The Center fr Ministry Develpment leads by helping cmmunities engage yuth and families. Fr fur decades, the Center has jined in cllabratin t lead cmmunities t practical implementatin f the Church s visin fr ministry with yuth and families by bringing tgether research, field tested slutins, and examples f best practices. We equip leaders t envisin renewed ministries. Our frmatin and supprt ensure that they understand the cntext; they knw the visin; and they have the resurces. We are wrking t lead and create the future f ministry, nw. Unfrtunately, there is a crisis f engagement in the Cathlic Church in the United States in Since 1990, the number f peple wh identify themselves as frmer Cathlics has tripled t 30,000,000. During that same perid, the number f Cathlic weddings fell by mre than 50%. Yuth wh chse t disaffiliate frm the Cathlic faith are making that decisin at an average age f 13. Faithful leaders are facing these challenges with hpe and a hunger fr new directin and innvative supprt that will prpel parishes and Cathlic schls t engage and inspire a new generatin f yung disciples. Empwer Faith-filled Leaders t Accmpany Yuth The wrk f the Center fr Ministry Develpment is t accmpany, supprt and train yung peple and the adults wh accmpany them. We equip leaders in parishes, Cathlic schls, and diceses t serve yuth and their families. We prvide training, resurces, and cnsultatin fr pastral ministry and catechesis with yuth and families. We prepare parents, ministry leaders, teachers, catechists, caches, and family members t be a faith witness and a cmpanin t yung peple. The wrk f the Center cntributes significantly t the effrts f the Cathlic church t evangelize yuth t bring them t knw and lve Jesus Christ. We supprt yung disciples and their families in living the faith. Ultimately, leadership in diceses, parishes, and schls multiplies as thse wh are frmed and inspired g n t fill psitins f leadership in faith cmmunities. 40 Years f Supprting Leaders

3 Since 1978, the Center fr Ministry Develpment has wrked t respnd t the needs f diceses, parishes, and Cathlic Schl cmmunities: Over 15,000 ministry leaders trained thrugh the Certificate in Yuth Ministry Studies Prgram. Spnsred by 73 diceses, 14 Cathlic universities, and three seminaries in the United States, this prgram has als been prvided in Canada, Ireland, Sctland, Belize, and Guam. Leaders are nw served in this prgram thrugh in-persn and nline frmatin. Over 1.6 millin hurs f service prvided by 52,000 yuth, yung adults, and adult leaders thrugh the Yung Neighbrs in Actin and Just5Days prgrams thrugh wrk in hmeless shelters, hspitality kitchens, children s prgrams, hme repair fr the elderly, and cmmunity clean-up campaigns. Prgrams f frmatin and ministry develpment spnsred by ver 160 diceses.
