2 Saint Mark s episcopal cathedral Newcomers and visitors, the community of Saint Mark s welcomes you. We hope that you will feel at home in this place and in this liturgy. Ushers are available during the liturgy as well as greeters and clergy following, should you have any questions or concerns. Mothers are most welcome to breastfeed their infants during the service. Children of any age are always welcome at Saint Mark s liturgies, although child care during services is available in the Child Care Center, now located in the St. Nicholas Building to the north of the Cathedral; ask an usher to direct you. As part of our effort to serve those who cannot attend worship, this service will be livestreamed on the internet. If this raises concern for you, we encourage attendance at one of our other services each Sunday which are not livestreamed 8 am, 9 am, 7 pm, and 9:30 pm. We are grateful for your presence and participation in this community. Please be aware that incense will be used at this service. If needed, ushers can direct you to seating that will be relatively incense free. Out of respect for the liturgy we are about to celebrate, please turn off all cell phones and audible devices. They cried out in a loud voice, saying, Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb! And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, singing, Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen. Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, Who are these, robed in white, and where have they come from? I said to him, Sir, you are the one that knows. Then he said to me, These are they who have come out of the great ordeal; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason they are before the throne of God, and worship him day and night within his temple, and the one who is seated on the throne will shelter them. They will hunger no more, and thirst no more; the sun will not strike them, nor any scorching heat; for the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of the water of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Presider Do you believe in God the Father? Assembly I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. Presider Do you believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God? Assembly I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. Presider Do you believe in God the Holy Spirit? Assembly I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
