1 EUCHARISTIC BENEDICTION AND DEVOTION TO THE SACRED HEART Divine Mercy of Our Catholic Church Galloway - Mesquite, Texas 75149
2 O Salutáris Hóstia, Quae caeli pandis óstium: Bella premunt hostillia: Da robur, fer auxillum. Uni Trinóque Dómino, Sit sempitérna glória; Qui vitam sine término, Nobis donet in pátria. Amen. O Salutáris O Sacred Heart O sacred heart O Love divine Do Keep us near to thee And make our hearts So like to thine That we may holy be. Ref: Heart of Jesus, hear O Heart of love divine Listen to our prayer Make us always thine. O temple pure O house of gold Our heaven here below What sweet delight What wealth untold From thee do ever flow. Repeat Ref: Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Pr: In the name of the father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. All: Lord Jesus Christ, you have promised that where two or more are gathered in your name, you will be in the midst of them. Look down, then, with love and compassion upon us here before you to honor your Sacred Heart and to make it known and loved by all. Come into our midst, gentle Jesus, fill our hearts with blessings and inflame them with your love. Pr: O Jesus, look upon those who kneel before you. All: Heart of Jesus hear and grant our prayers. Pr: Divine heart of Jesus All: To you we have recourse. In you we find consolation when afflicted, protection when persecuted, strength when overwhelmed with trials and light in doubt and darkness. We firmly believe you can bestow on us the graces we implore. We are most unworthy of your favors, but you are the God of Mercy and will not refuse a contrite and humble heart. Remembering your words: Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you ; mindful, too, that from your Sacred Heart have come words of tenderness and pleading love: Come to Me, all of you that labor and are burdened, and I will refresh you ; we come to you now with childlike confidence to make our pleas in this Novena. (Pause here to make your petition.) But, if what we ask is not for the glory of God and the saving of souls, answer our prayer in the way you know is best. Whatever may be your decision with regard to our request, we will never cease to adore, love and serve you. Amen
3 Pr: O Jesus, answer our petitions as we kneel before you. Heart of Jesus hear and grant our prayers Pr: Let us pray All: O almighty and eternal God, look upon the heart of your dearly beloved Son and upon the praise and satisfaction He offers you in behalf of sinners, and, being appeased, grant pardon to those who seek Your mercy, in the name of the same Jesus Christ Your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen Sacred Heart Litany Pr: Lord, have mercy on us All: Christ, have mercy on us. Pr: Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us. All: Christ, graciously hear us. 5 The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy (To be recited on ordinary Rosary Beads) The Our Father Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name; Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not Into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen The Hail Mary Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen The Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and Earth, I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. On the Our Father Beads say the following words: Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for Our sins and those of the whole world. On the Hail Mary Beads say the following words: For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (Repeat for all five decades) Conclude with (three times): Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Jesus, King of Mercy, We trust in you.
