We have served Montrose and surrounding communities with God's love through Jesus Christ since 1831; and invite you to join with us in this long tradition of service. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. And all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. 4 Glory to you Lord Christ Matthew 5:1-12 When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain; and after he sat down, his disciples came to him. Then he began to speak, and taught them, saying: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Davis, Deacon The Nicene Creed BCP page 358 The Prayers of the People In communion with all the saints and in the name of Jesus, let our prayers ascend to God whose children we are, saying: For the Church: especially Michael our Presiding Bishop, Sean our bishop, the Diocese of Northwestern PA, and for all other ministers that we may daily turn to God for strength, vision, and courage to be faithful disciples, let us pray to the Lord. For this parish family, that we who share in the heavenly feast may be joined together with those of all times and ages in one Body of faith, service and ~ 4 ~

5 witness to God, let us pray to the Lord. For peace in our world and in our cities, that God will open our minds and hearts to respect the dignity of every human being, let us pray to the Lord. In thanksgiving for those who have gone before us in the faith, that we may be inspired by them to greater efforts to live the Gospel and trust in God's gift of salvation, let us pray to the Lord. For all those in need of our prayers, remembering especially Margaret, Brad, Joe, Rick, Jennie, Sarah, Becky, Sara, Klye, & Kathy., that they may taste God s goodness in this life and be filled with peace, let us pray to the Lord. For those who have died, remembering especially.. that they may celebrate the feast the Lord has prepared on the holy mountain, let us pray to the Lord. Lifting our voices with all creation, with Mary the God-bearer, with the spirits of the blessed, with the holy patriarchs, prophets, and martyrs, and all the saints and souls of God, let us offer ourselves and one another to the living God through Christ. To you, O God, we give glory and praise. Celebrant: Blessed are you, O Lord our God, for the triumph of Christ in the lives of your saints. Receive the prayers we offer this day and make us one with all your saints in the fullness of Christ's body, so that we may rise again to glory with him who is Lord for ever and ever. Trehab & WNEP Channel 16 Feed a Friend Trehab & WNEP Channel 16 are asking all area churches for dessert food collection: including CANNED PIE FILLING, BOX PIE CRUST, BOX CAKE MIXES and PREPARED CANNED ICINGS. All Monetary Donations are always welcome to help defray the cost of the turkeys and extra supplies. We will need all donations no later than Sunday November 5th. All donations stay in Susquehanna County. UTO (United Thank Offering) Our collection for the UTO will be held on Sunday, November 18, If you have not picked up a box to add your thankful coins to, or an envelope, they are at the entrance of the Church. Placing the box in sight of you, and /or family members is a great way to say thank you to God for all He has done for you. ~ 7 ~

8 The Vestry will meet to prayerfully discern the qualities we are looking for in a new priest and why. We invite and encourage the parish to join us in this work. Due to the timing of these meetings, we will provide a light dinner. Our next meeting will be on Nov. 8 everyone is welcome to attend. The Vestry values your input. Please come share your insights as we work through the questions that will help us to submit a profile showing a prospective new priest what our parish has to offer and how much more we want to be able to offer in the future. The Diocese will then post this profile to various sites where prospective new priests will look. The Vestry looks forward to your participation in this important process. SLEEPING BAGS FOR THE HOMELESS IN AMERICA Thank you to all who have brought in needed articles for the sleeping bag project. At this time, BLANKETS are the most needed. They do not need to be perfect but only clean. Please consider marking your calendars for the second Wednesday and/or second Saturday of each month to join in making the sleeping bags. We meet at 1:00 in the new Room #1 downstairs We can arrange a work table in the parish hall for those who cannot use the stairs. Our sleeping bags are delivered to shelters in three states, PA, NY and NJ where most needed at the time of distribution. Blessings! Carol M. ~ 8 ~
