EVANGELIZATION CORNER GOSPEL: MARK 9;2-10 Reflection on Today s Gospel: We refer to the Gospel today as the Transfiguration. Peter, James and John alone with Jesus on a mountaintop and they see Jesus transfigured (changed) right before their eyes. They see the glory of God shine through Jesus, and they hear a voice from a cloud say, This is my beloved Son, Listen to Him. As we begin the Second week of Lent in our Lenten desert, we hear God s voice in today s Gospel. We hear a command that can make a difference everyday of our lives. God says Listen to Him. List ways we can listen to Jesus. List may include prayers, more attention at Mass, reading of Scriptures, etc.

We ask that those who come to the Mass, please bring two (2) cans of chicken soup. Both cans will be blessed one will go to a local soup kitchen for the needy; the other you take home to share with your family along with bread that will be blessed by our priest for this special occasion. Youth Service Volunteers In the coming weeks, the Youth Office will be providing Volunteer Service Applications to begin a New Youth Project. This project will be to create an outlet for our Catholic Youth to serve just two hours a month, as well as, receive Community Service Credit that is required in many Jersey City Schools. We are looking to start performing Arts, Senior Citizen Outreach Support, and Youth Coffee House Program at our Youth Center located in the Star-Lite Building at 3487 Kennedy Blvd. Basic information on this project can be accessed by visiting our new Web Site: JCresident.com.
