1 169 th Annual Session of the Allegheny Region Conference Churches of God, General Conference The 169 th Annual Allegheny Region Conference Sessions opened at 8:30 A.M. Friday, May 11, 2012 with a video presentation and praise time. Pastor Doug Nolt brought the morning message The Vessel with Scripture from Jeremiah 18. The Ordinance Service began at 9:10 A.M. led by Pastor Dean Hay and Pastor Janis Bracken. The floral arrangement on the altar was a living tribute in memory of the many persons who have gone to their heavenly home in the last year, which included 5 pastors from the Allegheny Region. 9:50 A.M. - Business Session Friday Morning, May 11 th The Business Session was called to order by Conference President, Pastor William A. Smith. The guests were welcomed to the sessions. Pastor Fred Bauer was appointed Parliamentarian by the President, Pastor William A. Smith. Pastoral Roll Call was conducted by Pastor Jim Monticue, Conference Clerk. Pastor Lee Kline introduced new pastor Brad Adams, of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God. Also welcomed to the sessions were Pastor Kevin Richardson, Regional Director from the Eastern Region; Pastor Bill Shoemaker from the Great Lakes Region; and Pastor Brian Miller, from the Midwest Region. The 2011 Allegheny Region Reports were presented. Voted to receive the 2011 Allegheny Region minutes and reports as presented. Pastor Lee Kline asked to be excused from the Saturday Sessions due to conducting a funeral. Pastor Greg McDonald presented the ballot and conducted the elections. On the ballot: Voting for the Office of Vice President, three (3) Commission Chairpersons, and six (6) Commission Members (each position is for a two [2] year term. Vice President: No nominations were received from the floor. Voted to close nominations for the office of Vice President. Chairperson of Church & Ministry Development Commission: No nominations were received from the floor. Voted to close nominations for the Chairperson of Church & Ministry Development Commission. Chairperson of Youth & Family Ministries Commission: No nominations were received from the floor. Voted to close nominations for the Chairperson of Youth & Family Ministries Commission. Chairperson of Pastoral Guidance Commission: No nominations were received from the floor. Voted to close nominations for the Chairperson of Pastoral Guidance Commission. Member of Church & Ministry Development Commission: No nominations were received from the floor. Voted to close nominations for member of Church & Ministry Development Commission.

Member of Camp Ministry & Programming Commission: No nominations were received from the floor. Voted to close nominations for member of Camp Ministry & Programming Commission. Member of Mission Evangelism Commission: No nominations were received from the floor. Voted to close nominations for member of Mission Evangelism Commission. Ballot was cast. Tellers Appointed were: Chris Kline, Rob Guy, Bob Huber. 10:25 A.M. - Break 10:45 A.M. - Workshop on Orphan Care and Adoption - a Human Sign of a Spiritual Reality. Facilitated by Dr. Brent Sleasman and Mr. Jason Cornwell. Following the workshop Brent dismissed everyone with prayer for lunch. 12:00 Noon - Lunch Friday Afternoon May 11th 1:00 P.M. Everyone was welcomed back to the Chapel for a few songs of congregational singing with music provided by Mr. Bennie Florendo. 1:00 P.M. Workshop - "Bridgebuilders" - Facilitated by Dr. Stephen Dunn 2:15 P.M. Break 2:25 P.M. Business Session Report of Tellers was presented by Pastor Bill Smith. Vice President: Pastor Dean A. Hay, Jr. 85 votes. Elected as Vice President for a two [2] year term Pastor Dean A. Hay, Jr. Chairperson of the Pastoral Guidance Commission: Pastor Douglas E. Show - 83 votes Elected as Chairperson of the Pastoral Guidance Commission for a two [2] year term Pastor Douglas E. Show. Chairperson of the Youth & Family Ministries Commission: Pastor Elizabeth A. Dunlap - 85 votes Elected as Chairperson of the Youth & Family Ministries Commission for a two [2] year term Pastor Elizabeth A. Dunlap. Chairperson of the Church & Ministry Development Commission: Pastor Mitchel D. Johnston - 85 votes. Elected as Chairperson of the Church & Ministry Development Commission for a two [2] year term Pastor Mitchel J. Johnston.

Elected Member of the Church & Ministry Development Commission for a two [2] year term - Pastor Timothy E. Beatty. Member of the Youth & Family Ministries Commission: Pastor Rodney S. Bistline - 86 votes. Elected Member of the Youth & Family Ministries Commission for a two [2] year term Pastor Rodney S. Bistline. Member of the Camp Ministry & Programming Commission: Mr. Joe Paravate 85 votes. Elected Member of the Camp Ministry & Programming Commission for a two [2] year term Mr. Joe Paravate. Member of the Ministerial Training Commission: Pastor Edward P. Mikkelsen. 86 votes. Elected Member of the Ministerial Training Commission for a two [2] year term Pastor Edward P. Mikkelsen. Member of the Pastoral Guidance Commission: Pastor Lon F. Hogue - 83 votes. Elected Member of the Pastoral Guidance Commission for a two [2] year term Pastor Lon F. Hogue. Member of the Mission Evangelism Commission: Pastor Robert A. Huber 84 votes. Elected Member of the Mission Evangelism Commission for a two [2] year term Pastor Robert A. Huber. Ministries Focus by the ARC Director, Pastor Lee D. Kline Pastor Kline asked all of the members of the Allegheny Region Ad Council to come forward and be seated on the stage. Pastor Ken Dugger was honored and recognized for serving 25 years in the Allegheny Region Conference. Pastor and Mrs. Dugger were presented with a clock in appreciation for their service in the ARC. All the spouses of pastors were recognized and presented with a small gift of appreciation. Lee reminded everyone that these people seated before them, the ARC Ad. Council, are their leaders. Pastor Beth Dunlap, Chairperson of the Youth & Family Ministries Commission, was asked to give a short glimpse into the future of her commission and an update with the ARC Women s Ministries. Pastor Jack Feick, Chairperson of Camp Ministry & Programming, was asked to share about the work of his commission. Pastor Doug Show talked about the Pastoral Guidance Commission of which he is the chairperson the commission is recommending a 3.5% increase for pastor s salary for Pastor Rich Molgaard shared about his commission, Mission Evangelism the commission will be granting two (2) $500 scholarships per year for mission trips. Pastor Tim Beatty, Chairperson of the Church & Ministry Development Commission, brought everyone up to date on the future direction of his commission. Mr. Bob Adkins, the WV District Member, Mrs. Dolly Queer, Southern District Member, and Pastor Rob Guy, Northern District Member shared about their service on the Ad. Council. Pastor Jim Monticue, Conference Clerk, gave a brief account of what he does in the duties of Clerk. Pastor Greg McDonald, outgoing Vice President and incoming President, shared his thoughts on being on the Ad. Council. Pastor Bill Smith, outgoing President, shared a few thoughts about his tenure as President of the Allegheny Region Conference. Thanks were expressed from Lee and Sue to the Ad. Council for their support.
4 Mrs. Gladys Grimm, the ARC Treasurer, and Mrs. Karen Rhodes, ARC Administrative Assistant, were recognized for the work that they do for the Conference and the Conference Office. Credentialing candidate recommendations were presented by Pastor Dean A. Hay, Jr., Chairperson of the Ministerial Training Commission. Voted that the ARC Constitution be temporarily set aside and that in keeping with the General Conference terminology the term Lay License by replaced with the term Provisional License. Commission recommends the following person for Ordination: Pastor Rodney S. Bistline Associate Pastor of the United Community Church of God Voted to receive the recommendation of Pastor Rodney S. Bistline for Ordination. Commission recommends the following persons for Annual License: Pastor Janis A. Bracken Grange Church of God Pastor Donald S. Breghenti - Limestone/Reesedale Church of God Chaplain Linda L. Deeter - The Caring Place Pastor John (Jack) Feick Mount Pleasant Church of God Associate Pastor Pastor Jeffrey A. Keys The Underground Church Plant Pastor Roberta M. Nelson - Kennerdell Church of God Pastor Weldon D. Peary Fair Oaks Church of God Eric D. Spencer, Sr. Colliers First Church of God Voted to accept the recommendation of the above persons for Annual License. Commission recommends the following persons for Provisional License with Privilege: Pastor Donald A. Dittman Associate Chaplain at Grove Manor Dr. Christine Florendo Logos Christian Fellowship Administrative Pastor Pastor John F. Fosbrink Mount Tabor Church of God (PA) Pastor Lon F. Hogue New Brighton First Church of God Associate Pastor Pastor Vincent E. Show Kingwood Church of God Associate Pastor of Children & Family Ministries Voted to accept the recommendation of the above persons for Provisional License with privilege. Commission recommends the following persons for Provisional License: Mr. Joseph C. Cranmer Mr. Samuel Grimm, Jr. Mrs. Heidi Mikulin Mr. Kurt E. Miller Mr. Jason R. Pishney Mr. David Priemer Mr. Jeremy L. Stouffer Voted to accept the recommendation of the above persons for Provisional License. Lee went through the SWOT Analysis of the AD. Council and presented a new structure for the Region. This year this conference is 169 years old next year will be our 170 th anniversary. For a special celebration next year the Ad. Council has made the decision to move the Annual Conference Sessions to the Mt. Pleasant Church of God. Lee presented Pastor Bill Smith with several mementos of the Allegheny Region - a Pitt University mug, a Penn State Nittany Lions mug, and a West Virginia University mug. Delegates were asked to check their chairs for a special piece of paper that was attached to three chairs those who found the paper were given a polo shirt with Allegheny Region Conference embroidered on them.
5 4:10 P.M. Workshop - "Risk Management" - Facilitated by Mr. William Sutton, a representative from Church Mutual Insurance. 4:45 P.M. Business Session Winebrenner Theological Seminary Report presented by Dr. David Draper. Institute of Biblical Studies update given by Dr. Robert Guy. General Conference Reports were presented by CGGC Executive Director, Pastor Ed Rosenberry; Pastor Lance Finley, Director of GC Youth & Family Ministries; Pastor Ben Tobias, CGGC Cross Cultural Ministries Ben introduced the Poe s, missionaries to Brazil who shared a little about their ministry. Justin Meier was introduced and shared about Launch Conference which will take place next weekend and Hear the Call which will take place in the Fall. Pastor Brian Miller and Pastor Bill Shoemaker shared about their ministries. Voted to extend the time of the sessions to finish the business for today. Allegheny Region Foundation report was presented by Dr. Michelle McFeaters. Military Chaplains Report presented by Pastor Steve Show. Grove Manor report was presented by Mr. Nick Ritz. Mrs. Nancy Iandaminaro, Administrator from Grove Manor shared more about the facility. General Conference Pensions Board Report was presented by Mr. Jim Thomas. Christian Loving Fund report was presented by Pastor Jim Leichliter. Projected 2013 Allegheny Region Budget was presented by Pastor Lee Kline. Voted to receive all of the reports presented in the afternoon session. 6:30 P.M. Dismissed from the sessions by prayer by Pastor Greg McDonald. Saturday, May 12th 9:30 A.M. Praise time 9:45 A.M. Business Sessions A Step Back in Time Pastor Jim Monticue portrayed R.L. Brynes followed by the congregational singing of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. A prayer request was shared for Howard Potter s wife who had some serious surgery done yesterday. Pastor Jim Leichliter led everyone in prayer for her. Delegate changes to the roster were noted as follows: Pastor Glenn Beatty, Ms. Rebecca Dix, Pastor Vince Show, and Charles and Pam Hall, delegates from the Clinton Church of God. A short video was shown about Hear the Call. CGGC Executive Director, Pastor Ed Rosenberry gave a brief report and presented a new reporting format developed in the CGGC for the local church annual report.
6 Youth Director, Mrs. Stacey Hay, was absent due to a funeral. In Stacey s absence, Pastor Beth Dunlap shared about some of the upcoming Youth events in the conference. Mr. Jeff Conn, Vice President of the Camp Sonrise Board of Directors, presented the Camp Sonrise Mountain Report. Prayer was led by Pastor Jim Monticue for the dedication of the three (3) new cabins that were built this year. Pastor Jim Monticue, Conference Clerk led the Installation of New Officers and Administrative Council. President, Pastor Greg McDonald, made the following appointments for : Conference Historian: Sue Bure Constitution Committee: No one appointed at this time. Voted to allow the President to appoint someone at a later time. The date for the 2013 Allegheny Region Conference Sessions has been set for May 3-4, 2013 at the Mt. Pleasant Church of God. This will be a celebration of the 170 th year of the conference. Minutes of Business Session. Voted to authorize the Administration Council to approve the session minutes which, along with the reports of the Administrative Council and its agencies, will become the official record of the 2012 Conference Sessions. Conference Historian, Mrs. Sue Bure, thanked the three churches that sent her updates for the Anniversary Book. Voted to adjourn at 10:45A.M. Session was closed with prayer by Pastor Bill Smith.
