3 OPENING HYMN # What a fellowship, what a joy divine, Leaning on the everlasting arms; What a blessedness, what a peace is mine, Leaning on the everlasting arms. REFRAIN 2. Oh, how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way, Leaning on the everlasting arms; Oh, how bright the path grows from day to day, Leaning on the everlasting arms. REFRAIN 3. What have I to dread, what have I to fear, Leaning on the everlasting arms? I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, Leaning on the everlasting arms. REFRAIN REFRAIN: Leaning, leaning, Safe and secure from all alarms; Leaning, leaning, Leaning on the everlasting arms. PSALTER: Dominus illuminatio. from Psalm 27 (Read responsively by half verse) THE LORD is my light and my salvation; whom then shall I fear? * the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom then shall I be afraid? One thing have I desired of the LORD, which I will require; * even that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the fair beauty of the LORD, and to visit his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his tabernacle; * yea, in the secret place of his dwelling shall he hide me, and set me up upon a rock of stone. And now shall he lift up my head * above mine enemies round about me. Therefore will I offer in his dwelling an oblation, with great gladness: * I will sing and speak praises unto the LORD. Hearken unto my voice, O LORD, when I cry unto thee; * have mercy upon me, and hear me. My heart hath talked of thee, Seek ye my face: * Thy face, LORD, will I seek. O hide not thou thy face from me, * nor cast thy servant away in displeasure. Thou hast been my succor; * leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. I should utterly have fainted, * but that I believe verily to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. O tarry thou the LORD S leisure; * be strong, and he shall comfort thy heart; and put thou thy trust in the LORD. PageS

4 SERMON HYMN #279 1 O Master, let me walk with Thee In lowly paths of service free; 3 Teach me Thy patience; still with Thee Tell me Thy secret; help me bear In closer, dearer company, The strain of toil, the fret of care. In work that keeps faith sweet and strong, 2 Help me the slow of heart to move In trust that triumphs over wrong; By some clear, winning word of love; 4 In hope that sends a shining ray Teach me the wayward feet to stay, Far down the future s broadening way; And guide them in the homeward way. In peace that only Thou canst give, With Thee, O Master, let me live. CLOSING HYMN #312 1 Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, Calling for you and for me; See, on the portals He s waiting and watching, Watching for you and for me. REFRAIN. REFRAIN: Come home, come home, Ye who are weary, come home; Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, Calling, O sinner, come home! 4 O! for the wonderful love He has promised, Promised for you and for me; Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon, Pardon for you and for me.
