3 Victor Henrique Gordon was born on October 3, 1923 in St. Andrew, Jamaica, W.I. to Judith Howell nee Rainford and Claudius Gordon. He grew up in Glengoffe, St. Catherine, eventually moving to Kingston where he attended Kingston Technical High School. After graduation he held a variety of jobs in Jamaica including police officer and surveyor. In the late sixties he emigrated to the United States settling in New York, where he reunited with and married his childhood sweetheart, Sheila. He worked for years with the Carpenter s Union as a bookkeeper and surveyor retiring in Victor is survived by his wife Sheila, daughters Beverly, Barbara and Judith, sisters Dotsy, Jasmine, Minette and Dorothy, step-son Seth, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family members and friends. May his soul rest in peace.

I d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the waves, Of happy times and laughing times, and bright and sunny days. On A Hill Far Away On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame; and I love that old cross where the dearest and best for a world of lost sinners was slain. So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it some day for a crown. O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world, has a wondrous attraction for me; for the dear Lamb of God left his glory above to bear it to dark Calvary. In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wondrous beauty I see, for 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, to pardon and sanctify me. To the old rugged cross I will ever be true; its shame and reproach gladly bear; then he'll call me some day to my home far away, where his glory forever I'll share.
