1 Pleasant View News June 2018 SALMON BAKE Pre-Sale Tickets Purchase your pre-sale Salmon Bake tickets! A dollar off, per salmon bake ticket only (not hot dog plate), when purchased prior to the event. Salmon plate $9 each, when purchased before noon on Thursday, June 21st. City Office hours are Monday- Thursday 8 am to 5 pm and Fridays 8 am to noon. So make sure you ve picked up your pre-sale tickets in plenty of time, because no pre-sale purchases can be made after this time. Ticket prices at the event are: Salmon plate $10 and hot dog plate $5. COME Join the Parade! You are cordially invited to participate in this year s Founder s Day Parade. To show your Pleasant View City spirit, consider joining the parade as a family, friends, neighborhood or whatever other reason! After all, Founder s Day is a tradition for generations! Did you know that being a parade entry is FREE? On-line at (Recreation sign-ups tab). **Only 16 participants per division, so sign up early!** Entry Fee: $5 per person, individual registration, no partnerships Playing Levels: Recreation Day / Time: Location: Thursday, June 21st, 7:00 pm start Pleasant View City Pickleball Courts Traffic Detours & Road Closure **Pleasant View 5K beginning at 7:00am to about 8:30 am: Traffic delays in the area of Weber High Drive, 500 West from 4000 North to Weber High Drive, 3650 North from 500 West to 900 West and in the area of 900 West from 3650 North to Pleasant View Drive. **Founder s Day Parade beginning at 8:30am to about 10:30 am: Elberta Drive will be closed from 400 West to the roundabout, and from the roundabout to 1100 West on Pleasant View Drive. **Salmon Bake beginning at 4:00pm to about 7:00 pm: 600 West from Pleasant View Drive to 3000 North will become a one way street for Southbound traffic only. Fireworks beginning at 8:00pm: Expect traffic delays in the area of Weber High School, 500 West and 600 West. Note: Officers will be out directing traffic and there will be detours throughout the day. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

3 FOUNDER S DAY EVENTS & ACTIVITIES Community Breakfast-all proceeds go to the future Pleasant View Veterans Memorial (sponsored by Blackburn Jones and Calute Homes) From 8:00 am to 9:30 am held at the Barker Park Bowery. Pleasant View 5K Run (sponsored by I Run Utah) Begins at 7:00 am. For registration and additional information please visit and click on the Founder s Day article in the news section for more details. Founder s Day Parade begins at 10 am Starting at the round-about, route runs west along Pleasant View Dr between 700 West and 1100 West. Barker Park Fun Zone 11:00 am 4:00 pm Water slides, Volleyball Tournament, Food Trucks (Zeppe s, Island Splash, Buttercup Baking Co., The Matterhorn and Roasted Pleaser) Car Show at Shady Lane Park (sponsored by Woodruff Auto Service) From noon to 4:00 pm food trucks will also be attending. Contact Woodruff Auto for information. Salmon Bake Dinner at Shady Lane Park at 5:30 pm From 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm (Don t worry there s hot dogs too if you don t like salmon!) Tickets can be purchased at the event. Salmon plate $10 each and hot dog plate $5 each. Sit back and enjoy a meal with entertainment from the Hales Family Fiddlers! Also feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chair, as seating is limited. Music & Fireworks display at Weber High School Enjoy live music by Snow College s Commercial Music Ensemble in the stadium before the fireworks and Elissa Bailey (Weber High s Vocal Performance Sterling Scholar) singing the National Anthem! Gates open at 6:00 pm, concessions will be available. Fireworks will start about 10:00 pm. Please enter from the parking lot east of Weber High all other access will be restricted and not accessible by the general public. P.V. CERT Community Activity Thursday, June 14, :30 P.M. Starting at your neighborhood gathering place This year, for the second time, P.V. CERT and North View Fire offer you a chance to participate in a treatment area exercise. Treatment areas are a critical part of disaster relief and could be the only help available when you need it desperately. Collecting and caring for a large number of seriously wounded victims is a complicated, overwhelming process, and must be practiced to be done with a minimum amount of chaos. Practice requires victims- lots and lots of victims. At your gathering place, your block captain will ask for volunteer victims. He/she will treat your pretend wounds and give you instructions on what to do next. Please consider being a victim. If you like adventure, it will be one. If you re community spirited, this is super community service. If you need a bribe, there will be Zeppe s Italian Ice for everyone who comes to the treatment area. (We won t run out this year). We want everyone to have the chance to participate. If you don t know who your block captain is, call your section coordinator (see for contact information).
