Term 1 Term 2 Term 3 Term 4 Year 1 God s Amazing World God s Big Kingdom Our God Rules! God s Great King! (Genesis, Matthew 27) (Parables) (Esther, Elijah, Daniel, Jonah) (Matthew) A stencil file (purchased separately from the Kidswise Shop) contains all the stencil masters needed for each unit. Scrapbooks It is suggested that a scrapbook be purchased for each child attending the Preschool Program. The aim of the scrapbooks is to collect and display the children s craft (select one craft per lesson) and glue into the scrapbooks along with a summary version of the story for each lesson. It is hoped that these scrapbooks, when taken home (at the end of 2 terms) will provide families with Bible stories they can read to their children as well as continuing to enjoy the craft created by the children. The summary versions of the stories for each lesson (to be glued into the scrapbooks) can be found at the end of each term s stencil file Kidswise Preschool Program Overview Two-Year Preschool Program Overview Year 2 Our God Saves! Genesis 1:1 Matt 27: Peter 3:18 Barabbas We all deserve to be punished but Jesus was punished instead of us.

Leaders Notes Big Idea for God s Amazing World: God s beautiful creation, ruined by sin, needs a loving Saviour to put it right. Genesis 1-12 tells us about the beginning of everything - everything except God. God has no beginning and therefore has no end, unlike this world, and everything in it. Genesis 1:1-25 speaks of the beginning of this world and the effortless way God brings this world into existence. His words breathe forth creation in all its glory. The spaces are created (light, dark, sky, land and sea) and then filled (sun, moon and stars, birds, fish and sea creatures and animals). God is ordered in how he creates and God is generous in what he creates. Everything is very, very good. Genesis 1:26-2:25 speaks of the beginning of humanity. Humanity, unlike the rest of creation, is made in the image of God, capable of relationship with each other and, most importantly, capable of relationship with their Creator King. Humanity is given the role of ruling this world under their Creator King. Genesis 3 takes us to the beginning of the end of this world the beginning of the rebellion to God, sin. God s loving warning goes unheeded, the lie of Satan is listened to and sin ruins everything. Everything suffers. Creation is in decay and turmoil. Humanity is at war with itself, and for the first time, humanity is cut off from the Creator. But in the midst of this dark chapter, God promises a new beginning a Saviour for this world is coming (Genesis 3:8-24). Humanity grew and organized itself, but not even the collective might of humanity in all its creativity and strength could fix the problem of the heart. Sin cannot be fixed by human effort. The Bible looks forward to when God himself would come to earth and, as a man, take on our sin and punishment, and set us free. Scrapbooks Craft stencils and the text of each story are included in each term s stencil file. These can be used to create a scrapbook for each child. Simply paste the title page of the unit (e.g. God s Amazing World) on first single page of the scrapbook. Then, on the double page that follows, paste the craft on one side with the corresponding story opposite it. Note: there are a number of crafts included in each lesson - simply choose one to include in the scrapbook each week. Continue pasting craft with matching story opposite. Depending on the size of the scrapbook, either half a year or an entire year s program can be glued in before sending scrapbooks home with children. When complete, the scrapbooks become a valuable resource. Encourage parents to regularly read the stories to their children, reminding them for years to come what they ve learnt Kidswise Preschool Program Overview

Noah, his family and all the animals are saved from a big flood. But the story of Noah is a very sad story. It begins with God being very, very sad. When God looked down on the earth he d made he was sad. People fought and hit. People yelled and screamed. People hated each other and people hated God. God was sad that he had made people. So God decided to send a flood and get rid of all the anger and pain. But one man made God happy. His name was Noah. Noah loved and trusted God. One day God told Noah what to do. Noah was told to build a big boat. A boat so big that animals of every kind could fit inside. A boat so big that Noah and all his family would be safe inside. Noah believed God. Noah trusted God. Even though there was not a cloud in the sky, Noah built a big, big boat. When the boat was ready (pause) God sent animals to Noah. Noah stepped out of the boat. And what do you think turned up? (select two children and place rabbit ears on them) There, standing in front of Noah was Mr and Mrs Rabbit. So Mr and Mrs Rabbit got onto the boat.

15 But still the boat was not full. Again God sent animals to Noah. Noah stepped out of the boat. And what do you think turned up? (select two children and place lion masks on them) There, standing in front of Noah was Mr and Mrs Lion. So Mr and Mrs Lion got onto the boat. But still the boat was not full. Again God sent animals to Noah. Noah stepped out of the boat. And what do you think turned up? (select two children and place elephant masks on them) There, standing in front of Noah was Mr and Mrs Elephant. So Mr and Mrs Elephant got onto the boat. But still the boat was not full. (continue with as many children as you have masks or ears for, then conclude with ) Till finally the boat was full! Then God shut the door of the boat and it began to rain (indicate to audience by tapping fingers on hand to make the rain sound with you). It rained and rained and rained and rained. The water went up and up and up and up. It covered the houses, the hills and the mountains. But Noah and his family and all the animals were safe inside the boat. For forty days and nights it rained. But one day it stopped raining (indicate to audience to stop tapping). The sun came out. And the water dried up. Then Noah and his family got off the boat. Mr and Mrs Rabbit (take rabbit ears off children and have them return to seats) got off the boat. Mr and Mrs Lion (take lion masks off children and have them return to seats) got off the boat.

16 Mr and Mrs Elephant (take elephant masks off children and have them return to seats) got off the boat. (continue until all animals are off the boat) Then Noah and his family thanked God for saving them. God said he d never flood the whole earth like that ever again. He put a beautiful rainbow in the sky to show that he would always keep this promise. (pause) Children, the people were doing bad things to each other and it made God sad. God couldn t simply ignore their badness. That s why he sent the flood. The good news is that God is kind and saves people. God saved Noah and the animals from the flood. God chose to save us by having Jesus die on the cross. When Jesus died on the cross, he was being punished for the bad things we do. The bad things we do make God sad and he will punish us for them. But if we trust in Jesus, God saves us by letting Jesus get punished instead.

19 The sun came out. And the water dried up. Then Noah and his family got off the boat. Mr and Mrs Rabbit got off the boat. Mr and Mrs Lion got off the boat. Mr and Mrs Elephant got off the boat. Mr and Mrs Giraffe got off the boat. Mr and Mrs Cow got off the boat. Then Noah and his family thanked God for saving them.

People hurt God and hurt each other. But God was kind and rescued Noah and his family. God told Noah to build a boat. God loves to rescue his people. Genesis 6-9

God makes promises and God keeps promises. The rainbow reminds us of God s promise to never flood the world again. Genesis 6-9

People hurt God and hurt each other. But God was kind and rescued Noah and his family. God told Noah to bring the animals onto the boat. So Mr and Mrs Giraffe got onto the boat. Genesis 6-9
