2 P AGE 2 V OLUME 4, ISSUE 4 Consecration & Confirmation, cont. On Sunday, April 19 th 2015 Bishop Dan Edwards, the parishioners of Epiphany, Fr. Dale Augustin, Interim Priest in Charge, and Deacon Sam Morford celebrated The Dedication and Consecration of a Church along with Confirmation. 174 were in attendance at the 10:00 a.m. service. Five were confirmed.: Christina Farr, Lisa Haley, Tristen Guzman-Walsh, Kelly Morgan, and Mary Valentine. Each confirmee received a prayer shawl. For the first time we had an Organ (donated by Grace in the Desert), a brand new Celebrant s Chair, Deacon s Chair, Acolyte Bench, Sanctuary Lamp, Holy Water Font in the Narthex, Aspergillum & Holy bucket, kneelers and our very first Fair Linen on the Altar. At the Celebrations of Life we had 3 birthdays and 2 wedding anniversaries. Quoting our Bishop, he stated that Epiphany was doing everything that the Episcopal Church had to offer, with the exception of a Burial for the Dead today. Everyone laughed. escript Rewards Program Shop at Vons or Fresh and Easy and help Epiphany! 1. Go to 2. Go to Sign Up (in the upper right corner.) 3. Enter your name and info, including zip code. 4. 3 GOOD NEWS FROM E PIPHANY P AGE 3 Italian Dinner May 9 Peter and Mary Valentine once again opened their lovely home to host the Italian Dinner fund raiser this time to a sold out house. Mary again did the cooking, and it was a real treat, with shrimp ravioli and her scrumptious bread pudding. A great time was had by all. The youth group and the Valentine grandchildren were the servers. This story can fit words. The subject matter that appears in newsletters is virtually endless. You can include stories that focus on current technologies or innovations in your field. You may also want to note business or economic trends, or make predictions for your customers or clients. If the newsletter is distributed internally, you might comment upon new procedures or improvements to the business. Sales figures or earnings will show how your business is growing. Some newsletters include a column that is updated every issue, for instance, an advice column, a book review, a letter from the president, or an editorial. You can also profile new employees or top customers or vendors. Caption describing picture or graphic.
4 Page 4 V OLUME 4, ISSUE 4 Mother s Day May 10 All of the parents, especially the mothers, as well as everyone else in the congregation, were surprised and delighted when the children appeared and performed a rousing rendition of Here I am Lord - especially the refrain! It was the children s way of letting God know where they werenow that Epiphany had changed physical locations. After the service, the youth handed out carnations to all the women present. It is a lovely tradition at Epiphany. escript Rewards Program, continued from Pg 2 But wait, you say I don t go to Vons, I go to Smith s! You can help Epiphany too! 1. Unfortunately, the editor cannot get the coffee hour picture to print (?). Baptism and Adoption May 31 Francis Rocha was baptized May 31st between the 8 and 10 am service. Mike, Kelly and Jack Snyder receive thanksgiving for an Adoption of a Child at the 10am Service. Julia Snyder s (baby) adoption is final - Julia is part of the family forever. These sales are always a lot of work in advance, and this year we could have used some extra help getting ready. However, the day of the Rummage Sale was beautiful and well attended by both buyers and Epiphany helpers, including several of our youth Connor & Brendan Graves, Christina Farr, Emily Baker, and Tristen Guzman-Walsh. They carried bags to cars for our customers and assisted with heavy items. The sale netted >$700 a good amount for the first Rummage Sale in our new home. A small trampoline that was donated did not sell, so now the youth have a new toy in their classroom!
