7 Announcements for May 6, 2018 Take time to check out what s happening Mother s Day Luncheon Pulse Deep Dive Vacation Bible School Wednesday Night Activities High School Baccalaureate Ladies Who Lunch Graduates Prayer Shawl Ministry Recognition Lost and Found Pulse & Ignite Youth Groups Chronic Illness and Caregivers MOTHER S DAY LUNCHEON Women s Christian Service Fellowship (W.C.S.F.) is hosting the Annual Mother s Day Luncheon on Saturday, May 12 at 11:30 a.m. in Souers Hall. This year s theme is Mother s Pearls of Wisdom. The luncheon will be a potluck with entertainment to follow. If your last name begins with A-M, bring a dessert for twelve people. If your last name begins with N-Z, bring a salad for twelve people. The luncheon is open to all women of the church. Sign-up sheets are in the breezeway before and after services, or you can make reservations by calling the church office at (623) FREE COMMUNITY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL REGISTRATION Registration forms for Vacation Bible School (VBS) are now available in the breezeway and church office. Our theme this year is: Beach Party Surfin With Jesus. This week-long ministry will serve children from 3 years old to 5th grade, Monday, June 4, through Friday, June 8, from 6:30 8:00 p.m. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL HELP NEEDED Beach Party Surfin With Jesus Adults and youth are needed for this important ministry to the children in our community. See the sign-up sheets in the breezeway to find a job that matches your talents! There will be an organizational meeting on Wednesday, May 30, from 6:00 7:00 p.m. Dinner and child care will be provided. This is an important meeting to attend if you are planning to help. 8 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL DECORATING Beach Party Surfin With Jesus All are invited to decorate our campus for Vacation Bible School on Thursday, May 31, from 1:00 4:00 p.m. Our goal is to turn the campus into a Beach Party! Come with energy, and be ready to have some fun! HIGH SCHOOL BACCALAUREATE SERVICE A Baccalaureate Service will be held on Sunday, May 20, at 5:00 p.m. in the sanctuary to honor high school graduates. Please mark your calendars as we celebrate this significant achievement and the beginning of a new adventure in the lives of our young people. A reception will be held in Souers Hall immediately following the service. If you have a family member who is graduating from high school and would like to be included in the service, please contact Pastor Kerri at ksandusky@clp.church by Wednesday, May 16. ALL GRADUATES If you have a family member who is graduating from high school, college, graduate school, or trade school, please contact the church office by Monday, May 14, so we can offer our congratulations. Call the church office at (623) , or officemanager@clp.church. RECOGNITION On Sunday, May 20, (during the 9:15 a.m. service) we will recognize Scott and Gwynn Henline. The Henlines have been teaching children at The Church at Litchfield Park for almost three decades. PULSE AND IGNITE YOUTH GROUPS Pulse and Ignite Youth Groups meet today in Souers Hall. Ignite (6 th -8 th graders) will meet from 4:30-5:30 p.m.; Pulse (9 th -12 th graders) will meet from 5:30-6:30 p.m. There will be Bible study, fellowship, and lots of fun! Tonight there will be a meeting for all parents of youth going on this year s mission trips, at the following times: 4:15 p.m. for Ignite and 6:30 p.m. for Pulse. The meetings will be in Souers Hall. Youth groups will not be meeting on Mother s Day, May 13. All 6 th -7 th graders are invited to a Friday Night Fun Night on Friday, May 18, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in Souers Hall. The evening will be filled with lots of teambuilding and discussion! Permission slips are available in the breezeway and are due by Monday, May 14. 8

9 PULSE DEEP DIVE All 9 th -12 th graders are invited to Pulse Deep Dive at the home of Joe & Carrie Bemis on Monday, May 14, from 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. There will be dinner, a thought-filled study, and prayer. Please don t hesitate to call the church office at (623) if you have any questions. WEDNESDAY NIGHT ACTIVITIES Wednesday night children s activities conclude with the 4C children s choirs meeting at their regularly scheduled time. The menu for the 6:00 p.m. dinner is BBQ, chips, salad and dessert, which will be the final dinner for the season. All are welcome to enjoy a concert by the 4C Children s Choirs beginning at 6:15 p.m. After the concert, there will be fun in Palm Court to celebrate this end of a great choir season. WOMEN S FELLOWSHIP CIRCLE 1 is meeting at La Loma Village on Wednesday, May 9, at 11:30 a.m. for our year end luncheon. All women are welcome. PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY The Prayer Shawl Ministry is meeting from 1:00-3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, in Fireside Room North. The shawls are given to those in need as a reminder of God s everlasting love. This is a gift that keeps on giving and is such a rewarding ministry. 10 LOST AND FOUND If you have lost a sweater, jacket, hat, sunglasses, one earring, etc., it may be in the Lost and Found in the office. Please come in and claim your missing item before it goes to the Thrift Shop. The office is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CHRONIC ILLNESS AND CAREGIVER S SUPPORT GROUPS Sunday, May 13, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the Chronic Illness and Caregiver s Support Groups will both meet. The Chronic Illness Peer Support Group meets in the Fireside Room North with Richard Wilharm & Kathy Bilak, who hope to provide an opportunity and the space for people living with a long-term illness to get together and share stories and experiences, while giving each other empathetic, emotional, and practical help. The Caregiver Support Group meets in Classroom 3 with Marcy Clement and Pastor Lynne who hope to teach and encourage self-care, as well as provide a forum of support and understanding from others facing similar situations.
