In the December FMCA magazine, p. 45, are listed a number of FMCA issues on which to vote. Remember, your vote counts! The Christmas Party at the Club on base was a huge hit. As usual, the sit-down served meal was delicious. The club is always festively decorated and they had a fire going in the fireplace. Everyone voted to have it again next year. Anita Harris and Bobbie Oleson did a fantastic job of arranging things and presentation. Allene Gross and Linda Malseed were helpful elves. The gift exchange is always fun. Several of the more desirable gifts went around three times. Again, my thanks go out to our officers of We have Paula Kavanagh as Vice President, Robert and Linda Malseed as Treasurers, Allene Gross as secretary, Ted Harris as newsletter editor, Bob Kavanagh as webmaster, and Jamie Erickson as our National Director. It is due to the hard work of these individuals, as well as our wagon masters that our club continues to thrive. The officers elected for 2019 are: Robert Gross is President; Paula Kavanagh is Vice President; Linda stuff to The Web Master Bob Kavanagh at cotigrone@msn.com Malseed is Treasurer; and Allene Gross is secretary. Some comments on the secretarial position. Jo Harris was originally elected to be secretary for However, due to health issues (stroke) Jo was unable to fulfill the secretary position. There was a rule in our club charter that officers could only hold a position for four consecutive years, and Allene Gross four year term had been reached. However, at the annual meeting this year, the four year limit was rescinded, and Allene has graciously stepped in and taken the secretarial position for a fifth year. At the Christmas party, this executive decision on my part was confirmed by a 100% positive vote among the membership represents the 50 th anniversary of the Chaparral Club. This is a fantastic achievement! I believe that the actual month that this occurs is in July. Steve and Christine Reid, Sandy Uhl, and Linda Malseed have graciously volunteered (i.e., been drafted) to plan a special celebration in honor of this event. For 2019, our Vice-President Paula (with constructive input from others, again thanks) will put together a fabulous RV and event schedule. Since Allene and I just recently came back from over five weeks of RVing, it s my fault that planning for this schedule has been delayed. At our monthly Furrs meeting this Thursday, we will begin planning for 2019 RVing. Also, in the news, one of our honorary life members, Perry Key, turned 100 this year! We went to his birthday party, which was great. Perry is absolutely amazing still very mentally sharp after all these years. Bud Clark went in for heart surgery last Wednesday (the 12 th ). We have heard that the operation was a success and Bud came through it very well. However, he will be in intensive care for 3-4 days. So, during this Christmas season, let s keep him in our thoughts. Also, as always, let s take time out to keep in our thoughts other club members that are ill, having operations, or are otherwise unable to take to the road. 3 AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS PARTY IT WAS Here s Diane & Don and Jan & Bud checking out the fireplace. Bud went to Hospital shortly after the party for planned heart surgery. He and Jan are back home now and recovering nicely we hear (and hope and pray). Get well Bud Let s go RVing. 3

7 Quickie in the Bushes There are two statues in a park; one of a nude man and one of a nude woman. They had been facing each other across a pathway for a hundred years, when one day an angel comes down from the sky and, with a single gesture, brings the two to life. The angel tells them, 'As a reward for being so patient through a hundred blazing summers and dismal winters, you have been given life for thirty minutes to do what you've wished to do the most.' 'Getting lucky' means you find your car in the parking lot. 'OLD'IS WHEN... An 'all nighter' means not getting up to use the bathroom. AND. You are not sure these are jokes? He looks at her, she looks at him, and they go running behind the shrubbery The angel waits patiently as the bushes rustle and giggling ensues. After fifteen minutes, the two return, out of Breath and laughing. The angel tells them, 'Um, you have fifteen Minutes left, would you care to do it again?' He asks her 'Shall we?' She eagerly replies, 'Oh, yes, let's! But let's Change positions. This time, I 'll hold the Pigeon down and you shit on its head.' AND WHAT WERE YOU THINKING???. Your sweetie says, 'Let's go upstairs and make love,' and you answer, 'Pick one; I can't do both!' Your friends compliment you on your new alligator shoes and you're barefoot.. Going braless pulls all the wrinkles out of your face. You don't care where your spouse goes, just as long as you don't have to go along.
