3 My Own Story Always a creative person, writing poems since 15 years old. 10 years ago the Lord and I had a conversation about Parable of Talents: I didn t give you this talent so you could bury it in your journals! On a journey to explore my creativity and figure out what to do with it Last 4 years, I ve facilitated 2 classes on Prophetic Creativity based on books by Theresa Dedmon out of Bethel.

4 My Own Story I was co-leading a Prophetic Creativity class based on Theresa Dedmon s Create video/workbook series. Our homework was to dream of a creative way to change our culture. I was complaining to the Lord that I didn t have any dream, creative or otherwise, to change our culture. But then I remembered a daydream that I d had many years previously when I was not walking with the Lord. I told myself that if I ever won a million dollars, I would buy a winery in California and have a place where artists could come and live while making their art. I prayed, Lord, would you redeem that old dream of mine? The Lord said to me, Kendra, look around you. You re sitting in a Vineyard surrounded by artists!!! Different kind of wine! Different kind of Vineyard! Different kind of artists! My heart for the future is to make a place where prophetic artists can belong!

5 What is Prophetic Creativity Prophetic Creativity: God s revelation released in a creative expression. I want to be really clear about something the Lord has shown me lately: PROPHETIC CREATIVITY IS THE PROPHETIC. IT IS PROPHECY!!! More than art! More than prophetic words! It is the prophetic getting released in a creative way. Genesis 1:1,26 God created and you were made in His image. Therefore, creativity is in your DNA! Why? Some things of God can only be expressed in a song, poem, painting, ice sculpture!

6 Biblical Examples Bezalel Exodus 31:1-11, See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts. Daniel Daniel 1:17, To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. (Symbolism in literature and visual symbolism in dreams is FROM GOD!!)

7 Biblical Examples Jesus Matthew 13:55, Isn t this the carpenter s son? Where did Jesus learn humility? In the wood! In the carpenter s shop with Joseph! This is Jesus Private before Public! Jesus knows how to look at wood and see what it can become. Jesus is still a carpenter!!! John 14:2, In My Father s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. Jesus is STILL the master builder. He s the cornerstone; he s the foundation; he provides the materials that he builds upon; he s the carpenter; he s the architect; he s the interior decorator!!! Eph 2:10, For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Read: The Walls Are Expanding (Note: Words to this prophetic song are below the homework!) Especially relates to the Lonely Prophet. Felt abandoned or orphaned by others Show hallway of paintings. Describe Prophetic Dance by Amber and Micah. Healing in the room. SO POWERFUL!!!! I am a writer. Lord told me about 2 years ago to include in a fictional story that I was writing a future school in Prophetic Creativity. The Lord said, Dream about what it could look like in 10 years and then write about it as though it already exists!

9 Current Church Examples I believe this Prophetic School that Micah is starting is the SAME school! But instead of confining these people go to a School for Prophets, and these artists go to a different school for Prophetic Artists, the Lord wants artists to be trained AS prophets and He s going to show people how to use all the tools in their tool belt, including prophetic creativity. 10 Assignment Instructions Take a Scripture passage and then make a creative representation of it, something symbolic to remind you of that passage. Then snap some photos or video or voice recorder and them to me and/or Micah. Some Scripture possibilities are a SNIPPET (small visual description or metaphor) from Revelation 4, John 7:38, Isaiah 6, Psalm 27, Psalm 84, Psalm 29, Psalm 32:7, Genesis 28:12, Exodus 33, 2 Samuel 22, Job 38, Hebrews 4:14-16 Examples Create a musical piece Collage out of nature objects Take Photos Mixed Media Paint Draw Bake Dance If you are in the LIVE class, please also bring your creative pieces the following week! It is really encouraging to others. Have an index card with your name AND the Scripture reference/an interpretation of the creative piece.
