2 The Episcopal Church of St. Bartholomew the Apostle From Fr. Seth Dear friends who make up The Parish Church of St. Bartholomew, It has been such a joy to see returning, familiar faces to the congregation. After such dismal spring weather, it seems that you have brought more than just the joy of your presence, but some real summer weather, as well. I want to reiterate how much we appreciate our summer members for what you bring to our worship and how you enrich our lives by your fellowship and concern. You also helped to make this year possible through your generous response to our appeals last summer to help get our vision and budget on track. We are blessed. This first week of August will mark the second anniversary that Sally and I and the boys pulled into Estes Park. As far as we are concerned, this has been one of the most gracious gifts that God has ever bestowed on us. Working with all of you has been a joy and I look forward to this third year with great anticipation and a little trepidation. I have continuing visions for the Spirituality Center, pastoral care and youth education and programs. I m learning quite quickly of late that I will need partners to help us move forward in mission and ministry. I hope when I gently tap you on the shoulder for some help in one of these areas that God will move your heart to allow you to help St. Bart s become a more vibrant and forward looking parish. Speaking of looking forward, we are looking forward to the completion of the kitchen remodel that has been made possible by the generosity of Marti and Don Bender and the hard work of Marti Bender, Ann and Walt Coleman, Michelle Timbie, Ginger Harris and Fr. Shirey, who all did the planning and leg work to ensure a nice outcome. The work should be done in early August. Until then, we appreciate your patience for the slight inconveniences caused by the construction. A heads up to the parish: Sally and I will be traveling to Michigan and be away from the parish from August We ll miss the Sunday of the 14 th, but be back for the 21 st. We will be spending a week at a small compound along the northeastern shore of Lake Michigan for some R&R, if that is possible with Ivan and Sasha around! Our devoted clergy of the parish should cover all of the pastoral duties. Finally, our baseball team finished their season by qualifying for the league tournament by winning their last two games. Unfortunately we had a tough 6-8 loss on the first night of the playoffs. We had a great season and I am looking forward to doing some fun things with these young people during the coming year. God bless you all, Fr. Seth
