Old Testament Reading Isaiah 25:6-9 THE LITURGY OF THE WORD Margaret Glover Psalm 139:1-11 Setting: Thomas P. Smith Sung by the choir Please join in singing the Antiphon after the choir, and again at the conclusion of the Psalm portion. Refrain 1 LORD, you have searched me out and known me; * you know my sitting down and my rising up; you discern my thoughts from afar. 2 You trace my journeys and my resting-places * and are acquainted with all my ways. 3 Indeed, there is not a word on my lips, * but you, O LORD, know it altogether. 4 You press upon me behind and before * and lay your hand upon me. 5 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; * it is so high that I cannot attain to it. 3
4 6 Where can I go then from your Spirit? * where can I flee from your presence? 7 If I climb up to heaven, you are there; * if I make the grave my bed, you are there also. 8 If I take the wings of the morning * and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 9 Even there your hand will lead me * and your right hand hold me fast. 10 If I say, "Surely the darkness will cover me, * and the light around me turn to night," 11 Darkness is not dark to you; the night is as bright as the day; * darkness and light to you are both alike. Antiphon New Testament Reading I Corinthians 15:20-26, 35-38, 42-44, Kathryn Glover Sequence Hymn Hymnal 174, Stanzas 1 and 4 At the Lamb s high feast we sing Salzburg Gospel John 11:21-27 Ian Markham All sit. Offertory anthem And I saw a new heaven Edgar Bainton Sung by the choir And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and first earth had passed away, and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband; and I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying: Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people; and God himself shall be with them and be their God; and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21: 1 4) Presentation Hymn Hymnal 679 Surely it is God who saves me Thomas Merton 4

After the interment everyone is invited to Scott Lounge for a reception. 5
6 Everyone the Father gives to me will come to me; I will never turn away anyone who believes in me. THE COMMITTAL He who raised Jesus Christ from the dead will also give new life to our mortal bodies through his indwelling Spirit. My heart, therefore, is glad, and my spirit rejoices; My body also shall rest in hope. You will show me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy, and in your right hand are pleasures for evermore. Then, while earth is cast upon the grave, the Celebrant says these words In sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ, we commend to Almighty God our brother Raymond, and we commit his body to the ground; earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust. The Lord bless him and keep him, the Lord make his face to shine upon him and be gracious to him, the Lord lift up his countenance upon him and give him peace. Amen. The Celebrant says The Lord be with you. People And also with you. Celebrant Let us pray. Celebrant and People Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. Other prayers may be added. Rest eternal grant to him, O Lord; And let light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the departed, Through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. The Celebrant dismisses the people with these words Alleluia. Christ is risen. People The Lord is risen indeed. Alleluia. Celebrant Let us go forth in the name of Christ. People Thanks be to God. The God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, the great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant: Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in your that which is well-pleasing in his sight; through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen
