During the sessions, you will learn how both your spiritual gifts given in baptism (charisms) and natural talents are discerned, activated and exercised through ministry, career, volunteer opportunities, and relationships with others. 4 ST. GERALD PARISH, FARMINGTON, MI Donation bags made for South Oakland Shelter last weekend. What a wonderful gift! The SOS Outreach Day was a wonderful success! On behalf of the SGMC we would like to sincerely thank everyone in the parish who made donations to this outreach! Wow! We have never seen so many toothbrushes before! A big thank you to the many volunteers that came out to help that day, we could not have taken care of all the donations without you! (Bridgett, Ava Martin and Mandy Millar, Susie, Nick, Cindy and Julianne Kovach, Milbia and Julianna Rometty, Terry Tenison Marta, Lucy Wrukowska, and Gerryanna, Angela, Francesco, Chiara Luscri.) What a thoughtful, generous giving parish we have. God blesses us greatly every day. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7 The purpose of St. Gerald Mom s Corner is to provide mothers with fellowship, support and opportunities to grow their Christian faith to nurture their children with confidence and Christian values. Through activities such as service projects, parties, speakers, outings and discussion moms are given the opportunity to connect with other moms in support and friendship. The meetings will take place the 3 rd Sunday of the month after 12:00 Mass in one of the classrooms. GERALD PARISH, FARMINGTON, MI KNIGHTS CORNER Finding More Millionaire Party Volunteers Among Discussion Points When Officers Meet Tuesday The search for more volunteers to staff the Council s Millionaire Party efforts will be one of the main discussion points at the Tuesday Officers Meeting. Brother Thom Seabolt who leads that effort reports that he has seven workers so far, about half the number of volunteers needed. We have missed getting involved in the fundraising efforts that will take place in the first half of 2018, he reported at the November 21st Membership Meeting. Since this is a new venture for our Council, it is better to have a few more workers than we absolutely need. By now you should have received either an or a snail mail letter from Financial Secretary Bob Kuhr containing your 2018 dues statement. If you didn t, there probably is a problem with your records, so give Bob a call at Grand Knight, Fred Gerometta, has started gathering data on a report required by the Supreme Council of the volunteer charitable hours donated by K of C members during These hours include charitable time you do as a Council member or as a private person --- visiting a sick uncle or mowing an elderly neighbor s lawn. Once you have the hours broken down and listed, give Fred a call at or him at fgerometta@aol.com. Please do this no later than January 1st. The State K of C Charity Raffle is underway, the major fundraiser that allows the State Council to help more than 50 charities throughout Michigan. Top prize is an 8-day Mediterranean Cruise for two that includes a tour of Rome and the Vatican plus round -trip air from Detroit and $5,000 cash. Second prize is a 9-night Canadian and New England cruise for two plus air and $3.000 cash. Third prize is a 7-night western Caribbean cruise for two plus air and $1,000. Fourth prize is a 3-night junket in Philadelphia and includes a sightseeing tour, the downtown Marriott Hotel, airfare and $500 cash. In addition, there are 36 other cash prizes totaling $8,000. The raffle also is a serious fundraiser for our Council. If you sell a ticket and put our Council number (#13673) on the memo line of the stub you send in, our Council will receive $1.
