This belongs to: Happy Feast Days! What a great time of year this is when we are once again reminded about the awesome plan God has for us. In Leviticus 23, God tells us that we are to keep the Holy Days, including the Feast of Tabernacles, forever, from generation to generation. God never wants us to forget His great plan for mankind, and that is why we observe the Feast and Holy Days every year. Remember, God wants to build a relationship with you and your family! The Feast is a perfect time to spend more time learning about God s plan of salvation. So make sure not only to rejoice, but to also learn as much as you can about God and His plan for YOU! Note to parents: Each page of the booklet is designed not only to be fun for your children but also to help reinforce a biblical point and basic academic skills needed for school. In addition, each page has a Family Discussion Point which can be used to help in family discussions while at the Feast of Tabernacles. Please note the Festival Activity Booklet is not used for the festival youth instruction classes. These booklets are for the children to keep and are not required for their classes. Have a wonderful Feast season! - The Education Team Hello, I m Betty the Bible Bee. You can find me throughout this booklet highlighting scriptures which have missing words. That s when I will need your help to fill in the missing words! So be on the lookout for me! This Just In Breaking News! Some animals have escaped their home at the zoo and we need your help to find them on the pages of this booklet. See how many times you can find: Oscar Orangutan Peggy Panda Peter Parrot 2

Feast of Trumpets When Christ returns to the earth the saints will be raised. These are the people who obeyed God in all their ways. The 12 apostles will have the job of ruling over the 12 tribes of Israel under King David. Family Discussion Point: Read Luke 22:29-30 and Matthew 19:28 with your family. What do you think the word regeneration means? What qualities or characteristics did the apostles have that made Christ want them to rule over Israel in the Kingdom? What other positions of leadership do you think there will be? 3

Finish the subtraction problems to answer the following question: Key 2 = A 4 = T 5 = M 8 = E 11 = H 17 = W Which apostle was a tax collector? 4

Atonement Several days after keeping the Feast of Trumpets and four days before the Feast of Tabernacles God commands us to keep the Day of Atonement. Leviticus 23:32 states: It shall be to you a Sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening you shall celebrate your Sabbath. Family Discussion Point: Discuss with your family what is fasting and why does God require his people to fast on this solemn Holy Day. 5

Holy Days and Sabbaths We are commanded by God to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. The first day of the Feast is a Holy Day. We keep the Feast, Holy Days and Sabbaths so we may learn to fear the Lord. What can you do to learn to properly fear the Lord? Color the pictures below that show how you can learn to fear the Lord; then unscramble the words. Family Discussion Point: Read Deuteronomy 14:23 as a family. Discuss what it means to fear the Lord. 6

Tithing In ancient Israel the people were farmers. God told them to save a tenth of their crops like wheat and livestock (like sheep) to take to the Feast. This was their festival tithe, often called second tithe. Family Discussion Point: Read Deuteronomy 14:22-27 as a family. Discuss what your family spends their festival tithe on while traveling to and from the Feast as well as during the Feast. 7

Today, many people work different jobs and are paid money. God teaches us to save a tenth from all the money we earn so we can attend God s feasts. To the right under the picture of the coins, trace how much one tenth is in one dollar of change. Below answer the questions to the crossword puzzle to fill in the squares Aross 2. A person who owns a farm. 4. A type of grain. 5. Mary had a little. 7. One tenth is called a. 8. The tithe is saved to use at the Feast of Tabernacles. Down 1. 9 Sharing at the Feast We save our second tithe so that we may keep God s feasts. God encourages each one of us to share our blessings with others. Find and circle the eight objects that do not belong in the picture. Family Discussion Point: As a family read Nehemiah 8: Discuss what it means to share your portion with others. 9

Family Discussion Point: Read Leviticus 23. In addition read and discuss Deuteronomy 30: Discuss how the Holy Days show God s plan for all people. 11

How Woofer Got His Name When my daughter, Amanda, was just two years old I began to create nightly Woofer Stories about a grizzly bear who was the pet of a little girl and her younger brother in the world tomorrow when Jesus Christ has returned and rules the earth. Over the years she heard hundreds of adventurous Woofer stories filled with Millennial lessons. A Woofer Story by Randy Stiver Published on The Arrowhead Journal 6/23/17 It was a chilly, spring morning a few days before Passover when Amanda s father rode his fine horse, Prince, up the forest trail to check the mountain pastures where he would bring the family s cattle and sheep to graze in summer. As they rounded a large boulder at the edge of the forest, the magnificent mountain meadows came into view! Whoa, Prince, is that good pasture or what?! But the great horse just stared at something across the meadow at the bottom of a steep slope. That s a rock slide, Prince. And there s a small creature moving near it. Let s have a look, giddyup, boy! As they galloped across the meadow Amanda s father soon saw a large brown animal lying at the bottom of the slide. He felt a twinge of sadness as he realized it was the old grizzly bear sow he had often seen in the meadow eating huckleberries. When they pulled up beside the old bear, he could see that she had died in the rockslide, two, maybe three days earlier. Suddenly, a smaller, furry creature popped its head up from behind its dead mother. Surprised and frightened, it puffed its cheeks with air and gave a woofing sound. Look, Prince, that little cub is all thin and weak. He probably hasn t had anything to eat for three days. Let s see if we can catch him and give him some food. As Papa reached for the tiny grizzly it backed away, woofing as it went. Easy, little fellow, you need some nourishment. Come on, let me pick you up. You ll have to go home with us, said Papa. Woof, woof, woof, was the only response as the tiny cub backed away under a large bush. It s okay, little bear, we re not going to hurt you. Come here, little fella. Amanda s father crawled under the bush reaching for the tiny grizzly which kept backing further under the bush woof, woof, woofing all the way. As horses go, Prince was very smart. Trained to herd cattle, by instinct he could herd almost any sort of livestock. Backing out from under the bush, the tiny bear backed right between Prince s pasterns that s what a horse s ankles are called. Papa collected the cub in his arms from between Prince s front feet and held him like a tiny baby. The little fellow, still frightened, gave out small woofs, but he was very weak with Drawing by Ariella McNally hunger. Swinging up into the saddle, Amanda s father turned Prince toward their ranch in the valley while thinking what he could feed the wee bear. Remembering that his lunch included a jar of fresh yogurt, he poured a little into his red bandana and gave it a squeeze. The delicious, milk-like substance dripped through the cloth and the tiny bear began to lick and lick and lick. Before long with the gentle swaying of the horse ride plus plenty of squeezed yogurt in his tummy the little cub fell asleep in Papa s arms. Late that afternoon Papa, Prince and the nameless little bear came into view of the ranch house. Papa whistled a long, signal whistle and his wife and children excitedly came out to greet him. I ve got a surprise for you! he announced as he dismounted with the furry bundle in his arms. He set the little bear cub on the ground in front of the children. Amanda and her younger brother, Justin, rushed to pet him, but the tiny grizzly backed up against Papa s boots as he woofed and woofed. Always a creative, young girl, Amanda exclaimed Let s call him Woofer! And that s how Woofer got his name. Little did Amanda know that the tiny, grizzly bear she could hold in her arms would grow into a 1,200 pound, perfectly tame, Woofer bear that would join her and her brother, Justin, on many happy world tomorrow adventures! 26
