1 Bethany Lutheran Church 4500 East Hampden Avenue Cherry Hills Village, CO Bach s Easter Oratorio APRIL 8, 2018, 10:15 A.M. This exciting and inspirational cantata tells the story of the empty tomb in the form of a mini-drama, as seen through the eyes of those who experienced the event first: Mary Magdalene, Peter, and John. Johann Sebastian Bach was not only one of the greatest composers of all time, but also a Lutheran who was intensely focused on expressing his faith through music. We are taking his music out of the concert hall and into a worship setting, as it was originally intended to be performed. Gathering PRELUDE Trumpet Tune in D David N. Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you and worthily magnify your holy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
