1 Quranic and Prophetic Nurturing Program Level One Class 12 Date: 28 October 2018 / 19 Safar 1440 Introduction Surah Al Kafiroon Surah Al Ikhlas and Surah Al Kafiroon are recited together, usually in the Fajr Sunnah and after performing tawaf. Both of these surahs are regarding ikhlas. Surah Al Kafiroon is about negation while Surah Al Ikhlas is about affirmation. Surah Al Ikhlas is theoretical tawheed and Surah Al Kafiroon is practical tawheed. Kafiroon comes from (كفر) which means to hide the truth. There are different types of disbelief which include disbelief of arrogance, denial, shirk, mockery, hate and hypocrisy which is the worst type of disbelief. The kafiroon said they will worship Allah and the other year the Muslims would worship their god. A person needs to worship Allah (جل جلاله) with tawheed. Quran Section Surah Al Kafiroon Ayah 1 ق ل ي ا أ ي ه ا الك اف ر ون Say: (O Muhammad صلى هللا عليه وسلم to these Mushrikun and Kafirun): "O Al-Kafirun (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, in His Angels, in His Books, in His Messengers, in the Day of Resurrection, and in Al-Qadar)! This is addressing all of those who disbelieve in general. Ayah 2 ل أ عب د م ا ت عب د ون "I worship not that which you worship, 1 P a g e

2 (المعنى العام ( Meaning General (المفردات) Words ل أ عب د م ا ت عب د ون ل أعبد ما تعبدون من الصنام واللهة الباطلة I do not worship what you worship I do not worship what you worship from idols and false gods The Prophet (ﷺ) is to tell them I do not worship what you worship. Ayah 3 و ل أ نت م ع ابد ون م ا أ عب د "Nor will you worship that which I worship. (المعنى العام ( Meaning General (المفردات) Words ول أنتم عابدون ما أعبد من إله واحد هو هللا رب العالمين المستحق وحده للعبادة و ل أ نت م ع اب د ون م ا أ عب د Nor will you worship what I worship And you will not worship what I worship from One God, and He is Allah Lord of the Universe, Whom He alone is worthy of worship Ayah 4 و ل أ ن ا ع ابد م ا ع ب دت م "And I shall not worship that which you are worshipping. This is for the future, I will not worship what you worship. Ayah 5 و ل أ نت م ع ابد ون م ا أ عب د "Nor will you worship that which I worship. They will not worship what the Prophet (ﷺ) worships. Ayah 6 ل ك م دين ك م و ل ي دين "To you be your religion, and to me my religion (Islamic Monotheism)." For them is their deen, and for you is yours. 2 P a g e

3 (المعنى العام ( Meaning General (المفردات) Words ل ك م دين ك م و ل ي دين لكم دينكم الذي أصررتم على اتباعه ولي ديني الذي ل أبغي غيره For you is your deen and for me if my deen For you is your deen which you insist on following and for me is my deen which I do not want anything else besides it (ما معنى العبادة ) worship? What is the meaning of All actions of the heart, tongue and limbs which Allah (جل جلاله) loves. The pillars of worship are: 1. Love 2. Hope 3. Fear The conditions of worship: (جل جلاله) 1. Ikhlas: sincerely for Allah (ﷺ) 2. Following the Sunnah of the Prophet Questions: (من أمر هللا ) command? It is not a place for making business, asking for things, making contacts, finding girls and so forth. A mosque which is not established for the right intentions will not have any barakah.
