The Annual General Meeting and the elections slated for September 27th, 2014 could not be conducted because of the law and order situation and extraneous circumstances beyond our control. Many of the members would have found it difficult to come to the Club and neither did we want them to risk travelling on the roads that day. Since even the Committee Members had difficulty attending the AGM, the same could not be conducted. Hence it was communicated to the members as postponed to Saturday, October 4th, However, since the AGM itself did not take place that day the meeting stood postponed and not adjourned. We were subsequently advised that under the Companies Act, a fresh notice has to be issued since it was a postponed meeting. We have therefore sent out a notice stating that the AGM will be held on Saturday, November 1, Members are requested to make a note of this date. The elections too will take place on this date and are for the posts of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and five committee members. The elections offers the members an opportunity to exercise their franchise in the selection of a vibrant and dedicated team. It has come to my notice that there are various mails and letters being circulated regarding various issues. These give incomplete information and incorrect facts. Members are well aware that any decision taken is approved by the Managing Committee and not by any individual. It pains and saddens me that elections in our beloved club has come down to this level. However, I am confident that our members will rise above this kind of negative propaganda and take correct decisions based on merit, knowledge and performance. I must place on record my sincere appreciation to my committee members for their unqualified support and to the members for their guidance and encouragement.
