Registration forms are available in the foyers or online Sacramental Preparation Baptisms: Baptism preparation class is required for all parents and godparents, and they must be registered in a Catholic parish and members in good standing. Contact the parish office to schedule an appointment. Marriage: All engaged couples participate in a Marriage Preparation Program (a policy of the Diocese of Colorado Springs). Contact the parish office AT LEAST ONE YEAR IN ADVANCE of your planned marriage to begin preparation. Sacrament of the Sick/Emergencies: Dial , x1002. Calls are monitored on a regular basis. 4 HOLY TRINITY CATHOLIC CHURCH November 27, 2016 November 27, 2016 From the Pastor Dear Brothers and Sisters, Almost like bookends to the Gospels, we find a word first used by the angels and then by Christ Himself. That word is peace! At the birth of Christ, the world is filled with angels who swirl down upon humble shepherds. After one explained the good news of great joy, it seems that the others came out of hiding bursting with a dramatic exclamation. Here is what we read in the second chapter of St. Luke s Gospel: And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those in whom his favor rests. At the end of the Gospels, the Risen Christ appears to the disciples with the greeting Peace be with you! and sometimes even repeats it. He is the Prince of Peace. Let us in this Advent season open our hearts to this peace that He comes to bring. Let our parish family be an oasis of peace. Let all who enter through our doors find peace. Let our gift to one another this Christmas be that of the peace that we have found in our Merciful Lord, the peace that only Christ can give (cfr John 14:27). And let us remember the simple yet profound words of Mother Teresa: Peace begins with a smile! With my prayers for a blessed Advent season, Advent Retreat Holy Trinity will host Archabbot Lambert Reilly, OSB, for an Advent Retreat entitled Mercy s Manger on December 12 and 13 beginning with reflection at 6 pm followed by adoration and confession at 6:45 pm and ending with refreshments at 7:15 pm. Archabbot Lambert, a monk of St. Meinrad Archabbey, has distinguished himself as a retreat director to priests, religious and laity throughout the nation. He is a Missionary of Mercy. Christmas Food Baskets Advent is near and Christmas is coming!! We provided Thanksgiving meals for 65 families. It is now time to gear up for Christmas food baskets. The items we are going to need for Christmas are: Scalloped Potatoes Muffin Mix Canned Vegetables Boxed Candy Canes Food collection bins can be found at both entrances of the church. We will be collecting these items for Christmas from 11/19 through 12/11/2016. We are also accepting cash donations for the purchase of hams, fresh produce and Christmas dessert. We will listen and pray with you Pro-Life Rosary Please join the Knights of Columbus on Friday, December 2, at 6:30 p.m. for a Pro-Life Rosary, followed by Mass and a potluck supper. In the Pro- Life Rosary, we will pray for those babies in danger of abortion, for families who wish desperately for a child, for pro-life legislators and judges throughout our country, for sacramental marriage, and for religious freedom. All are welcome to join us in prayer and for fellowship in the Hope House following Mass Facebook Cookies for our Neighbors The Holy Trinity Ladies Guild is putting together homemade assorted Christmas cookie plates for the fire department, McKenzie Place, and the 28 medical campus offices in our neighborhood. This is a gesture of goodwill to make ourselves known in the neighborhood as a place that is open and welcoming and wants to serve our neighborhood community. We enclose a flyer with our parish information and a Christmas Thank You card. We need about 100 dozen cookies, and we would like to invite you to help because "many hands will make little work."
