2 North Valley Chorale The North Valley Chorale (NVC) is a voluntary, non profit (501 (c)(3)) organization dedicated to the cultural, musical, and social enrichment of metropolitan Phoenix and its surrounding communities. We serve all segments of our community by providing affordable and accessible performances of choral music from many traditions, eras, and cultures. Our repertoire ranges from classical to pop and Broadway. We reach out into the community to serve and lift up those who are suffering and in need. During the holidays and throughout the year we share the gifts of music, companionship and goods with those who are needy, ill or homeless and their caregivers. This season we are proud to partner with UMOM shelters, the Banner Alzheimer Institute (BAI), St. Matthew School and several senior communities. We are The choir that cares. We are looking for a few good singers. NVC practices on Wednesday evenings at the Phoenix Boys Choir, 1131 E. Missouri Ave, Phoenix, AZ. Visit us on the web for more information about the NVC. 5 It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year Eddie Pola and George Wyle (arr.) Gregory Zduniak Nativity Carol John Rutter Sarah Smith Shepherd s Pipe Carol John Rutter Ethan DePuy O Holy Night Adolphe Adam (arr.) Michael Frassetti Stephen Schermitzler Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane Carolyn Nyland Sing along with NVC! We Need a Little Christmas Medley arranged by Don Marsh We Need a Little Christmas Jerry Herman Haul out the holly, Put up the tree before my spirit falls again. Fill up the stocking. It may be rushing things, but deck the halls again now, For we need a little Christmas right this very minute, Candles in the window, carols at the spinet, Yes we need a little Christmas right this very minute. It hasn t snowed a single flurry But Santa dear we re in a hurry so Climb down the chimney, Turn on the brightest string of lights I ve ever seen. Slice up the fruitcake. It s time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough, For we need a little Christmas right this very minute, Candles in the window, carols at the spinet, Yes we need a little Christmas right this very minute. We need a little Christmas now, We need Christmas now!
6 It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas Meredith Wilson It s beginning to look a lot like Christmas Everywhere you go. Take a look in the five and ten Glistening once again With candy canes and silver lanes a-glow. It s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Toys in every store. But the prettiest sight to see Is the holly that will be On your own front door. A pair of hopalong boots and pistol that shoots Is the wish of Barney and Ben. Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk Is the hope of Janice and Jen. And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again. It s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go. There s a tree in the grand hotel, One in the park as well, The sturdy kind that doesn t mind the snow. It s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Soon the bells will start, And the thing that will make them ring Is the carol that you sing, Right within your heart, Right within your heart, Your heart! The Christmas Song Mel Torme and Robert Wells Kelly Johnson, Carolyn Nyland, Shannon Barrett, Claudia Navarrete Sarah Smith, Robert Heyde, Ethan DePuy, Stephen Schermitzler We Need a Little Christmas (reprise) Jerry Herman Haul out the holly, Put up the tree before my spirit falls again. Fill up the stocking. It may be rushing things, but deck the halls again now, For we need a little Christmas right this very minute, Candles in the window, carols at the spinet, Yes we need a little Christmas right this very minute. We need a little Christmas now, We need Christmas now! Christmas Bells Are Ringing Medley arranged by Mark Hayes Ding Dong! Merrily on High Sixteenth-century French Carol Words: George R. North Valley Chorale presents Mozart Matinee Sunday, March 2 nd, 2014 at 3:00 pm All Saints Lutheran Church North 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ Adults - $20 Students/Seniors - $15 What a wonderful year of music making we've had together! Who can forget what heights we reached in "Wicked"? You never cease to amaze me with your enthusiasm, resilience, determination and insistence that all you do is your best. When I think of the hours spent learning music in rehearsals or with the help of your CDs---at home, in the car, running, walking the dogs, etc. or the time spent learning all the movement incorporated into the music---i can only say a huge THANK YOU to you and to your understanding families. Every choir director should be so blessed! We've worked so hard for this concert...enjoy every moment of it. As it says in "Before the Marvel of this Night" and I quote... Awake the listening world with song Eleanor
