[ Psalm 29.2 NKJV ] Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name [ Psalm AMP ] Direct my heart to fear Your name [with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder]. [ Proverbs NLT ] The name of the Lord is a strong fortress [ Psalm NKJV ] Holy and awesome is His name. OVER & OVER & OVER... we hear about the Glory of God s Name Over 80 NAMES for God in Bible... WHY? When it comes to God, One NAME cannot contain who He is!! One of God s Core names and First name given... ELOHIM (Mighty Creator) - Two names come off that: EL ELYON: The Most High God / EL SHADDAI: All-Sufficient God Almighty God s ability to RULE and to OVER RULE circumstances of life

2 STORY: 05AUG10 / 33 Chilean Miners / In a deep dark Pit over feet down Couldn t see and were surrounded by barriers they couldn t penetrate In a hopeless situation they couldn t get themselves out of For 17 days they didn t know if anyone else knew they were there They couldn t even help each another get out 2 You don t have to live in Chile or be a miner to be in a HOLE - Financial hole / Relational / Physical / Emotional hole - God has a name for your Situation... - You need God to overrule the situation you re in EL ELYON The Most High God El Elyon is the Most High God who sits above your situation and who has the power to overrule what your situation is dictating to you We find this name in Genesis 14 - Battle going on / 4 kings against 5 kings & armies - Lot (Abraham s nephew) and family captured - POW [ Genesis NIV ] They also carried off Abram s nephew Lot and his possessions, since he was living in Sodom - Have you ever been held hostage??...lot & family were being HELD HOSTAGE - Something treating you like a slave?? - Addictions / Pain from past - Holding you and you can t break loose If you are... God wants to be your El Elyon (Like Lot maybe you should not have been there!!!)

3 3 [ Genesis NASB ] When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he led out his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. He divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and defeated them, and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus. (Abram) He brought back all the goods, and also brought back his relative Lot with his possessions, and also the women, and the people. - Abraham took 318 HOUSEHOLD men... - Defeated 4 armies... - Took back what the enemy had stolen I DON T KNOW what the devil has taken from you... - Peace / Possessions / Ripped off children -I DO KNOW... there s name for God that can OVERRULE what the enemy has taken Abraham returns from battle vs 17 and... 2 Kings come out to meet him [ Genesis NKJV ] 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High (El Elyon) 19 He blessed (Abram)him and said, Blessed be Abram of God Most High (El Elyon), Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 And blessed be God Most High (El Elyon), Who has delivered your enemies into your hand. (Abram) He gave him a tenth of all. Then The king of Sodom said to Abram, Give the people to me and take the goods for yourself. 22 Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have sworn to the Lord God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth, 23 that I will not take a thread or a sandal thong or anything that is yours, for fear you would say, I have made Abram rich. Two Kings came out to greet Abraham: Melchizedek (king of Salem - Jerusalem) - Melchizedek said that Abraham was DELIVERED by God Most High - God Most High, like the supreme court... gave the FINAL Ruling

4 4 There are LOWER Courts in legal system... - If the case is heard in Supreme Court... it can OVERRULE the Lower court - Not sure what COURT of OPINION is saying about your situation - Don t know what DOCTOR is saying - Don t know what FRIENDS are saying - Don t know what YOU are saying... - Question is... Has God Most High had a word? Until God gives the final word... you have NOT hear the last word DON T GIVE UP!!! No matter what the enemy has robbed you of - If you can t see way out of situation... Don t give up - If all you see is what you see with your eyes, you do not see all there is to seen King Melchizedek says... We are going to give God the credit King of Sodom says... Give the people to me and take the goods for yourself....let s cut a deal - Never want to cut a deal with the devil If you want to see God rule, You don t compromise with the enemy God doesn t want you to cut a deal with the devil (that is, those forces outside the will of God) just because it looks more profitable, it looks safer, it looks as if it s going to work out - When you have the GOD MOST HIGH...

5 You don t need to compromise with King of Sodom (George Wallace Gov. Alabama 1963 racial segregation) 5 Abraham gave a tenth of all he had to King Melchizedek... - Recognizing GOD was his source - Where we get our TITHE (STORY: Car need tune up bad... - $300 month yet paid $50 tithe... put God First - 3 days later car caught FIRE... - $200 deductible... except Fire ) Don t compromise with enemy... God can create Fire that becomes a blessing! God Most High has last say so - 33 Chilean Miners / after 69 days were LIFTED out! - God Most High has the LAST WORD in your situations EL SHADDAI All-Sufficient God Almighty [ Genesis NKJV ] When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. 2 And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly. Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: 4 As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.

6 6...This is God is Reaffirming His promise to Abraham at 75 (chapter 12) BUT... Now Abraham is 99 WAITING for miracle of baby So... Abraham and Sarah come up with plan OUTSIDE will of God - They thought God s plan was too slow or needed their help - Take Hagar... Use the FLESH to bring about promise of God God doesn t need you to have an Illegitimate means to achieve His will ( When we try to speed up God s plan by human means, we delay His blessing and hinder His plan ) ( Born of Hagar was son according of the flesh of Sarah was son through the Promise - Galatians 4.23) But chapter 17 is God saying... - I have NOT changed!... I m still going to do it the WAY I said HOW??... I am the LORD God Almighty ( Same when Mary was told she was going to have a baby... How?? - NOTHING is impossible with LORD God Almighty - El Shaddai ) Shaddai comes from the Hebrew word SHAD, which means breast, referring to the nourishment only He can provide (Isaiah / 66.11) - At the core of this name El Shaddai, - Not only is God able to deliver you God is ABLE to nourish you UNTIL God s promise comes

7 - God can keep you GOING UNTIL He brings you out!!! The 33 Chilean Miners said... - They kept looking to God, in their hole - They found ENCOURAGEMENT... even when they didn t know when! - They encouraged each other... Bible says to Encourage one another in the LORD -1 Thess Sometimes you have to wait for what God s going to do - God will nourish you in the wait... Word / Sermon / Song / Others He will keep the Milk flowing till deliverance comes - Even when you mess up... He hasn t given up on you! Your mistakes don t have to cancel out God s power, because He is the God who can come through Jimmy / Kim play music... Both these names come together in Psalms 91 [ Psalms NKJV ] He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High (El Elyon) Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (El Elyon). I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust. Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. - He is the God who... Over Rules and Nourishes you until the deliverance comes - When you are waiting for God to give final word on situation... Call on El Shaddai to carry you, nourish you, support you

8 8 When you know EL ELYON and EL SHADDAI DON T YOU GIVE UP!!... One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident. Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of "tea," which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home. My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was "just the cutest thing!" My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watched him drink it up. Then she says, (as only a mother would know..... ) "Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?"

9 9 An elderly man on a Moped, looking about 90 years old, pulls up next to a Doctor at a street light. The old man looks over at the sleek shiny car and asks, "What kind of car ya got there, sonny?" The doctor replies, "A Ferrari GTO. It cost half a million dollars!" "That's a lot of money," says the old man. "Why does it cost so much?" "Because this car can do up to 220 miles an hour!" states the doctor proudly. The Moped driver asks, "Mind if I take a look inside?" "No problem," replies the doctor. So the old man pokes his head in the window and looks around. Then, sitting back on his Moped, the old man says, "That's a pretty nice car, all right... But I'll stick with my Moped!" Just then the light changes, so the doctor decides to show the old man just what his car can do. He floors it, and within 30 seconds the speedometer reads 150 mph. Suddenly, the doctor notices a the old man on the moped in his rear view mirror right behind him. The doctor presses harder on the accelerator and takes the Ferrari up to 180 mph. Still the old man is on his tail Astounded by the speed of this old guy, he floors the gas pedal and takes the Ferrari all the way up to 220 mph. Suddenly, the Moped plows into the back of his Ferrari, demolishing the rear end. The doctor stops and jumps out. Unbelievably the old man is still alive. He runs up to the banged-up old guy and says, "I'm a doctor... Is there anything I can do for you?" The old man whispers, "Unhook my suspenders from your side view mirror!"
