Sarah Martin, Sherry Kistler, and Jason Martin FROM DAYS GONE BY.... Udall section of 1885 news The baseball game at Kellogg between the Udall nine and the Kellogg nine, and the Baptist festival at the farm house during the evening was well attended. Six innings were played by the boys, the score standings Kellogg nine, 17; Udall nine, 29. After the game, all adjourned to the fine grounds adjoining the house, where the Udall Cornet Band discoursed some good music, when supper was announced. After the repast was finished, the beautiful moonlight evening was spent in conversation, croquet, music by the band, singing, promenading, etc. After ice-cream and lemonade was served, the assembled crowd dispersed, well pleased with the day s entertainment. The event was in honor of the starting of the Kellogg mill, which is a fine structure, and should be busily employed, judging from the golden wheat fields which surround the place.
