Southern Swing 2017 S O U T H E R N S W I N G From: N.Y. To: G.A. We ll find God along the way... A p r i l 2 4, t h r o u g h A p r i l 3 0, Oh God, Come to my Assistance - Oh Lord, Make Haste to Help Me Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit - As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever.
M o n d a y, A p r i l 2 4 t h Our Father Hail Mary Apostles Creed: From the Holy Church on the Hill...To the holy places on the road I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. On the Lord s Prayer Bead : On the Decade Beads: Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. For the sake of His sorrowful passion Chaplet of Divine Mercy...Have mercy on us and on the whole world. (x10) Repeat Refrain and Decade Beads for a total of 5 times for the remaining beads of the Rosary. At the conclusion of the five decades, sing: Oh Holy God, Oh, Holy Mighty One, Oh, Holy Immortal One, Have mercy on us, Have mercy on us, Have mercy on us and on the whole world. (x3)
T u e s d a y, A p r i l 2 5 t h Psalm 139: Broadway on the Beach Praised be the God and Father Of our Lord, Jesus Christ, Who has bestowed on us in Christ Every spiritual blessing in the heavens. God chose us in Him Before the world began To be holy And blameless in His sight. He predestined us To be His adopted children through Jesus Christ Such was His will and pleasure, That all might praise the glorious favor He has bestowed on us in His beloved. In Him, and through His blood, we have been redeemed, And our sins forgiven, So immeasurably generous Is God s favor to us. God has given us the wisdom To understand fully the mystery, The plan He was pleased to decree in Christ. A plan to be carried out, In Christ, in the fullness of time, To bring all things into one in him, In the heavens, and on the earth. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit - As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Scripture Reading ~ Our Father ~ Closing Prayer
W e d n e s d a y, A p r i l 2 6 t h Brookgreen Gardens and the Carolina Opry How great is your name, O Lord our God, through all the Earth. Your majesty is praised above the heavens; On the lips of children and of babes You have found praise to foil your enemy, To silence the foe and the rebel. When I see the heavens, the work of your hands, The moon and the stars which you arrange, What is man that you should keep him in mind, Mortal man that you care for him? Yet you have made him little less than a god; With glory and honor you crowned him, Gave him power over the works of your hand, Put all things under his feet. All of them, sheep and cattle, Yes, even the savage beasts, Birds of the air, and fish That make their way through the waters. How great is your name, O Lord our God, Through all the Earth! (Psalm 8) Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and Will be forever. Amen. Scripture Reading ~ Our Father ~ Closing Prayer
T h u r s d a y, A p r i l 2 7 t h Prayer for Peace: Charleston, South Carolina O Lord Jesus Christ, Who said to Your Apostles: "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you," regard not my sins but the faith of Your Church, and deign to give her peace and unity according to Your Will: Who live and reign, God, world without end. Amen. Prayer of St. Francis: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring love. Where there is offense, let me bring pardon. Where there is discord, let me bring union. Where there is error, let me bring truth. Where there is doubt, let me bring faith. Where there is despair, let me bring hope. Where there is darkness, let me bring your light. Where there is sadness, let me bring joy. O Master, let me not seek as much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love, for it is in giving that one receives, it is in self-forgetting that one finds, it is in pardoning that one is pardoned, it is in dying that one is raised to eternal life. Scripture Reading ~ Our Father ~ Closing Prayer
F r i d a y, A p r i l 2 8 t h Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Introductory Rites Penitential Act First Reading: Acts of the Apostles (5:34-42) Psalm Response: One thing I seek: to dwell in the house of the Lord Gospel Acclimation: Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia One does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. Gospel: John (6:1-15) Homily Petitions Eucharistic Prayer Sanctus: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of Power and Might, Heaven and Earth are full of Your Glory, Hosanna in the Highest! Blessed is He who comes in the name of The Lord! Hosanna in the Highest! Memorial Acclamation: We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your Resurrection until you come again. The Lord s Prayer Sign of Peace Agnus Dei: Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace. All: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. Communion Dismissal
F r i d a y, A p r i l 2 8 t h Middleton Place & Magnolia Plantation and Gardens Most high, all powerful, all good Lord! All praise is yours, all glory, all honor, and all blessing. To you, alone, Most High, do they belong. No mortal lips are worthy to pronounce your name. Be praised, my Lord, through all your creatures, especially through my lord Brother Sun, who brings the day; and you give light through him. And he is beautiful and radiant in all his splendor! Of you, Most High, he bears the likeness. Be praised, my Lord, through Sister Moon and the stars; in the heavens you have made them, precious and beautiful. Be praised, my Lord, through Brothers Wind and Air, and clouds and storms, and all the weather, through which you give your creatures sustenance. Be praised, My Lord, through Sister Water; she is very useful, and humble, and precious, and pure. Be praised, my Lord, through Brother Fire, through whom you brighten the night. He is beautiful and cheerful, and powerful and strong. Be praised, my Lord, through our sister Mother Earth, who feeds us and rules us, and produces various fruits with colored flowers and herbs. Be praised, my Lord, through those who forgive for love of you; through those who endure sickness and trial. Happy those who endure in peace, for by you, Most High, they will be crowned. Praise and bless my Lord, and give thanks, and serve him with great humility. (Canticle of the Sun) Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit - as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
S a t u r d a y, A p r i l 3 0 t h Savannah, Georgia Refrain: A voice cries out in the wilderness, prepare the way for the Lord! Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Refrain Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. Refrain Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David. See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples. Refrain Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the LORD your God. Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. Refrain Scripture Reading ~ Our Father ~ Closing Prayer

S u n d a y, A p r i l 3 0 t h Home Sweet Home Lord, we are heading home again, And we lift up our hearts in a song Of gratitude for the blessing of our Journey. Holy Guide of Pilgrims and Travelers, You have been our personal escort upon this journey. We are grateful For all we have seen and experienced For all the beauty we have met For the places we have visited. Lord, it is good to be home again. Our time away has opened out eyes to see our home and belongings with greater appreciation. May this joy be a taste of the happiness awaiting for us when we finally come home to you. In that final homecoming, we shall feast upon the fullness of Your Love as we are surrounded by the affection of loved ones who have now returned to you. Blessed are You, Lord of All Who Travel, For Your holy and gracious care while we traveled and for bringing us home safely again. Amen.
