Battle k.l.battle@gmail.com Phone: Hazelwood House of Prayer 4 Everyone or Hazelwood HOPE is a house church that exists to model a truly beloved community in which God s people worship in their homes, study with their neighbors, encourage, and care for one another in their daily lives, seeking to create a quality of life within the Greater Hazelwood community that is as rich, deep and hope-filled as that which God intends for all God s children. We gather every Thursday evening for a fellowship meal, a time for praise, worship and testimony and Bible study utilizing a biblical storytelling method called Simply the Story. Hazelwood HOPE members are growing in their knowledge and understanding of God's word and have discovered many of the spiritual treasures God has placed within stories contained in the Bible. We seek to be active participants in sharing and spreading the good news of God's love throughout the Hazelwood community. Please pray that our evangelism efforts would bring in a rich harvest of souls who can become a part of our beloved community enjoying the love and fellowship that we share with one another.

3 Bethel United Presbyterian Church Monroeville 418 Beatty Road, Monroeville, PA The Rev. Nancy Titus Phone: At Bethel, we seek to: Learn God s Word, Do God s Will, and Share God s Way through Christ as His Community Our congregation promotes hands-on mission and outreach in a variety of creative ways including a youth Lock-In for Operation Christmas Child (we sent over 110 boxes), and a Family and Pet Picnic. To ensure active involvement in worship, our youth provide tech support and regular musical performances and in coordination with the Sunday school program, the kids also work together to write, direct, and perform in faith based video productions. In addition to a Bible based Christian Education program for all ages, we also enjoy a joint ministry with St. Martin s Anglican Church, called, Pie n Prayer where we gather together to explore an aspect of prayer and share fellowship over pie. We would appreciate prayers for discernment on visioning for the future, that we might continue to strengthen our spiritual development, and guidance on ways to reach out to our community.

We are a Christ-centered and intentionally cross-cultural family; our emphasis is on the word family. At Eastminster we worship, study, play, serve and eat together. Our Sunday service is a blended service, featuring both traditional and contemporary worship. The passing of the peace takes us a while Come and visit us - and, then, come again. For our team leaving Friday, April 11th, to go to Haiti for one week. We are launching on April 27th a program called Forty Days of Purpose:What On Earth Am I Here For? With many strong and invigorating children/youth programs, we continue to attract young families. An active and bold faith community numbering 130, we are a diverse and eclectic congregation approaching mission, youth and community by laughing, grieving, praying, working and playing together in the name of Christ. Our enhanced capacity to carry out our mission and ministry is made possible through the Spirit working through us and our ministry partners. This is out mission statement: Less than perfect people seeking to live out God s perfect will. Joyful prayers for ten new members received and two babies born, Daniel Roger Sloan Carlson and Josephine Billy Barton.

7 The General Assembly of the PCUSA June 14- June 21, 2014 Detroit Michigan The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) meets biennially in even-numbered years. This year 688 commissioners elected by each of the 173 presbyteries will attend. The General Assembly is new every time it convenes. The commissioners are both Ruling and Teaching Elders. The GA is full of activities: business sessions, committee meetings, an exhibit hall, daily worship services, and mission tours sponsored by the Committee on Local Arrangements. The assembly acts on hundreds of items of business, which it receives through the reports and recommendations of various assembly entities, and through overtures from synods and presbyteries. The last General Assembly, the 220th, was held right here in Pittsburgh at the David Lawrence Convention Center. The 221st General Assembly (2014) will be held in Detroit, Michigan, June 14 21, Please pray for these commissioners who will be attending from the Pittsburgh Presbytery: Ruling Elders: Lenore Williams (East Liberty), Robert Deac Dressing (Pleasant Hills), Louise Schoppe (Ken Mawr), Ann Strong (Sewickley), Elsie Knappenberger (St. Andrews).
