1 Archives Background This collection has its origins as part of historical records sent to the Connexional Secretary for safekeeping, since the late nineteenth century onwards. The earliest known photographs in the collection, are carte de visites dating from the 1860s. The most recent photograph is the current year. A group project by the Archives volunteers in , has been to put all photographs into acidfree folders, in preparation for cataloguing individual images. These folders were given titles, and the organisation of the collection was based on the previous subject-based arrangement of the collection. Because of the differing size of images, they have been stored in three formats: Standard Large format Outsize When parishes have sent in photographs, these have been separated from the Parish Archives, and stored with the Photographs. Photograph albums have been individually described. Arrangement of There are five groupings: 1. images of churches and parishes, listed in code number order, starting at the top of. 2. national events, including the Conference, official portraits of Presidents and Vice Presidents. 3. portraits of Methodist Ministers in alphabetical order by surname and General Portraits of people in alphabetical order by surname. 4. :, which was assembled by Rev Marcia Baker in her role as Archivist, of portraits of es, group portraits, places and events, Sister Eleanor Dobby Sister Betty Yearbury Youth comprising national events of the Youth Department including conferences and Bible Class activities.
