page 3

Are you a family walking through medical challenges? You may also find yourself unsure of what people in your support network can do to help. Do you want to support a family facing medical adversity? From immediate family to friends to colleagues, medical adversity touches each and every life in some way. What others are saying about this prayer journal The Prayer Journal was really helpful. The prayers really helped me to calm down and learn new verses I will apply to my life. The Prayer Journal was very well put together and inspiring. The Prayer Journal is very helpful in keeping my thoughts organized and focused, more intentional. It also allows me to pray for those people with conditions, situations that I had not thought to be more specific about and to add to my prayer list. The Prayer Journal has strengthened our faith. The Prayer Journal is extremely useful and powerful. The Lord desires to connect with us, encourage us, and make us more like him. Here is a breakdown of the purpose behind each section of the guide. The emotional ups and downs of any medical journey can make it easy to go into survival mode. This prayer guide provides questions to help you unpack areas where the Lord wants to meet you and minister to you in grace. The truths of the Bible are instrumental in finding and holding onto hope. There are stories that help us to relate to God during times of pain, stress, or hurt. There are pieces of wisdom that help us to keep perspective. There is also joyous praise to offer to the Lord and lift our spirits. Find a starting point. One of the challenges with prayer can be simply knowing where to start. Circumstances can overwhelm us, and leave us at a loss for words, so this prayer guide also includes starting point prayers to guide you in those times. When we engage the Lord in prayer, He loves to meet us and give us His hope. Answered prayers are anchors for our soul and powerful reminders of the faithfulness of God. Our desire is that you will find the strength, encouragement, and HOPE you need for each day from the Author of hope as you go through this journal. Page 4

5 Chapter 5 : JOURNAL PRAYING THE NAMES OF GOD Write down for the coming generation what the Lord has done, so that people not yet born will praise him. Psalm GNT Creating a written memory of your prayer life as you journey through the emotions and thoughts that come from reflection on His divine names will deepen your relationship with God. I personally keep a daily prayer journal and journal most of my prayers during my morning quiet times. After reading my Bible I get out my black composition notebook the ones they make you use in English class and journal out my prayers to God for about a half hour. I spend time in confession of sin and asking for his help to change. I then try to spend a lot of time praying for others. I also keep an index at the front of the notebook and number each pages. Then in my index, I add the page numbers for each prayer entry. For really significant entries, I might also put those on another page and reference them with a title. I would suggest just exploring different things until you find something that you are comfortable with, something that you will actually do. One of the biggest things about prayer and time with God is consistency. Find the method that will help you be the most consistent. Here are some other ideas: Media If you like to write by hand, then a notebook may be great for you. Use what you like to hold and carry around. If you love cheap spiral bound notebooks, use those. If you like working with loose pages, try a half-inch three ring binder. There are lots of other programs out there. Those are the things I hate the most about my current setup. If you want to go a step further, you could also try keeping your prayer journal online. Most journal or blogs let you choose whether to make your posts public or private. You can keep an entire online journal private so only you can read it. You could create a special folder to store them all in. Methods When you are praying for specific people, try getting a photo of each and putting them in your journal. You could take a section at the beginning and paste the photos in one per page, and then add prayer requests beneath each with a date. As you pray, you can flip back to these pages to see what things you are praying about for these people. As God shows you things to pray for, add them to the list with the date. As God answers those prayers, add the date answered. Prayer is intended to be a conversation. If God speaks to you about something as you are praying or through a specific passage, write it down in your prayer journal and then spend time thanking him for showing you that truth. Continue to ask for him to speak to you through his word and through the Holy Spirit. If you see patterns in the sins you list, pray that God would show you how to change those patterns and then make a note to continue to watch for those things in your life. Final thoughts Prayer journals can be a great way for you to watch how God grows you through the years. I am excited to one day have a huge stack of composition notebooks full of prayers to God. As I go back through them, I know that I will see how God has changed me over time and made me more like him. I hope the same for you, too! Page 5

We talk about it over dinner with We laugh about it now because at 18 years and counting, oh how God has blessed our love. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. It is beautiful poetry showing us that God is like a gentle, kind and protective shepherd to God is my Shepherd. A few weeks ago my husband and I found out that our sweet little Brinnley will need to We smiled and shook our heads as we shared both hilarious, as well as incredibly refining God Has Provided All Things by Jen Thorn Nov 13, 26 Comments "His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence Yes, He is our provider, but there are times when Christians think this means health, wealth, happiness, ease and comfort. And this line of thinking leads me to ask the question: You see, I struggle And my, oh my, has God done some major connecting! In different cultures and in different times the naming of a baby is no small matter. Names were seriously considered, and then carefully chosen for a number of different reasons. Some named their children after their ancestors as a way of preserving There, I said it. Page 6
