CATHOLIC CHARITIES: Pledge Sunday will be Next Weekend, September 24 th : The Diocesan goal for 2018 is $4,305, The quota for St. Patrick will be $26, (last year the goal was $25,000.00). Our Parish Quota is a challenge; but the more people who participate, the more likely we are to reach and even exceed this quota enabling growth in the services supported by the appeal. THE FLOWERS ON THE ALTAR this weekend are given in honor of Jim Glover and Ray Winell s birthday s and Mr. & Mrs. Ray Winell s anniversary by Barbara Glover. SR. MADELINE CONTORNO, OSB will be here Sunday Sept. 24 th at Noon to talk to those who are interested in grief support and resources. Light refreshments will be served. SUNSHINE CLUB will meet this Wednesday, September 20th. Mass will not be celebrated. Bingo will begin at 11:00 am followed by lunch. REGISTRATION FORMS must be on file for all students attending our parish school of religion / faith formation. Forms are in the Narthex now so please get the forms completed and back to the church office as soon as you can. Thank you. STUDENT DROP OFF: Please do not drop your children off at Faith Formation before 6:20 pm. There is no one in place to see to their protection until 6:20 pm. CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD is underway on Sunday mornings during the 10:00 am Mass. Remember to have your child take their restroom break BEFORE Mass starts. CL is PART of the MASS, so they should be able to remain in the chapel and participate for the short readings and lessons. ADULT FAITH ENRICHMENT will meet in the conference room on Sunday s at 8:30 am. We are currently studying Christ 101, a 10 week apologetics course designed to help Catholics answer questions about our faith. DONUTS AND DOCTRINE will meet in the St. Joseph Hall on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm on the same weeks that Faith Formation meets. Enjoy multimedia presentations, primarily through videos, that explore our faith. Discussions and questions are welcomed but not required. Parents with students attending Faith Formation, as well as all parishioners are welcome to attend this faith enrichment video series in a relaxing atmosphere complete with refreshments including donuts! The current presentation is Catholicism, a thematic view of our faith. Each video stands on its own and can be viewed independently of the others. SVdP Meeting: The next SVdP meeting will be Thursday 09/28 at 6:30 PM in the St. Joseph Hall. Come and see what we are about. All are welcome to join us. SERVICE DRIVE: The SPIRIT Service Drive, is an opportunity that gives SPIRIT Youth the chance to help parishioners and other friends of SPIRIT with yard work, odd jobs, or other assistance in exchange for a donation to help offset SPIRIT functions. No work too big and no donation too small. If you have basic odd jobs you d like help with, please contact Dale Blanchard to request help. Donations are requested at the end of the job. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! SPIRIT would like to thank everyone who contributed to our Pray & Wash last Sunday. We were able to put a large dent in our NCYC registration cost. We would also like to thank the Knights of Columbus and The Ladies Auxiliary for their donations for our trip. RENEWAL OF WEDDING VOWS October 15 at St. Stanislaus - The annual Renewal of Wedding Vows program, sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council 10567, will be held on Sunday, October 15 at the 8 a.m. Mass at St. Stanislaus. All couples who have a milestone wedding anniversary (5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, etc.) are invited to participate. The program has been held every year since The Fourth Degree will provide an Honor Guard during the ceremony. Parishioners from St. Patrick and St. Stanislaus can sign up to participate in the St. Patrick narthex or contact Family Director Larry Cannon at lcannon44@bellsouth.net. PECAN SALE: The Ladies Auxiliary is taking orders for 1 pound bags of pecan halves at $12.00 per pound. We will be in the St Joseph Hall after each Mass next weekend to take orders. Just as last year, these are new crop pecans and they will be available in plenty of time for your holiday baking. COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP: The Alabama State Kouncil of Auxiliary Ladies of the Knights of Columbus will award a $750 scholarship to two (2) deserving women. Each recipient must be a practicing Catholic living in Alabama. She may be a high school senior, someone already in college, a woman who would like to return to college, or one desiring to pursue a graduate degree. To apply please submit a cover letter explaining why you desire the scholarship, your planned career and why you feel you deserve this scholarship along with a resume including your parish, academic standing, volunteer activities, and organizations to which you belong with two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from your Parish Priest. Entries must be postmarked by November 30, FAMILY FUN KNIGHT: Knights of Columbus is sponsoring Family Fun Knight on Thursday, September 21 st at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph Hall.

4 TEXAS RELEIF: After careful consideration of the enormous needs in and around Texas and how we as a parish can best help, ensuring that all donations go directly to those in need, we are in the process of collecting funds to be forwarded to St. Catherine s Parish in Port Arthur Texas. St. Catherine is a small parish with a K 8 school. Not only has the school been damaged, many of the parishioners have suffered heavy damage to their homes. Please make checks out to St. Patrick and note Texas Relief in the memo line. Please be as generous as your means allow. Fr. Vernon F. Vernon, he has asked that you (or an immediate family member if you are too ill) contact him through the church office. The surest way of getting the message to Father is by speaking to him personally during office hours or calling the church office and leaving a message either on the answering machine or with a member of the office staff. DAILY MASS MINISTRY: Volunteers are needed to be Lectors and Extraordinary Ministers during Daily Mass. If you would like to serve please check in at the office 15 minutes before Mass begins. LOST AND FOUND: There are several articles in lost and found. Please call the Church Office for assistance.
