1 Kingdom Advancing Prayer Matthew 11:11-12 and Mark 1:35 From The Administrative Desk Epistle To 21 st Century Apostles February 2018 In this month s letter I would like to offer you an excerpt from a soon to be released book by Apostle Brandon Bailey titled: Epistles To The 21 ST Century Church. From the late 1990s to the present day Church in 2017, the writings about the Apostolic primarily focused on Apostles and the apostolic ministry and defining the season that modern day bible scholars labelled The New Apostolic Reformation. This term captured that wave and spread globally as it focused primarily on the restoration of Apostles and Prophets to the Church. Kingdom techniques and spiritual technologies such a Kingdom advancing prayer intensifies the power and dedication of the Saints. The initial purpose of the five-fold ministry is for the perfecting or maturing of the Saints, which leads to its next intention, which is the real work of the ministry of Jesus Christ, reconciling the world back to the Father. These books lend themselves as helps in the maturing of the Saints. They add insight and strategies that help in achieving exponential personal growth preparing one for the real work of the ministry. These are volumes of information and revelations needed in such a time as this, when maturity and focus are the needed key components that bring us an overcoming victory in this realm and advance the kingdom of God. These writings are necessary for the establishment of a corporate identity of this new wave. There have been and are many arguments debating the legitimacy and illegitimacy of the 21 st Century Apostles and their functions, but we can rest assured that the Church will not exist without Apostles and apostolic ministry in the near and even distant future. Apostles are restored to the Church and they are here to stay. With this said I am personally convinced that we have entered a different season as far as Apostles and the apostolic ministry is concerned and we must give meaning and expression to the transitional nature of apostolic ministry. God does not change the gifts He gives to His Church but He allows those gifts to evolve to another level in every season of the life of the Church. It is therefore critical for us to understand that the Church of Jesus in the earth is in a continued state of growth and evolution. The Church that was born in the Book of Acts continues to evolve into all that the Father desires Her to become. There has been and continues to be more and more revelation of God being expressed through the Church. For example in the past we have gone from the Tabernacle to the Temple to the Church, the Body of Believers in the present day. We have moved from the Law to Grace, we moved from Judges to Prophets and Kings, from the First Man Adam to The Last Adam in the Lord Jesus. In the same vein with the apostolic we are in a season of enhancement and this quality will steer us to birth the purposes of God accurately in the earth in this hour. There are several expressions of the apostolic in the earth that we have to revisit and perhaps redefine to move the Church of Jesus forward in this hour. Failure to address this will sabotage the Church and completely stifle a momentum the Spirit of God wants to release to the Church in this hour. Emerging Apostles quite often end up following the status quo due to general assumptions about the apostolic calling, which can short-circuit their own

2 ministry office and calling. We have to address this generic approach to apostolic ministry and bring to it greater functionality. There are several assumptions we have to fix in the 21 st Century apostolic ministry is to be progressive and ever evolving. Before we address these assumptions, let us briefly consider what the Apostles from the late 1990s up to the early 2000s were on point about. Creation of an Operational Framework Through Writing Men like Noel Woodroffe, John Eckhardt, Kelley Varner, Peter Wagner, Jonathan David, Michael Scantlebury, Rick Joyner, Tim Early and a host of others in the early days of the Apostolic Wave spend a considerable time writing and developing resources. PRINCIPLES FOR VICTORIOUS LIVING VOLUME I Michael Scantlebury has an obvious anointing. It particularly takes everything ranging from the Lord s and His Apostles teachings to stories within the Old Testament to show us God s providence in supplying us with all that we need to live in the here and now in Kingdom victory. His keen insight that s evident in this book makes everything about the ancient writings of the Bible most current and practical, and can be applied to each day of our lives. The information contained herein is well balanced with a spiritual maturity that keenly stems from wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ. This is the anointing of an Apostle, and the truths that our brother shares will certainly cause you to excel in the Kingdom of God long before this life is over when later we enter the eternals. There s so much to experience today in this life, and Michael extracts so much from the Word of God to facilitate that. These men addressed just what the meaning of Apostle is, defined what an apostolic church is and how it is built and structured apostolically has been clarified. The importance of apostolic doctrines was cemented as in the past, the schoolboy error could be made in that we would experience the glory and fail dismally to capture it in writing. The apostolic ministry is defined by having resources available. Having resources available requires strong writing. The founding fathers of the apostolic wave of the 20 th Century helped the move greatly through their writings. Documenting the wave of glory has established a momentum, which preserves the season in which it happened. In this way there is a record of these various moves of God that the serious Bible student can read and track this continuous growth. The early Apostles wrote, as somehow they knew their writings would preserve that season in God and bring significant understanding to generations not yet born. The Church today is blessed with an operational framework on so many levels because those who were there in the beginning articulated the season with the pen. Gathering Grace These Apostles also carried with them a gathering grace. Countless material in circulation in the form of articles and books exist which historically record the many gatherings in the form of conferences and rallies to dialogue, teach and preach about a particular move of God. Significant moves of the Holy Spirit are typified by gatherings. A wave is never some isolated experience that only a few have access to; it always evolves from small gatherings into significant and meaningful gatherings. The Apostles of the 90s had a grace to gather people. These gatherings focused on teaching, intercession and worship. These Apostles focused strongly on gathering the Saints for the sole purpose of impartation and activation. Relational Dynamics Of The Apostolic It is of great interest to note that most of the Apostles of the 1990s who gave birth to the New Apostolic Reformation crossed paths at some level at some point in this journey. One of the ways that God moves a local wave onto a global stage is to connect those hearing the same frequency and receiving the same download at some level. It is through this method that God begins to move local moves into one more composite global expression. As they met, the Apostles gleaned from each other that the phenomena being released in the earth is bigger

3 than the local church or the local Apostle. What the New Apostolic Reformation got right in the beginning was the way Apostles connected across the globe and shared their local experience with one another, only to learn and realize that what they experiencing is not exclusive and not unique to them. This is a very important aspect of building because it releases a sense of humility in the custodians of a move when they realise they are not alone. Whenever there is an overemphasis on exclusivity God immediately draws our attention to the numbers around the city and around the world that are receiving the same download at the same time. In the apostolic wave God teaches us humility through the collective. Otherwise one can go rogue without these parameters. Fast forward to the year 2017 and let us consider some of the mistakes we continue to make in the apostolic. Let us consider two trending mistakes 21 ST Century Apostles make: In The Pursuit Of Excellence In our day and age excellence is not a term that people reference at all! We live in a time where most things get done quickly, inconsistently and with mediocrity. It is a microwave society. However, within the pages of this book you will discover the Source of excellence and key principles of how you can become excellent in your day-to-day life. Faithful servants of God who for several years operated as Evangelist or Pastors by default now call themselves Apostles because they migrated to the apostolic way. This approach has blurred the lines of fivefold ministry and sadly is causing the value of the apostolic call to depreciate at an alarming rate. Teaching the upcoming generation is imperative that one can be apostolic without being Apostles. Biblically all fivefold ministry flowed from an apostolic thrust but not all-fivefold Ministers were necessarily perceived and received as Apostles. When the title Apostle is seen as a step up in ministry we open the door for individuals who suffer from an inferiority complex to fix their inferiority with a new label. Sadly many Apostles today are individuals who have failed dismally in ministry and are looking for a way to re-establish themselves in ministry. This is not a generalisation bit simply an observation. It is possible to continue in the doctrines of the Apostles without calling yourself an Apostle. We must dispense with graduating people into Apostleship, who simply are seeking another title. The conferring of the title of Apostle is a divine calling that comes directly from the grace that God dispenses to whosoever He wants to. Should Apostles Have Networks? One of the myths we have to deal with is the popular belief that all Apostles must have networks. Networks are not a necessity and are not the pinnacle of Apostleship. In a South African context there is a new network established at least once a month. Sadly some of these networks have no basis for their existence and are just a repeat of something that already exists. Am I against networks? No, absolutely not. Networks have their place and bring meaning to so many individuals and ministries. The danger however of the ongoing trend of establishing networks is that we think it is a sign of Apostleship. Whenever we are uncertain of the call we are walking in, we establish systems that can help to quell our uncertainty. The Apostle is called by God and that is the primary reason why any Apostle must stand in the apostolic office. The 21 st Century Apostle must grow beyond the need for stature and importance. This will free us from the need to establish meaningless networks. It is possible to access the Saints as a resource without making them part of a network, ask the early Apostles. With that said there are certain enhancements we have to bring to apostolic ministry in the 21 st Century that will help us as Apostles to bring the Saints to a

4 place of maturity and growth. Without enhancement the 21 st Century apostolic model will become redundant. The worst that can happen to the gifts God entrusted to His Church is for them to become unnecessary. There are several enhancements needed for the apostolic ministry in the earth. Resourcing Without Conferences The apostolic today in most parts of the earth is defined by the gathering of conferences. Conferences is a 80s phenomenal established by the Charismatic Movement around the world. There is absolutely nothing wrong with conferences, but in an ever-evolving world we have to find a way to resource people beyond the modus operandi of staging conferences. GOD THE ULTIMATE NATION BUILDER As I took this book to read, my greatest surprise is that someone else out there is also writing about nations. Unfortunately in the church tradition we have today, the gospel of salvation has taken over. We emphasize mainly the benefit of the gospel to the individual believer, for-getting that God s passion is for nations. So what Brandon has done, is absolutely revolutionary. For a young man to have this kind of understanding and grasp, no doubt the hand of God is upon him. Frankly speaking as I am going through this book, I am almost thinking I am reading my own writing. May the Lord continue to raise up more sons to go and return the kingdoms back to God. Brandon, God has raised you up to help raise saviours and deliverers on mount Zion for the nations of the earth. The 21 st Century Apostle must ask himself how can we resource the Church globally without gathering them annually at one central place? This can be achieved when Apostles shift from preaching mode to writing mode. The one trait that was consistent with almost 70% of the First Century Apostles was their writing pedigree. I am in no way pre-empting that we abolish the concept of conferences in any way, shape or form, but what I am suggesting is that Apostles today start dedicating themselves to writing. We are living in an era where the world is changing. Travelling from one nation to the other is becoming increasingly complicated. There is a desperate cry in the nations for help and we have to find a way to reach people sooner and perhaps in an easier way. With conferencing a select few can afford to travel and cover their expenses. Why would we penalise people when they do not have the means to get there. We must write on every available platform provided. We have social media platforms and we have other technological advances that help us to reach people immediately and outside of the norm. In addition to writing, we must capitalize on the technology at our disposal and capitalize on it with real-time, face-to-face conversation with people who are seeking, and who are located anywhere in the world. How are we utilising these platforms as Apostles in the 21 st Century Church? How can we create access for people 24/7 to find the resources God has placed in us and to be empowered with the current speaking of God? We must find better and more modern ways to gather resources for the Saints without gathering them at one central place annually. Case in point the underground church in China is perhaps the largest and strongest globally and yet they have managed to build such a significant work without the freedom we enjoy in the free world. 5 Prayer Focus 1. Pray for our leaders of Canada to have courage and integrity to stand for what is right. Pray that they would humble themselves and ask God for wisdom to make wise decisions. Pray that righteous standards would be upheld in our nation. 2. Let us remember the United States in our time of prayer. Pray that the Spirit of the Lord would surely move strong upon the hearts of those in power. That we will see and experience such radical change that would bring glory and honour to the Name of the Lord. The entire world is watching the US and as such we must continue to stand with our brothers and sister in that nation asking that we see a return to good sense and that righteousness might prevail. God is still raising up an Apostolic and Prophetic generation, which would feast on heavenly manna, and consecrate themselves to spiritual and intellectual purity to accomplish God s Kingdom purposes. 3. Pray strongly over the Church of Jesus Christ that she will continue to grow strong and remain resilient in this hour! Pray for leaders of the Church, everywhere that God s Spirit would continue to have His way and that growth would be very evident. Let us wage some significant warfare against all deceptive moves to see the Church become compromised. This is the hour for the Church to rise to new heights and to demonstrate the Wisdom of God in significant ways. Let us resolutely pray towards this end! 4. Pray strong over Vancouver, Canada. Make strong declarations and decrees over this region keep speaking against the incorrect designation that this region is a graveyard. Let the devils know that the Spirit and Power of the living God is in this place, this community, and around us. 5.
