7 Announcements for July 20, 2014 Take time to check out what s happening Youth Mission Trip Worship Service Acolyte Training Outreach Sunday School Thrift Store Nursery Staff Faith & Family Night Youth Groups Fellowship Store Feed My Starving Children El Paso Mission PRAYERS FOR YOUTH Please be in prayer for our youth this week as they are in Los Angeles on their summer mission trip. The youth will be serving in a variety of mission sites. Check the church website, daily for updates. Photos will be added each day. ACOLYTE TRAINING TODAY All youngsters, 3 rd grade and higher, who are interested in becoming acolytes, please plan to attend a training class in the sanctuary at 11:30 a.m. TODAY. CHILDREN S SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday School is available year-round for the 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services. There is a class for children ages 3 and 4, one for children in kindergarten through 2 nd grade, and one for children in the 3 rd through the 5 th grades. The nursery is available for all 3 services. NURSERY STAFF INCREASE Due to greater attendance in the nursery, we have increased our staff to three caregivers. 7

8 YOUTH GROUPS RESUME JULY 20 TH The youth groups will not meet today due to their mission trip. Both groups will resume next Sunday. Ignite is the new name of the youth group for students going into 6 th - 8 th grade. The group meets in Souers Hall from 11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. on Sundays. The Pulse youth group consists of youth going into 9 th - 12 th grades and meets from 5:00-6:30 p.m. in Souers Hall Sundays. FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN Both Ignite (6 th - 8 th ) and Pulse (9 th - 12 th ) youth groups will be serving at Feed My Starving Children on Saturday, August 9 th. We will meet at 8:00 a.m. and return at 1:00 p.m. Any youth who would like to participate, please sign up in Souers Hall. Parents are welcome! YOUTH-LED WORSHIP SERVICE On August 3 rd, our Ignite and Pulse youth will be leading the worship services. Please plan to come and see how God is renewing the lives of our youth! OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY We are seeking help for our annual ministry at Western Sky Middle School for this upcoming year. Each early dismissal day, a team from the church heads to Western Sky to provide activities for students throughout the afternoon. Students are able to play board games, computer games, and games in the gym. We also provide crafts for kids. There are lots of opportunities for adults to share their interests with the students. If you would like to help out with this ministry, please sign up in Souers Hall. Please see Pastor Kerri if you have any questions. THRIFT SHOP The Thrift Shop is now ready for your donations. Please call Monica Sproull at (623) or Millie Ezell at (623) to schedule a drop off time. Please remember when donating that items need to be clean and in working order. The Thrift Shop is run by the Women s Christian Service Fellowship. 8

FAITH & FAMILY NIGHT D BACKS vs. PADRES Sign up for the Arizona Diamondbacks Faith & Family Night on Saturday, August 23 rd, at 5:10 p.m. Join your church family for a night of fun and fellowship with churches from across Arizona and for a post-game concert performed by special guest Third Day. The cost is $50 each for Clubhouse seats, section 209, rows 9-11, which includes $5 snack money. Sign up in Souers Hall between services. Deadline to purchase your tickets is July 27 th. GOLF SHIRTS Golf shirts are back! We have new church golf shirts for men, women and children. Come and see them in Souers Hall. EL PASO MISSION TRIP The deadline for signing up for the El Paso Mission Trip, on October 5 th 11 th, is Sunday, August 31 st. Whatever your skills, we can use you.
