1 ال خ و ف ع ل ي ه م و ال ه م ي ح ز ن ون No Fear Upon Them Nor Do They Grieve 1 رجب Day 9 There are three places in the Qura'an in which Allah negates fear and grief from His slaves. األ خ ال ء ي و م ئ ذ ب ع ض ه م ل ب ع ض ع د و إ ال امل ت ق ني On the Day of Judgement, everyone will flee from each other. Very close friends of dunya will be like enemies, except those with taqwa. Friendship requires taqwa to purify it. It is easy to make friends for dunya, for some worldly benefits, or even to fulfill your desires. The fiend who is a muttaqi will fight his desires, and make the friendship purely for the sake of Allah. When you claim you are doing some thing for Allah, you will be tested for your sincerity. You will find something that you dislike in that relationship, to see whether you are actually doing it for the sake of Allah, or to follow your own desires. Allah wants to purify your intentions, so something will happen which is against your desires, something you will hate. If you are doing it for the sake of Allah, then you will not care, and carry on. In all the chaos of the Day of Judgement, these friends will remain by your side. For this everlasting friendship, you must fight your own desires, overlook the faults of your friend, have easy communication with him. ي ا ع ب اد ال خ و ف ع ل ي ك م ال ي و م و ال أ نت م ت ح ز ن ون ه ل ي نظ ر ون إ ال الس اع ة أ ن ت أ ت ي ه م ب غ ت ة و ه م ال ي ش ع ر ون Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not? األ خ ال ء ي و م ئ ذ ب ع ض ه م ل ب ع ض ع د و إ ال امل ت ق ني Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous ي ا ع ب اد ال خ و ف ع ل ي ك م ال ي و م و ال أ نت م ت ح ز ن ون [To whom Allah will say], "O My servants, no fear will there be concerning you this Day, nor will you grieve, ال ذ ين آم ن وا ب آي ات ن ا و ك ان وا م س ل م ني [You] who believed in Our verses and were Muslims. اد خ ل وا ال ج ن ة أ نت م و أ ز و اج ك م ت ح ب ر ون Enter Paradise, you and your kinds, delighted." ي ط اف ع ل ي ه م ب ص ح اف م ن ذ ه ب و أ ك و اب و ف يه ا م ا ت ش ت ه يه األ نف س و ت ل ذ األ ع ني و أ نت م ف يه ا خ ال د ون Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold. And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally. و ت ل ك ال ج ن ة ال ت ي أ ور ث ت م وه ا ب م ا ك نت م ت ع م ل ون And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do. ل ك م ف يه ا ف اك ه ة ك ث ير ة م ن ه ا ت أ ك ل ون For you therein is much fruit from which you will eat سورة الزخرف 43:66-73 Allah makes this announcement, that on the Day of Judgement, such a distressful day, those who love for the sake of Allah, will have no fear or sorrow. To have righteous friends is very important. The one who has taqwa will praise what you serve him, thank Allah, and make dua' for you. The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said : ال ت ص اح ب إ ال م ؤ م ن ا و ال ي أ ك ل ط ع ام ك إ ال ت ق ي. جامع الترمذي حديث # 2395 Do not accompany except a believer, and do not serve your food except to one with Taqwa.

2 It is such an honour to be addressed by Allah in this way, don't be afraid of any stage of the Day of Judgement, don't give the past, you are in security and happiness. ال ذ ين آم ن وا ب آي ات ن ا و ك ان وا م س ل م ني Their characteristics are mentioned by Allah; they believed in all the signs of Allah, and submitted to Him. Everything in front of them is a sign of Allah for them, and they believe in all the signs. They submit to Allah in every situation in life. They will be on a platform of light on the Day of Judgement, shaded under the Throne of Allah, envied by everyone. You must believe in Allah in every decree, and every sign, and submit to Him. Make that your focus, in all matters. صلى اهلل عليه و سلم The Messenger of Allah said : قال اهلل عز وجل : املتحابون في جاللي لهم منابر من نور يغبطهم النبيون والشهداء. رواه الترمذي ' رياض الصالحني كتاب # 1 حديث # 381 Allah, the Exalted, has said: For those who love one another for the sake of My Glory, there will be seats of light (on the Day of Resurrection), and they will be envied by the Prophets and martyrs. They are between the apparent and the hidden deeds. When you believe and submit to Allah, you get taqwa automatically. صلى اهلل عليه و سلم The Messenger of Allah said : إن اهلل تعالى يقول يوم القيامة أين املتحابون بجاللي اليوم أظلهم في ظلي يوم ال ظل إال ظلي. رواه مسلم رياض الصالحني كتاب # 1 حديث # 377 On the Day of Resurrection, Allah, the Exalted, will say: Where are those who have mutual love for the sake of My Glory? Today I shall shelter them in My Shade when there will be no shade except Mine The main theme of the Surah Az-Zukhruf is التحذير اإلنخضاع املادية Beware of the material adornments of dunya Don't be deceived by the glitter of the dunya. Material trappings look attractive from the outside. Friends can even come under the category of adornments. Don't look only at the outer adornment, focus on the taqwa. The word زخرف also refers to outer embellishments, like a hollow friendship, not deep or real. صلى اهلل عليه و The Messenger of Allah : said سلم ع ظ م ال ج ز اء م ع ع ظ م ال ب ال ء و إ ن اهلل إ ذ ا أ ح ب ق و م ا اب ت ال ه م ف م ن ر ض ي ف ل ه الر ض ا و م ن س خ ط ف ل ه الس خ ط. سنن ابن ماجة حديث # 4031 The greatest reward comes with the greatest trial. When Allah loves a people He tests them. Whoever accepts that wins His pleasure but whoever is discontent with that earns His wrath.

3 و ال ت ح س نب ال ذ ين ق ت ل وا ف ي س ب يل اهلل أ م و ات ا ب ل أ ح ي اء ع ند ر ب ه م ي ر ز ق ون And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision, ف ر ح ني ب م ا آت اه م اهلل م ن ف ض ل ه و ي س ت ب ش ر ون ب ال ذ ين ل م ي ل ح ق وا ب ه م م ن خ ل ف ه م أ ال خ و ف ع ل ي ه م و ال ه م ي ح ز ن ون Rejoicing in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His bounty, and they receive good tidings about those [to be martyred] after them who have not yet joined them - that there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. ي س ت ب ش ر ون ب ن ع م ة م ن اهلل و ف ض ل و أ ن اهلل ال ي ض يع أ ج ر امل ؤ م ن ني They receive good tidings of favor from Allah and bounty and [of the fact] that Allah does not allow the reward of believers to be lost سورة آل عمران 3:169:171 Allah tells us the virtues of the martyrs, and what Allah honored them with. Anyone who dies in battle is not dead. ع ند They are alive. The words position. show their high ر ب ه م When Allah says,ي ر ز ق ون it shows that they are being provided with all kinds of provision. They are happy for the favours of Allah, which they get as soon as they die. People see them as dead, but they are actually alive, with Allah. They are rejoicing about the martyrs who will come after them, will follow them, and will get the same favours. This is for those who die in battle against the disbelievers, for the sake of Allah. There are many rules regarding the jihad. Those who blow themselves up, killing innocents, are not martyrs. و ب ي ن ه م ا ح ج اب و ع ل ى األ ع ر اف ر ج ال ي ع ر ف ون ك ال ب س يم اه م و ن اد و ا أ ص ح اب ال ج ن ة أ ن س ال م ع ل ي ك م ل م ي د خ ل وه ا و ه م ي ط م ع ون And between them will be a partition, and on [its] elevations are men who recognize all by their mark. And they call out to the companions of Paradise, "Peace be upon you." They have not [yet] entered it, but they long intensely. و إ ذ ا ص ر ف ت أ ب ص ار ه م ت ل ق اء أ ص ح اب الن ار ق ال وا ر ب ن ا ال ت ج ع ل ن ا م ع ال ق و م الظ امل ني And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people." و ن اد ى أ ص ح اب األ ع ر اف ر ج اال ي ع ر ف ون ه م ب س يم اه م ق ال وا م ا أ غ ن ى ع نك م ج م ع ك م و م ا ك نت م ت س ت ك ب ر ون And the companions of the Elevations will call to men [within Hell] whom they recognize by their mark, saying, "Of no avail to you was your gathering and [the fact] that you were arrogant." أ ه ؤ ال ء ال ذ ين أ ق س م ت م ال ي ن ال ه م اهلل ب ر ح م ة اد خ ل وا ال ج ن ة ال خ و ف ع ل ي ك م و ال أ نت م ت ح ز ن ون [ Allah will say], "Are these the ones whom you [inhabitants of Hell] swore that Allah would never offer them mercy? Enter Paradise, [O People of the Elevations]. No fear will there be concerning you, nor will you grieve." سورة األعراف 7:46-49 The people of the A'araf, in the middle of the Jannah and the hellfire, those whose good and bad deeds will be equal. They will await their fate. They will make salaam to those who have already entered Jannah, hoping to also enter. So Allah gives them the glad tidings of entrance to jannah. This is a great honour. Their deeds were not enough to result in this great reward, so out of the mercy of Allah, He takes them to Jannah. Entering Jannah will remove all fear and grief. The mercy of Allah is so vast, they wanted to enter Jannah, and Allah made it a reality for them.

4 ال خوف عليكم وال أنتم تحزنون في الدنيا In the worldly life إتباع الهدى سورة البقرة 38 Following the guidance اإليمان باهلل + اليوم اآلخر+ العمل الصالح سورة البقرة 62 Belief in Allah + the Day of Judgement + righteous good deeds اإلخالص + اإلحسان سورة البقرة 112 Sincerity + excellence تخلية النفقة سورة البقرة 262 Purifying the spending تحلية النفقة سورة البقرة 274 Beautifying the spending اإليمان + العمل الصالح + الصالة + الزكاة الفرائض سورة البقرة 277 Belief + righteous good deeds + prayer + zakaat obligations اإليمان + العمل الصالح سورة املائدة 69 Faith + righteous good deeds اإليمان + اإلصالح سورة األ ن ع ام 48 Faith + reform التقوى + اإلصالح سورة األعراف 35 Taqwa + reform اإليمان + التقوى أولياء اهلل سورة يونس 62 Faith + taqwa special companions of Allah قول ربنا اهلل + اإلستقامة سورة األحقاف 13 Saying our Lord is Allah + remaining firm upon it في اآلخرة In the hereafter التقوى سورة الزخرف 68 Taqwa
