Dr. Michael Fraser, a clinical psychologist will take us through the steps to learn best practices for social media usage and our families. All are welcome to join us for a very informative morning. We know you love St Francis parish, the sermons, the music, the community you find here and are sure you want to support all the good work that goes on here. Clean heart Clean hands We are all most aware that it is Flu Season. Just a reminder that we have antibacterial soap dispensers at the doorways of the church on either side. (in the foyer) You are welcome to take advantage of them as you think is necessary. Lent really is coming soon. And so we are planning our next session of Small Christian Community Prayer sessions. This is a very special way to mark the Lenten season, by coming together with other parishioners for one hour each week to reflect together on the Sunday Scriptures. If you are interested in participating please let us know. An to Jayne is all you need. Our sessions will be: Mondays at 6:30 Wednesdays at 10:00 am Thursdays at 6:00pm Sundays at 2:00PM IN SPANISH. We surely hope you will make time in your Lent for a bit of prayer with your parish family. Welcome Next Sunday we are very excited to Welcome Fr Matt Malone SJ to lead us in worship at our 11:00 am Mass. Fr Malone is the editor of America Media (formerly America Magazine) and has helped us out on occasion when we had our Sunday evening Mass. We are looking forward to introducing him to the rest of the parish on Feb 11 and letting him see just how amazing St Francis de Sales truly is. 5 Ready or Not, Here Comes Ash Wednesday!! Our Ash Wednesday services will be as follows: 7:00 am Mass; 12 Noon-prayer service; 6:00 pm Mass. Several weeks ago, on one of the coldest nights of the year, our new Youth Group began! Teens and team members gathered at THE TABLE for questions, conversation, pizza, prayer and fun. The 'reviews' have been terrific. If you are a teen (grades 7-12) or a parent of a teen, our next meeting will Saturday, Feb. 3. We will meet again at THE TABLE immediately after the 5pm Family Mass. It is the most amazing gift to be a part of someone s faith journey. We have one of the few YEAR ROUND processes in the Archdiocese of NY. That means that anyone can begin their journey by coming to ask their questions at any point in the year. It also means that we always love to have parishioners join us, helping with hospitality and making strangers feel welcome on any Monday night. If you have cookies in your house that you know you shouldn t be eating why not bring them by on a Monday night and stay for the conversation? If you like to bake or want to donate a case of water come join us for prayer and some faith talk. Get to know our inquirers and let them learn about SFDS by meeting you. We gather at 7pm in the parish house and you (and your friend with questions about the Catholic church) are always welcome.
