Mk 6:31 If, after an initial period of silent Adoration, you feel a desire to pray, read or write, then you simply allow yourself to move naturally into whatever activity you feel led to do at each moment. Reading the scriptures, pamphlets, or books is always appropriate, and many people also like to pray the Rosary or make the stations of the Cross. Traditional prayers in preparation for Holy Mass or in thanksgiving after Mass can also be very fruitful, particularly when they are addressed directly to Christ in the Eucharist. In the Garden of Gethsemani, before His crucifixion, Jesus asked His Apostles, Could you not keep watch with me for one hour? Spending one hour with Jesus thus became a tradition in the Church. Every First Friday of the month we will begin Devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus at 5:30 p.m. Tenth Sunday of Ordinary Time Today, Jesus looking around those seated in the circle said, Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother. Through your almsgiving you are indeed doing the will of God and your gift to St. Vincent de Paul indeed brings Christ s love and compassion to the poor.
