Our guest speaker will be Pam Marvin, a native Texan and graduate of Texas A&M. She is a wife and mother of 5 who converted to the Catholic faith 20 years ago. Pam is a team leader with Regnum Christi and facilitator of the Endow program for women based on the writings of Blessed John Paul II. She will share how the Blessed Mother has accompanied her on her spiritual journey. Copies of St. Louis de Montfort s book, True Devotion to Mary, and Fr. Michael Gaitley s book, 33 Days to Morning Glory will be available free for distribution at the meeting. All are welcome. Breakfast refreshments will be served. PLEASE SUPPORT our Advertisers on the two pages of Bulletin Ads. They help make possible this Sunday Bulletin for our parishioners and we thank them. Liturgical Minute No. VII Year of Faith God s Self-Revelation Faith is a gift of God, and it has three dimensions. First, faith lights up our minds so that we know the truth about God. Second, faith brings about a relationship with God we could never otherwise have. And third, faith propels us forward into eternal life that begins even now. Faith reveals the truth about God, not as the answer to a philosophical riddle, but instead, faith reveals God as our friend. Friendships involve self-disclosure. So when God gives the gift of faith, he tells us something personal about himself he tells us about his love as Father, Son, and Spirit. He tells us that he made everything, not out of need, but out of a desire to share his own life. God also tells us about our sins that separate us from his love, and about his Son who saves us from our sins. He tells us about his plans and dreams for us, realized in Jesus. And through scripture and the Church, he communicates treasures beyond the range of human or angelic minds. Grief and the Holidays A Time of Reflection Saturday, December 8th at 9:00am in the Adoration Chapel at St. Joseph Church Presented by: Deacon Gary Nelson The Christmas Holidays can present a difficult challenge for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, whether a family member or friend. Grief and the Holidays will provide practical advice rooted in spiritual precepts to help the bereaved through the Christmas Holidays. It is a myth that the mourning process only takes a few weeks or a few months. There is no timetable for mourning. Feast of the Immaculate Conception Saturday, December 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception a Holy Day of Obligation. Mary under the title of Immaculate Conception is the patroness of the United States. Masses will be offered at St. Joseph Church: Friday, December 7th at and Saturday, December 8th at Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Sunday December 9th St. Joseph Church will observe the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe with a Mariachi Band singing in her honor at the 10:00am and 11:30am Masses.
