2 Prayer Requests Mary Jo Rinke for wisdom and support while facing her health concerns. Elizabeth Winn, Kathy Hendrix's daughter, as she starts new treatments and prepares for surgery. Also keep Elizabeth's husband, Kevin, and their kids, Hannah, and Eli in prayer, that they will know comfort and God's presence near them. Debbie Sheller s husband Bob as he recovers from knee surgery. Ben Phillips who tore his rotator cuff in a fall and will be out of commission for 6 weeks. Jerry Annunzio for physical healing. Curtis Ashby, as he recovers from surgery for throat cancer. Our bookkeeper Yolanda, for proper healing from hip replacement surgery she had early this year. Debbie Sheller s friend, Rita, who has terminal cancer. Please pray she will be comforted in her last weeks and for her family during this time.. Continued Prayers: Morris friend, Arlene. Reach out and let them know they are on your mind, all it takes is a phone call, a thinking of you card or maybe a quick visit to make someone feel special and to let them know they are not forgotten. Sunday, Oct 7 is World Wide Communion Sunday. This idea began in 1933 in the Presbyterian denomination to promote Christian Unity and ecumenical cooperation and focuses on an observance of the Eucharist. By 1940 it spread to other denominations through what is now known as The National Council of Churches, and then was promoted worldwide. It is always the first Sunday in October. At Parkhill Christian we have celebrated it by having breads made or purchased by members that represent different countries. There will be a sign-up sheet in the Narthex this Sunday, September 9, if you would like to make/purchase a special bread to share for our service. Please put your name, phone #, and what country and kind of bread you will donate. You may also participate by wearing a piece of clothing or accessory item that represents another country that day. It s fun to see what people come up with. Plan to join us as we celebrate Communion with our Christian family around the world in our Worship Service on October 7. Thank you, Your Worship Committee Future is NOW! Many thanks to everyone who has participated in the last 7 months. We have had 10 meetings with about 125 in total attendance. One meeting included ice cream sundaes and another root beer floats. Those who like ice cream and have come more than once. Which is GREAT!! We have encouraged everyone to share, as each person's opinion is important. We want to stay true to our Church Mission of PRAISING, LOVING AND SERVING. Our main focus is to do God's wishes for Park Hill Christian Church. We need to be in ongoing constant Prayer for God's will today and in the future, as well as, more focus on Evangelism in our church and in our daily lives. 4 UPCOMING EVENTS Calling All Youth Northland Youth PHCC Sunday, September 23rd 5-7 pm All youth, grades 2 through 12, are invited for a meal, games, and Bible lessons. It s a wonderful time for fellowship with our churches here in the northland, and a fun youth group experience. Monday, students, parents & teachers enjoyed the beautiful weather while visiting Alldredge Orchards in Platte City. It was so much fun to feed the animals, go on a hayride, pick apples and learn about bees. See you next year! 4

This past school year our 1,938 books helped carry them through the year. USC bags up 3 books for each student in two elementary schools in inner city Kansas City, Kansas.
