Roadmap To Success Campaign Goes Parish-wide This Week The Roadmap to Success Task Force, made up of St. Mark Parishioners representing various age groups and interests, met throughout the past fiscal year. The Task force recommended to me that our immediate need in the school is a new HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, Air-Conditioning) system, which will improve the overall environment, health and safety of our children, teachers, and staff. The present heating system is 60 years old and all of its parts are out-of-date, and only about 40% efficient. The new system will be 95% efficient. At the same time, Saint Mark School has experienced rapid growth in the past tow years, gong form 179 to 252 students. Thank you Mr. Rusty Albertson, our principal, teachers, staff, parents and all involved in the exceptional growth pattern. St. Mark School is very alive and well. The cost of the HVAC project is $500,000. To raise funds, the Roadmap to Success Campaign got underway the first week in October, and as of November 30th, we crossed the 60% mark in the quest of our goal. The fundraising campaign is accomplished in stages. Major donors have been tapped up to this point. Now, we need the participation of everyone in the parish. Pledges both large and small will be required. The pledge you make will be in addition to your regular Sunday collection, as we still need to meet the day-to-day expenses of the parish, in the meantime. This is a capital campaign; this is not a special collection. Therefore, I need to boldly ask you to make a sacrificial commitment, over and above your regular Sunday envelope. For many of us, that will mean we need to make a pledge to the Roadmap to Success Campaign, so that our commitment can be paid over time. This can be done over a period of one-to-three years. If you have already been called upon to make a commitment, please return your pledge to the office as soon as possible. For those who have already returned your pledge card, I offer my deepest and most sincere gratitude to you for helping us to get to 60% of our goal. You know the kids deserve this and you are making it possible for us to offer them the best, most up-to-date environment we possibly can. If you have not already been called up to this point, you will be receiving information in the mail this week, explaining the program, offering circles of giving suggestions, and requesting that you return your pledge card to the office, either by mail or in the Sunday collection. The goal is to get the needed pledges in by the end of January. Thank you everybody. This is a very big project for us, and one which we know that we can achieve if everyone is willing to sacrifice for the improvement of our school environment, which will in turn enhance the overall quality of our parish family. May the good Lord, who is generous to us, reward your for your generosity.
