1 PLUMBERS AND PIPEFITTERS LOCAL UNION NO. 9 POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE Chairman MICHAEL MALONEY AND PLUMBERS PIPEFITTERS Tel: (732) Fax: (732) IRON ORE ROAD AT ROUTE 33 ENGLISHTOWN, NJ October 2016 Dear Brothers and Sisters: Election Day is quickly approaching and your efforts will be crucial to deciding who becomes our next president. This election will impact the future not only of union families, but of every American across the country. Hillary Clinton has spent her entire life striving to better the lives of working families. From her early days expanding children s health care to advocating for a living wage and access to paid sick leave, Hillary Clinton is fighting for working people. She will invest in our country s crumbling bridges and highways, creating good paying jobs that will help our economy to grow. She opposes bad trade deals like TPP, and will fight to make sure American workers are empowered by our global economy. We must make sure that Hillary Clinton wins this November to ensure union families have a champion in the White House. Donald Trump has spent his entire life taking advantage of working families. From supporting union-busting laws to stiffing the people who work for him, Donald Trump only looks out for himself. He thinks wages in America are too high and manufactures his own products in low-wage countries like Bangladesh and China. Trump has said he would do away with unions completely and that he 100% supports Right-to-Work laws that weaken unions, drive down wages, and take power away from working people. Donald Trump does not support working families and we can t afford to support him. The United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union No. 9 and the New Jersey State AFL-CIO believe Hillary Clinton is the best choice for working people. She will fight to improve the lives of working families across the country. Please, get involved in this election, get your family involved, and remember to vote for Hillary Clinton on November 8 th. Also, we encourage you to vote yes to create 43,000 good paying jobs in New Jersey. Vote yes on questions 1 & 2 for gaming expansion and dedicated transit funding. In Solidarity, Michael Maloney, Business Manager, Secretary-Treasurer

7 AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM YOUR UNION VOTE YES on questions 1 and 2 to Create Good-Paying Jobs in New Jersey GAMING EXPANSION WHAT IT DOES: Would allow for two casinos to be built in northern New Jersey as long as they are at least 72 miles from Atlantic City and in different counties. WHY WE NEED IT: New Good-Paying Jobs. Gaming expansion in Northern New Jersey would generate up to $4 billion in private investment and create 43,000 construction and permanent jobs in our state. (OURTURNNJ.COM, ACCESSED 9/7/16) Help for Atlantic City and Seniors. $200 million would go toward programs for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Additionally, $200 million would be directed to help Atlantic City reposition itself. (OURTURNNJ.COM, ACCESSED 9/7/16) DEDICATED TRANSPORTATION FUNDING WHAT IT DOES: Ensures that every penny of the New Jersey gas tax goes toward fixing and improving transportation systems in the state. It does NOT raise taxes. WHY WE NEED IT: Fixing Roads and Bridges: The new funding that now would be directed to transportation would send millions of more dollars toward fixing roads and bridges. (ACR1, 12/14/15) Improving Mass Transit: This dedicated funding also would go toward mass transit and would improve reliability and allow for improvements to our rail system. (ACR1, 12/14/15) YES on Gaming expansion on Dedicated Transportation Funding VOTE For more information, contact your local union or visit NOV. 8
