These training materials are intended to be used by LDS church members only who are familiar with all IWES, PCC, BYUH, and the LDS Church mission statements. Discuss consequences if the participant s function of job duties are not aligned with the IWES mission statement. (20 minutes) 7. Summary and closing (10 minutes)

10 IWES Mission vs. PCC Mission The Polynesian Cultural Center is a unique treasure created to share with the world the cultures, diversity and spirit of the nations of Polynesia. In accomplishing this we will: Preserve and portray the cultures, arts and crafts of Polynesia. Contribute to the educational development and growth of all people at Brigham Young University-Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center. Demonstrate and radiate a spirit of love and service which will contribute to the betterment, uplifting and blessing of all who visit this special place.
11 IWES Mission vs. BYUH Mission Brigham Young University Hawaii, founded by prophets and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, exists to assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life and in their efforts to influence the establishment of peace internationally.
12 IWES Mission vs. LDS Church s Mission 1. preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ 2. perfecting and strengthening the members 3. redeeming ancestors through temple service 4. caring for the poor and the needy.
13 Transition Get into groups of 5-7 people
14 Job/Task Analysis Activity Job Functions Tasks Ignore this section of the form. 1) Write down your job title. 2) Then, list out functions within a job. 3) Finally, list out most important task that you perform regularly for each function. 4) Now discuss and share what you do with 2 other participants. 5) Make necessary changes, if needed.
15 Connections between tasks and missions Write down each task is related to the IWES mission. Job Functions Tasks Relationship with IWES Mission Please considers 1) How does a particular task relate to IWES mission? 2) Why does this task play an important role in the IWES program? 3) If this task is not properly performed, how does it affect the IWES program overall?
16 Group Activity For the next 10 minutes briefly share how your identified task-mission relationships with others in your group. Choose one team representative to briefly explain some of his or her team members task-mission relationships with everyone.
17 Activity For the next 10 minutes, the selected team representatives will share two of his or her team members identified task-mission relationships with the rest of the training participants.
