Jimmy Hsu, CSP was recently ordained priest of the Paulist Fathers on May 24, He will begin his first assignment as a priest here at St. Paul the Apostle starting July. Fr. Jimmy grew up in Plano, TX, and met the Paulist while attending college at the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with a degree in philosophy. After graduation in 2008, Fr. Jimmy joined the Paulist community, drawn by the sense of mission and joy shown by the Paulist priests that he had met. During seminary, Fr. Jimmy attended the Catholic University of America, where he earned a Masters of Divinity in Catholic theology. During his as a Paulist seminarian, Fr. Jimmy had experienced ministry in a variety of Paulist parishes and parishes around the DC area. Most recently, Fr. Jimmy served as a deacon at the Cathedral of St. Matthew in Washington, DC, where he coordinated a series of small group faith discussion groups, prepared couples for marriage in addition to serving in sacramental roles. Reading 2 ROM 8:18-23 Brothers and sisters: I consider that the sufferings of this present time are as nothing compared with the glory to be revealed for us. For creation awaits with eager expectation the revelation of the children of God; for creation was made subject to futility, not of its own accord but because of the one who subjected it, in hope that creation itself would be set free from slavery to corruption and share in the glorious freedom of the children of God. We know that all creation is groaning in labor pains even until now; and not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, we also groan within ourselves as we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.
