5 Ark of the Covenant "On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old; that they may possess the remnant of mankind and all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the Lord who does this thing. Amos 9:11-12 NKJV What does Amos 9:11-12 mean? God is setting us free in certain areas. He s changing you, and He s already changing me. Did you know that David had a tabernacle? God said He would restore it. Apostle James, who was a pastor at the church in Jerusalem, quoted those verses and explained what that day of restoration meant when God began restoring David s tabernacle. Verse twelve says, that they may possess the remnant of Edom and all the gentiles who are called by My name. The tabernacle of David that He is restoring is correlated with what God is doing right now in the earth. Though it is in the Old Testament, it is fully realized in the New Testament.

6 In 1 st Chronicles 15, we see the ark of the covenant being brought back into Jerusalem. It says that, David spoke to the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers accompanied by instruments of music, stringed instruments, harps, cymbals, by raising the voice with resounding joy. We are all priests and kings unto to God. We re a part of the kingdom of God and it is a kingdom of priests. The ark of the covenant and the glory of God in Jesus Christ is in us right now. When we walk out into the street, when we get in our cars, when we go to eat lunch or wherever we are going, we are bringing the tabernacle of David with us.

7 How? The tabernacle of David was a tent with the glory of God inside the ark. People would go there and they would worship twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week, around the ark of God. It was prophetic of what He is currently doing. No matter where we are in the world somebody is worshipping and praising God. When missionaries are in Columbia worshipping the Lord, we re going to be worshipping God here. Twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week people are continually worshipping God somewhere on the earth. Why? God has been restoring His tabernacle which is the place where He abides. He said, I will tabernacle among My people. You will be my people and I will be your God. We have a great God and David understood the importance of appointing singers to worship Him around the clock. As a priest, David wore fine linen robes with the Levites who bore the ark even though He was now a king. David had a different heart, a different spirit. He was a New Testament man even though he was

8 still under the old covenant. He was prophetic of what the New Testament believer would be like a prophet, a priest and a king. Some of us are prophets, and we are all priests and kings unto God. The fine linen David wore is symbolic of the righteousness of God. It shows that He was clothed with God s righteousness. Today, we are clothed within and we are clothed without. As new Christians, the Spirit of the living God came to live on the inside of us. He became our best friend. When He baptized us in the Holy Spirit, we received the power of the God to be His witness. Just like the clothing David wore, we have power of God on the inside and the outside of us.

9 God's Approval God, who knows the heart, showed that He accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as He did to us. He did not discriminate between us and them, for He purified their hearts by faith. -Acts 15:8-9 (NIV) The tabernacle was a wonderful place of music and showed what the house of God ought to be like the way that it s going to be in Heaven. It s been said that the flowers and grass sing to you in Heaven. Even Hollywood is making more movies about Heaven and about the things of God. Why? God Almighty is beginning to take back what has been stolen from Him. David wrote psalms for the tabernacle of David. One of them was, give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the people Sing to Him. Sing songs to Him. Talk about His wondrous works. Glory in His holy name. let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord and His strength seek His face evermore. The word face comes from a Hebrew that means presence. He was a man after God s own heart. By His example, we know that when we are

10 worshipping God, we are seeking His face; we are seeking His presence and He will speak to us. David left his brothers before the ark of the covenant to worship the Lord twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week. He had teams of worshippers, Levites, and priests worshipping before the throne of God. It was prophetic of our current day. Next we are going to see how James quotes the Old Testament to bring it into the New Testament to show what God is doing in our midst today. Acts 15: 8-9 exemplifies that the only way our hearts are purified is by faith. It s not what we do for God, although that s good, if He initiates it. But what is done by His grace; He gives us faith to believe it, we obey it and He gives us a reward later for it. There s no fruit in trying to keep the law. God puts His laws in our hearts. He gives us His Spirit, His word and His grace to enable us to walk those laws out. It takes place from the inside out. We can t do it in our own strength. How many have tried and failed? I am glad for the grace of Christ. The Apostles and Elders kept silent and listened as Paul declared how, by faith, the many miracles and wonders God had worked through Himself and

11 Barnabas among the Gentiles (Acts 15). He began to tell the litany of all the miracles, signs and wonders that had been released in people s lives. This confirmed what Peter had told them. It was with those words that the prophets agreed it was true as it was written. James believed that everything Peter, Paul, and Barnabas said was true and could be substantiated. He confirmed it through God s word when he began quoting Amos 9: After this he says, I will return and rebuild the tabernacle of David which has fallen down. The tabernacle of David is symbolic of the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember in

12 Amos 9:10-11 it says, in that day I will return and restore the tabernacle of David. The prophet was speaking prophetically of the day Jesus would be raised from the dead. On the resurrection day, God, through Jesus Christ, began to restore David s tabernacle. It is here that we see James putting it in context that the words of the prophets are for today.

13 Presence of God You will show me the path of life; In your presence is fullness of joy; At your right hand are pleasures forevermore. -Psalm 16:11 (NKJV) David s tabernacle was a place of worship and joy. God is continuing to rebuild in this hour so that the rest of mankind may seek His face. Houses of worship and churches are set up so that people will come and sense the presence of God. He doesn t want people to fear His presence because in His presence is fullness of joy. His presence is powerful. His presence brings healing, it brings restoration, it brings salvation, it brings joy. A young lady had brought her fiancé to our church in New Orleans and said, whatever you do, don t blow this guy s mind. Be careful what you tell him. She introduced us and I told the young man, this is going to be a little bit different than your Presbyterian church. I can identify with you because I was a Presbyterian. But this is going to be a little bit different. We really get free here. There comes a time in the service where some of us get really happy and we like to roll on the floor. The only

14 thing I d ask you is that you would get really close to your seat so that we don t roll over your feet. He and his fiancé quizzically and nervously glanced at each other, and then I said, gotcha! The humor of that moment brought joy and broke the ice. The young man was baptized in the Holy Spirit one month later. Getting back to Amos 9:13-15, you may be wondering why James didn t quote it in its entirety. He quoted the first part because Jesus began to set up the tabernacle of David when He was raised from the dead. However, it wasn t yet time for the last three verses to be restored. And we re going to see why. (Hint: the time is now.)

15 Behold the days are coming, says the Lord, when the plowman will overtake the reaper and the treader of grapes, him that sows seed. The mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and all the hills will flow with it. I will bring back the captives of my people Israel. They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them. In James day, it wasn t time for that. In 70 AD, Israel was scattered and stayed scattered for 2000 years. In 1948, God brought them back to their own land and this is when the latter part of the prophecy is fulfilled. The blessings (Amos 9:13-15) are for today. Faith in Action And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: "They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever." Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. -2 Corinthians 9: 8-10 (NIV) Years ago, I had a $700 financial need. I asked the Holy Spirit for help and He me gave me these scriptures 2 Corinthians 9:8-10; Amos 9: I

16 asked Him, God what does Amos 9 have to do with money? I ve always interpreted this verse as the last day harvest of souls. He said, it is, but it also has to do with seed planting which is financial and so this scripture is for you. He said, you see, David, this is a New Testament scripture hidden back in the Old Testament. It couldn t be activated back then. Not all of it. The first part of it was activated when Jesus rose again. James confirmed that. The second part of it could not be fully activated until Israel became a nation again in Still unsure, I asked Him what I should do and He directed me where to sow a financial seed as a revelation on offerings beyond the tithe. I did what He asked and within 48 hours, a person handed me $1,000. About a year passed, and I had a similar need for the same amount. I asked the Lord for direction again; He gave me the same scriptures and in 36 hours I had $1,000 again. Time passed quickly before I made another offering with that revelation in mind. Several months ago the Lord inquired of me on this topic. He said, you haven t moved on this promise for a long, long time. If you don t move on it none of My people are going to move on it. I gave this to you but I also gave this to you to share on the revelation of offerings. Offerings based on Amos 9:13-15

17 couldn t be fulfilled in James time because Israel had not yet been restored as a nation. Now that it has been, this promise is for all of us. It s going to break things open for us. It s going to break things open for our finances. I asked God about the scripture that says, cast your bread on the waters and after many days it will return to you. The Lord said, yes, that s Old Testament. This is now.

18 Increase and Blessing "Yes indeed, it won't be long now." God's decree. "Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won't be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills..." -Amos 9:13-15 MSG God wants to bless every single one of us. In Luke 10:42 (NIV), it says, but few things are needed or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her. Why is that verse in here? Once you understand this revelation, it can t be stolen from you. How many know when you sit at the feet of Jesus with your Bible open and you pray and say oh God, speak to me about this particular thing. And He confirms it, nothing can steal it from you. As a 2 Corinthians 9:8-10 and Amos 9:13 sower, you can be confident to walk in increase and blessing. It is important to be convinced of this. God is restoring everything that His prophets spoke about because it especially affects the church today.

19 There are souls to save, Bible schools to establish, permanent buildings to erect, and missionaries to send. God has provided a latter day store house for us in His promise in scripture. There are four things the Lord is wanting us to know about this revelation: 1. To show us that He is greater than the economic system that we re in. 2. To help us overcome a lack mindset. 3. To remind us that His economic cycle is one of increase and multiplication 4. That compound blessings trumps compound interest.

20 God wants us to walk in His promises. He wants us to be a promise. Wherever you go you can share this revelation with others. That s why the Lord told me, you haven t moved on this in years. I gave this to you not only for you but also for you to release. Share with others and let faith arise in your heart as you witness His promise be fulfilled in your life and the lives of those around you. God has a blessing plan for us and for our finances. The scriptures in Amos 9:11-15 are a prophetic word that is about to be fulfilled. The apostle James in Acts 15 quoted from Amos chapter nine. He quoted about the tabernacle of David being restored. For what reasons? So that the rest of mankind would seek after God. There was great liberty in the tabernacle of David. His tabernacle was a tent with the ark of God in it. In the New Testament, that is what we are. We are an outer tent and we have the glory of God on the inside. People who are hungry will come seek the liberty that the Spirit of God brings and will search it out. There is a reason that James spoke about the 11 and 12 th verse but left out verses Those verses had to do with the restoration of Israel as a nation. At that particular time Israel was intact but by 70 AD they would have been scattered by Rome.

21 In 1948 Israel was restored as a nation. Not only does this have to do with Israel s restoration but the 13 th verse is for all of us today. It says, the time will come when the plowman will overtake the reaper and the treader of grapes him that sows seed. James could not prophesy those verses in his day because Israel had been scattered as a nation. Now that the nation is no longer scattered and is back together that verse takes on a strong significance. God s blessing plan is encrypting your finances. As believers, our finances must have goals in mind. We can reap the rewards of sowing financial seeds. However, there are important spiritual principles governing this process. Below is a review

22 concerning tithes and offerings. 1) The tithe designates God s ownership and Lordship over our money and protects everything else. The Bible says in Romans 11:16, if the firstfruit is holy then the lump is holy. And if the root is holy so are the branches. This is prophetic and speaks about the fact that as we tithe it separates our money and opens the way for offerings to be blessed. 2) Seed offerings need to be planted for a specific purpose. A farmer plants for a specific crop (corn, wheat, potato etc.). As such, we also need to have a specific goal in mind for our offerings when we plant them. 3) The seed is God s word. (Mark 4:14). The sower sows the word. Words get planted as seed and later bears fruit. Seed is also money. 2 Corinthians 9:10 says, may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed that you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness. Supply and multiply. A pastor in our church had a vision during a worship service where she saw young angels

23 all over the ceiling. They were laughing amongst each other with cards in their hands that they were tossing back and forth. They began dropping them and it was revealed that they were multiplication cards. The Lord said that He was bringing multiplication. Matthew 13 says, the field is the world and the seeds are the sons of the kingdom. We see that God s people and money are seeds and the word of God is also seed. 4) The Seed offering must have an assignment. A farmer doesn t absently throw seed on the ground. He has a specific purpose. He is going to sow for specific crop. As such, the seed offering must have an assignment for an expected result. God s word gives both authority and power to that seed offering. The first assignment should be for God s kingdom. The next should be for us to be blessed and to be a blessing. Paul s goal was to be financially free instead of receiving money from the believers he was ministering to. 1 Corinthians 9:18 says, what are my rewards then? That I might preach the gospel, present the gospel of Christ without charge. That I may not abuse

24 my authority in the gospel. He had authority to take offerings but his desire was to be so financially independent that he wouldn t have to do that. Years ago, a young man named Gary Walker walked into my office in New Orleans. He had received a prophetic word that he was going to have a lot of money and that God was going to bless him as a young guy. He came into my office for advice how to receive the income God promised. I asked him, do you have a job? He said, I don t have a job. I inquired further, what do you have? He said, I have faith. I believe the word of God but how do I get from A to B? We re not even talking about C. What do I do? Then the Holy Spirit said,

25 give him ten dollars but tell him to plant it as seed where I show him to plant it. As a result, God will open a door for his job. I took ten dollars out of my wallet and handed it to him with the Lord s instruction. A few weeks went by before he returned to tell me, you know what? I did exactly what you told me to do. I asked God, and He showed me exactly where to plant it. Within a day or so, I had job. I m working for a sign company. I have a nice salary but it didn t stop there. God has multiplied this thing. I got a phone call from the Times Picayune (the newspaper in New Orleans) asking if I would be a model for them. By the time my wife Ina and I left New Orleans a few years later, he was modeling in three or four pages of the Times Picayune. Later we saw him on television doing a car advertisement for Lexus. The ten dollars multiplied and changed Gary Walker s life. 5) Our giving reflects our belief in God s promises. Our reward for sowing bountifully is bountifully reaping. He who sows sparingly will reap sparingly and he sows bountifully will reap bountifully. (2 Corinthians 9:6). Unless we have a goal, we have no expectations. In Proverbs 29:18, without a vision people live carelessly. We should write out our financial goals

26 expecting the Lord to give us reaping grace. Habakkuk 2:2 says, then the Lord answered me and said, write the vision. Make it plain on tablets. That he who reads it may run. It is important to give our seed money authority. When God began revealing this to me, He waited until I was in my office and had my Bible open. I began to write as He began to show me. We are told to use the name of Jesus for whatever we do in word or deed. The Bible says to do everything in the name of Jesus. If you re writing a check, do it in the name of Jesus. Whatever you do in word or deed in the name of Jesus. Write Colossians 3:17, Jesus is our Jehovah Jireh, in the memo at the bottom of our checks as act of faith. It is also important to give our seed money

27 power. You need authority, and you need power. When you got saved, you received salvation. You received the Holy Spirit. The Bible says that no man can call Jesus Lord except by the Holy Spirit. Jesus told His disciples to tarry and wait in Jerusalem until they were endowed with power from on high to be His witnesses. As a seminary student at Princeton, I was saved but questioning God if that was all there was. I needed more. I was pressing Him on this when an engineer with a burden for seminary students came into my room; He had bought books about speaking in tongues to hand them out. I was not in the room when he had come. I had to go to another student's room who had thrown his book in the trash can. I asked if I could have his copy. He said, "Sure, it's in the can over there". I read the book until 4:00 am. Every policeman, when sworn in by city hall, is given a badge that is his authority but he s also packing heat on his side that is his power. You need authority and you need power. Amos 9:13 says, the days are coming when the plowman will overtake the reaper and the treader of grapes sows seed. This means that the blessings will be so great that Amos compares them to a land producing so quickly and so richly that it is difficult to finish one

28 cycle before the next one begins. We re living in the days of miraculous returns (Amos 9:13). The Lord fulfilled this promise to me twice when I needed $700 and then received $1000 return. God is not a respecter of persons, once you have experienced it, you can continue to experience it. God told us to sow a seed offering of $30 to Oral Roberts Healing Ministry. Two days later we received a check for $1000. This was the second time we received that amount when acting in faith on the revelation that God showed in Amos 9. It is a New Testament scripture hidden back in the Old Testament. In these days, we need this miraculous increase. The Lord shared this blessing with me and now it is passed on to you. Thirdly, it is important to name your seed, to give it authority and power to produce and increase. Remember that God has called us to be fruitful and multiply, not only in our families but in all things. He is calling us back to the first dominion. Micah 4:8 says, And you, oh tower of the flock, the stronghold of the daughter of Zion, to you shall it come even the former or the first dominion shall come the kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem. What s the first dominion? It s the dominion that Adam had before he fell. We couldn t get there on

29 our own. We got there because the last Adam, the Lord Jesus Christ, took our place. He took our sins, our sicknesses, our iniquities. He left them on the cross and rose again. He made a new and living way for us to the Father through His blood. Now we can have faith to believe God that He has restored dominion to you and I. This dominion is not only spiritual, it s emotional, physical, financial and relational. It covers every area of our lives. 2 Peter 1:3-4 says, God has given us everything that we need for life and Godliness.

30 Everything is established by two or three witnesses (2 Corinthians 13:1). Where there is an Old Testament scripture, we have a New Testament scripture. We have the authority and the power of Almighty God behind us to see our seed succeed. Isaiah 55:11 says, His word will not return to Him void but will prosper in the thing for which He sent it. The assignment for the seed offering has three witnesses for it the authority of the name of Jesus, the power of God s word and our obedience to it. Reaping bountifully starts with bountiful ideas. God is going to give bountiful, wonderful, creative thoughts. He ll give great ideas. You could have a situation where you plant a seed and suddenly something happens for you. My father planted his last five dollars when we were broke and several thousand dollars in debt which was a lot in the 1940s. Our car was falling apart and we were losing our house. He planted that five dollars to the local church and within one week, he had a new car, a new job and we were out of debt. The Lord arranged a divine meeting where he met a man who had a seat at the stock exchange. This man told my father that he would make a great security analyst and eventual stock broker. My dad had not thought about that but a Godly idea was

31 planted. After he began his new trade, he became the number one producer year after year after year in his security firm. It was a Godly, bountiful idea. This is part of the process of Amos 9:13 and its manifestation. God will do this by all grace in all things for us. What are all things? Life and Godliness. When we are intentional with our offerings, God will be intentional with us. An example in the Old Covenant, in the first five chapters of Leviticus, specific offerings were given - sin offering, trespass offering, wave offering, burnt offering and grain offering. Each offering was intentional and had intended results. Remember the twelve spies that

32 looked at the new land. Ten of the spies were fearful because they saw giants while two spies, Joshua and Caleb, were faithful when seeing the giant grapes of the new land. The giants are spirits of fear. People will say, there s a depression coming. There s a worse recession than You better watch out for this. You better watch out for that. And by the way, if you subscribe to my newsletter it will only cost $1400 a year. Remember what the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 11:4, he who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap. In other words, they wait for a better day but the better day is here now. The Holy Spirit puts everything in perfect order. Even as Israel had a portion in the new land so do we. We have an inheritance. We receive the tangible fruit of the land by our tithes and offerings. God has promised to reclaim His true currency in these last days. Haggai 2:6-9 says, For thus says the Lord of Hosts, Once more I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and the dry land. And I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the desire of all nations and I will fill this temple with glory, says the Lord of Hosts. The silver is mine and the gold

33 is mine. The glory of the latter temple shall be greater than the former and in this place I shall give peace, says the Lord of Hosts. God is shaking the economies of the world, and He is restoring the true value of His money in gold and silver. In Acts 3:19-21 the Lord says, Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord and that He may send Jesus Christ who was preached to you before. Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things which God has spoken by the mouths of all His holy prophets since the world began. Is Haggai a prophet? Yes. Is Amos a prophet? Yes. God is fulfilling these words right before our very eyes and ears. Specifically, what does receiving bountifully mean? As the Father blesses you financially, He says in Jeremiah 33:3, call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know. He ll show you where to invest. He ll show you what to do with your finances. The words mighty things or sar in the Hebrew translation means inaccessible things - things that you can t get on your own but you must get through the Holy Spirit. He says, call on Me

34 and I will answer you and show you inaccessible things. God will give you skill to understand. He s sending His angels and speaking to us by His Holy Spirit. Daniel 9:22, He [angel of the Lord] informed me and talked with me and said, Daniel, now I come forth to give you skill to understand. This is part of having the mind of Christ. There s two words mainly used in the New Testament for the word, understand. The first word is sunesis, and it means to analyze or discern. The second word is phronesis, which means to act on what you analyze. It s the ability to not only see something clearly but also to act on it. Everything we have been believing and praying for is about to manifest. The word the Lord gave me

35 ties into Amos 9:13. He said, like turning a corner and running into a glory cloud. Every need will be met as if Heaven has come to earth. Wellness in my people. Financial provision. Prayers speedily answered. As I began to pour My Spirit out on all flesh in the charismatic renewal, so now I will do it worldwide. There will be no room for jealousy or competition. As My Spirit will engulf my people everywhere. I will release My glory, My power, My presence everywhere. There will be a giant Holy Spirit invasion. Believe in the Lord for the harvest He has already prepared.

(Def. :intentionally false and inaccurate information; to convince of untruth). Ex- Normandy landing. The Lord has been seeding us with Truth to combat this disinformation. This is the CHANGE that is occurring. We have been in a time of Transformation and that period of time is Finishing. God s Church is transitioning from Legalism to Grace. He is Revealing the full revelation of Grace which brings change. The next stage is to RUN with the message. You are blessed and highly favored by Jesus Christ! Philippians 4:15-19
